Anna's Diary

Yep you're right... I just don't trust myself to actually be losing weight... I can't believe that its happening and will I be able to keep itb off... eek. I need to get over that.

I haven't been offered the job in Oz yet, and have decided to just let it be until I do get offered.

I've got lots on this weekend. Going to see my sister in law sing jazz in a concert tonight and then going out for supper after. Tommorrow is family lunch and tommorrow night night shift. Then my days off are Mon and Tues. So I'm expecting to not ex as much and eat a bit more for a couple of days. i'l keep tracking the food though.

Anna I know what you mean. The lowest weight I’ve ever been as an adult was 144 and I'm kind of afraid of being in that territory for some reason. I guess change in general, even if it’s something we dearly want is sometimes hard to accept and deal with.

Sounds like you have a lot going on over the next few days. Make the most of them and like you said, as long as you keep track of what you are eating then you will have nothing to worry about. Enjoy your dinner out and family lunch!

I have that feeling too! we're all not alone :)

You're doing great so keep it up!!! Feel great about every small 1/4 of a kg because it is happening :D

Hope you enjoy the family visit!! Keep it up anna :D

Thanks thanks thanks for the encouragement everyone...:waving:

I had a good weekend but it was a bit too full with work and socialising. I got to SUnday night and I was TIRED! I didn't count the calories on Saturday (gave up at lunchtime) and went over my own goal on Sunday (but not by much).

My honey and I fit in a nice hill walk on Fri afternoon and we had a huge chat about life the universe and everything. A great way to start the weekend.

The family lunch was nice, and we went out for lunch again on Sun, but I got back into the healthy eating. I did yoga Sun afternoon and cooked fish for dinner, and fell asleep really early last night.

I feel really focused on the exercise/food thing again today. It's good to give yourself a little break every now and then....

Today is a day off work for me, so I went for a half jog/ half walk, and then went to yoga. Just had some salmon sushi and a coffee. Might need a little nana nap.

Hope you are all well :troll:

:iagree: im thinking part of the reason i did well yesterday was that i had already had a day where i wasnt as hard on myself calorie-wise.

great job for getting back into your workouts and healthy eating after the weekend! Getting back on track isnt always easy, but you did it! :hurray:

enjoy your day off :)

Looks like you're doing great as well!! Keep it up anna!

Thank you for your encouraging words in my diary :D

Here's to another good week!! Good luck with c25k You can do it :D

dogs...

Hi Ana,
This is hilarious, my dog does this *all* the time. I learned about his penchant for this when I lived in Colorado and there were horses that walked the same trails as we did...sigh. Usually now I can catch him before he does it because all he can find is dog poo while I'm walking him. The experts say that hound dogs do this to mask their scent from foxes or whatever else they're chasing after. Mine is a Jack Russell mix so that makes sense. He's a sweetheart but incredibly sneaky and stubborn. Right now, for example, he's waiting persistently for the last lick of ice cream in my bowl which I always give to him. Its just a few drops, but he loves it. I am happy about how nice and soft he is today, after his bath. Also have had some problems with him digging, but we've put a gate around the area where he goes so he's stopped...for now. Well, I'm going back to read the rest of your blog. Ash

Today has started out pretty well for me. It's a beautiful day here is NZ. I took my dog to the forest, except for the stoooopid dog rolling in horse shit it was pretty nice.

I had to get home and wash the dog, and since I was pretty dirty by then (think washing horse shit out of your dog while she is shaking herself over you), I got out into the vege garden and weeded for a couple of hours.

Hot Yoga tonight

Catch ya later:waving:

I went back to work after 3 weeks holiday today.
Nice...more than most Americans get. We get 2 weeks and "earn" more with time put in at each company. I seriously consider becoming an ex-pat one day...particularly after seeing the movie "Sicko"....maybe I'll go off to Denmark or Belgium...somewhere nice and chilly where it never gets too hot. I hate the heat! :D. Naturally, I will have frizzy hair the minute I get to Greece (my next international trip), but I'll have to deal. I think the country will be beautiful and the food delish, so if its too hot or humid, I can put up with that for two weeks.

