Back on the Wagon...

Can't stop, wont stop

I've stumbled the last few days, I think mainly because of that T.O.M. Extra tiredness and cravings, but tomorrow is a new day and I'm going to start it off with going grocery shopping for some healthy things and then after getting some shut eye I'll hit the gym. Not looking for to weighing myself *pout*. Why is it so damn easy to gain and so hard to lose?

I bought a weigh-scale for my kitchen, no more sneaking in extra helpings of meat and claiming ignorance lol. This will def come in handy for my fish, which I need to start eating again.

I start school this week, maybe the stress will help me shed a few lol, j/p.

I tried on a pair of medium pants today that I've had a while but just never got around to wearing them, I was so surprised that even though they were a bit tight on my thighs, they actually easily went over my butt! Ahhh progress.

Machine accuracy

I was just reading that the calorie burned estimates on treadmills/ellipticals and the like, can be overestimates by as much as 30%. I had read this before, a while ago, but had virtually forgotten about it. I think I'll continue to use the numbers though, seeing as how I can use the extra cals to represent calories burned through other things I do all day that aren't accounted for....for example, when I'm at work I'm on my feet 1-2hrs, walking up and down the halls passing medications or using the stairs daily. Even on a day without use of an excercise machine I'm pretty sure I burn the 150-300 cals.

Diet: I keep goofing on my eating habits. I'll do so well for a few weeks and then the opposite for a few weeks. I have noticed that at least if I occasionally allow myself a small bit of what I'm craving, at least when I fall off the wagon it isnt completely. I still try to avoid big portions and eat healthy more often. Well, I stocked up on plenty of the good stuff, now I just gotta cook it! lol

I'm making enchiladas (sp?) tonight, yuuum. I'm mixing turkey and lean ground beef to try to cut some cals, as well as using corn tortilla instead of flour. I hope I can stick to one serving! :drool5:

Ugh ugh ugh!

:toetap05:I'm disappointed in myself :banghead:. Cant seem to muster up the energy nor motivation to get my butt down on the floor and do these situps and pushups. My plan was to do cardio the 1st month, increase cardio and do the pushups and situps for the 2nd month and then start weight training the 3rd month. The 1st month went well. Totally dropped the ball this second month. I think I'll make the rest of this month a continuation of month 1, do the push-ups and sit-ups as much as possible but really push myself next month. Hmmm, that sounds like a plan. :smash:

My eating habits are definately still a work in progress.

I know you're right but....

:ack2: Blah! I dont wanna :toetap05: lol I guess I'm embarrassed that I'm such a weakling, I was hoping to build a little strenght before I start doing anything more than cardio at the gym.

hi

i enjoyed reading your diary.

we have about the same amount of weight we want to shift...so far i've only rambled on my own diary without putting in place a plan ie some actual goals!!

does willing it to magically just melt away count??! nice thought :)

i like the way you set your self certain things to do each mth. i will have to use that approach too...asap!!

Thanks and ohhhh I wish it worked that way lol. The goals help though, thats why I repeat myself sometimes, trying to keep them in mind. Small steps and we'll get there, I know it! Best wishes.:waving:

What to do, what to do?

I usually order a Turkey and Ham sandwhich from Subway and get the calorie content off of the website, but now I just looked at one of their napkins and the cals for the same sandwhich are much higher, whats up with that? I guess I'll go with the larger numbers for the sake of doubt.

Hey :) Thanks for swinging by my diary the other day. I got a bit confused finding yours because there's several, lol. I caught on eventually though. Awesome job on over a month committing to exercise! I've been fighting against it but I don't think I'll ever be "ready". I'm just gonna have to start at soem point and hope it sticks. I quit soda too...I don't know what day exactly though. I cut way back and then refused to put anymore in the house. Then Idecided to quit playing around and I'm not drinking it at all. I think it's safe to say I've been off it for a week now and doing ok. Have a great weekend :) ~Lisa

In a good mood today

Hey Lisa, :waving:
lol...yea I have a few logs, some times you just need a clean slate but at the same time I dont delete the logs because I can look back on them and get advice from myself lol, or see what went wrong before so I can avoid it.

I did pretty good this last week and dropped 3lbs to prove it! And results like that keep me motivated to go to the gym and continue doing what I'm supposed to do.

Motivation

My motivation for losing weight:

#1. To be healthy
#2. To have more energy
#3. To look good! lol
#4. To not be hypocritical when encouraging my patients
#5. To not end up like some of my patients
#6. To fit all those cute scrubs I have folded away in my closet.

Hanging in there

Thanks for stobbing by. My week is going OK so far, a tiny bit of laziness sinking in, didnt cook Sunday. Other than that still going strong. I missed a workout today, my Granny had some issues and I had to go check on her, when I got home I was beat. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.
