Great Ashy for not eating out!i mean you were also hungry but didnt make that mistake!!Good for you.the feeling of being strong is fantastic!!Its little battles that with the war!!!
I ve also got a big award for my LAST goal and that money just for clothes!!!!!well i aranged with my husband if things work out with the new buisness we re starting and FINALLY we have some cash around ill get money and spend on new fitting clothes!if we re still tight on money ill take the payment money from my part time job and spend that....
You got me thinking on awarding myself on my inbetween target aswell!!!!!!!:)

Re your question on cottage cheese and chilli powder- I've just had two dark rye crackers (Ryvita brand, if it makes any difference) with a serve of low fat cottage cheese and a sprinkling of mild chilli powder on top. So good. :drool5:

I have decided that when I first log in I am going to write something positive to keep me going all day long.

Today is day 5! I can't believe how I have stuck it out! No sodas & no sweet teas (which have been my daily evils). My beverages these days are mainly water, black coffee and a glass of milk. I feel amazing. Partly because I am proving to myself that this is only a battle if I let it be. Everytime temptation occurs and for some reason it has been more infrequent this past week than previous attempts to dieting, I just remind myself that I signed that contract when I took the time to plan out my meals. This is what I am committed to. I also know how crappy I will feel if I deviate from it and I am not willing to burden myself with guilt.
So enough with my self pep talk.

I had a great breakfast. I'm saving my milk that I normally have with breakfast to eat with my 100 calorie snack pack later. You can't have cookie crisps without ice cold milk.

Amy & Jasper those are great suggestions! I just moved and in my home there are lots of repairs and decoration to be done. I think that is a fabulous idea. As for clothes shopping I think I will save that for my mini goals. First mini goal is 175. That is how much I weighed when I got married 7 years ago. Holy crap. Marriage really does make you fat!!! lol

Thanks for the kind words Nemo!

oh and I will give that a try, Amy! I am going to put it on my next weeks menu. I'll just have to eat it when my husband isn't home. haha

Wow I just thought my ultimate weight loss present to myself. A professional photo shoot showing off my new body in awesome clothes. :) Its a long way off so I can save in the mean time.

OMGAWD this idea is just epic ashy!

I love it :D

Also, would this help as a sweet tea substitute? (I'm not sure what's meant in the US by "sweet tea", I suspect it's like ice tea? I make some in a way that's 10 calories per about 7 fl oz, but apparently one of the key ingredients is very rare in the US)

So I'm sitting in my rocker watching my son scale around his play area having a blast. I'm glad too. He's been fussy today and I think its just due to his booster shot. And he is missing one of his cookie monster socks. haha. Anyways...

I am doing good today but I did over do the cottage cheese with pineapple.. Only because there was like maybe 2 tbspns left in the container and I did not want to put that back in the fridge. So I will forgo the 15 grapes tonight which was part of my . snack. And I was really having a serious low today. So I had a second cup of coffee.

And I'm glad you guys like that idea! I mean what better way to celebrate your body than show it off? Immortalize it. lol. And then look at it all the time to inspire you to maintain.

Anywho, thanks for the suggestion Amy. Sweet tea is iced tea with sugar. Where I am from, Georgia, it is actually a legal requirement for restaurants to have sweet tea readily available. Its part of our culture that and greasy fried vegetables. In other states when you order iced tea you put in the sugar yourself.

So what do you personally use to sweeten it? I have splenda, but I don't really like it in beverages. I'm trying to stick with water. I don't want to drink my calories. Maybe in the future when I've made a bit more progress.

The way I make ice tea is by making a pot of very strong black tea* (enough tea leaves for six in water for four, and stew for ten minutes rather than the usual 3-5) with a peppermint teabag as well as the black tea, remove the tealeaves/ bag, leave to cool to room temperature, then add diet squash/ cordial (Squash (drink) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - I use lemon - this is the product I use Robinsons No Added Sugar Lemon Drink 1Ltr - Groceries - Tesco Groceries) at a normal concentration that I'd add to water (1 part squash to 3 parts tea), then chill, then when I come to drink it I usually dilute 2 parts tea mix to one part water. Apparently the closest thing you have to squash/ cordial (I put the / in because it's called different things in different places- squash in Australia means something else entirely!) is KoolAid (spelling?) or similar. I don't sweeten it- I don't think it needs it (and if it does you should dilute it some more to see if that works).

* By the way, is it really true that Americans make (hot) tea by adding hot water out of the tap rather than boiling water? :ack2:

That's good. Because using hot water is the act of a madman. Or a heretic. Or a fool. Or something else bad. :puke:

(sorry, tea is something I take relatively seriously- although I'm a student, I invest in quite good tea- and the thought of someone making it like that is just... *shudder*)

I made coffee like that once when my electric had run out. It was truly awful.

Ahhh, so one day we will be seeing your professional photoshoot after pics, I can't wait, and I agree: thats a fab idea.

My mini goal treat to myself will be having fat injected into my hereditary eyebags when I'm 175 pounds. They look even worse when I have lost weight. Now I bet your all examining my profile pic for eyebags lol.

Last night I finished off my night well. I am very proud of myself for holding up my commitment for 6 days straight. Go me. :)

Thanks, Amy. I am gearing up for lunch. Tummy is saying its food time. I am doing my weekly meal planning today and I am having a hard time finding stuff. I am trying to find a good list of 300-400 calorie meals and 150 calorie snacks. Right now eating 6 times a day is working for me. I don't want to use the same list I have had because it will get boring. I'm keeping things from the list that I liked this following week, but need some new ideas.
I made my own spaghetti sauce last week. Just tomato sauce and spices. It was actually really good so I am going to do it again. Now I don't understand why people buy it in a jar. So simple. I'm learning things! That can be dangerous for the rest of you. o_O

Have you thought about looking at low calorie recipes online? Your mileage may vary with the calories on these (and they work in metric, which is probably a problem for you) but my favourites are these: and (for the former, search in the blue refine search under calorie range, for the latter, under advanced search search low kilojoule, then use this: ) Run any recipes and alterations through (although remember your mileage may vary there too), and then write down what you actually use and figure out the calories (sometimes the listed calories can be hilariously wrong).

Yes, I use google all the time to find info about everything... Sometimes weeding through the results to find what I want can be a challenge. I'll check out those links. Thanks for posting them.

So I went out this evening to get some clothes for my son and all I could think of was deserts and fast food. I was a little hungry which was my first mistake. I was so tempted. I resisted, its cool. But I gave into getting a diet mtn dew which I noticed is no longer a 0 calorie soda. Its labeled as 10 calories. Meh, who cares! I still have a snack waiting for me downstairs and I am going to indulge in it momentarily. So I did great. I hope you guys have a great night. Time to check out some of your diaries and finish my meal planning.