Wow a trip to Greece sounds fab. I haven't spent much time in Europe.

My dog is a lunatic when it comes to rolling in stinky stuff. I try to get her before she gets a chance but she is very fast and cunning! The forest I go to has a tap and hose thank goodness, so I can hose her off before getting in the car.

I've had another couple of busy busy days.

Yesterday I took the dog and my mum to the beach and we had a lovely walk. It was warm and sunny and a really beautiful clear day.

I ate well, and then went and did a pump class (ouch it was pretty hard, my shoulders were shaking like crazy), and then met my hubby at yoga.

It's like the yoga all came together for me and I felt fantastic when I came out of it.

I bought new scales yesterday.... my old ones were rubbish. If I was having a bad day I could lift my toes while standing on them and I'd be 2lbs lighter! haha So anyway, I bought the new scales and weighed myself immediately and was quite a bit heavier than the old scales....stinker!:banghead:

I'll weigh again tommorrow morning and that'll be the number that I weigh and lose from!

Today I've been on track and eaten well, and I mowed the lawn at our holiday shack which took 80min. So that is todays exercise. I'm working now and will have to come up with tommorrows exercise/eating plan.

It's more than likely just water weight from the weekend! Try not to let it bother you.

80 mins of mowing is no small deal! Nice workout!! you'll be back to your real weight before you know it!!

im jealous of your walks on the beach-there is nothing more beautiful to me than the setting of the sun on a beach

Was gonna ask you how c25k is going (whether you joined me, nightrunner and antyoch) but saw that you have been working pretty hard on other hard stuff.

Pump class, yoga and then 80 mins of lawn mowing isn't small. Amazing amazing amazing and totally cool. You must be exhausted by the end of the and sleeping really well.

Your old scales remind me of mine. Really need to get a new one soon too.

Take care, Ana. More later!

Hi all,

I got to try out my scales at the proper time of day today (proper for me is in the morning when I get up)... and the new scales said (even though they can't talk ha) 93.3 kg.

I think you were right night runner, it must have been water weight and weighing at the 'wrong' time of day (with my clothes on) , that made the scales so high. So thats another 700g since last Wed... YAY

Your're right to ask me about the c25k Juni... I haven't been doing it because I'm right into a bunch of other exercise. I'm saving it for if I need the motivation sometime, and I am sleeping sooooo well at night. I've been falling into bed and falling asleep almost instantly. Its good because I don't have any super early starts this week, I've been able to lie in til about 8am... Bliss!

I've got to go, but I'll be checking in on everyone later.

ps I signed up for the Halloween challenge, just what I need to do to get to my first goal!

I'm sooooo tired. I had to do a bunch of cleaning of this dirty dirty house today (not my normal daily occupation - helping someone out), and it was so scummy. How people can live without ever cleaning their loo (toilet), or mopping the floor etc. So ended up scrubbing for about 3 hours.

I went to yoga tonight and I was stuffed. Just wanted to lie there, but I got off my butt and managed to get through the class.

What do you guys do when you go to the movies. I went tonight and I really wanted popcorn and lollies and ice cream, :piggy:but had none of them, do you all get something? What fits into the diet? Luckily the people I was wigh didn't want to pig out either so that made it easier.

It's the weekend again, and I've got work both afternoon/evenings. It makes the eating easier because I only eat at work what I bring with me (no more snacking from the vending machine yay), but I'll be really tired by the end of the weekend. I'm in bed now and going to sleep!

have fun everyone:cheers2:

Way to go for going to yoga despite feeling tired and full. You get the most satisfying feeling after the workout-like yeaaah! I did it even though i initially d idnt really want to!

Sorry i cant be much help with the foods to choose from at the movies, usually what i do before going to eat is look up the nutritional info of the foods that i know will be available so i know what to stay away from...

It’s hard to believe its the weekend already eh?! No complaints though :D

Oooh! and congrats on the 1.5 pounds (.7kg) lost!!!

I got home from work yesterday and I was aching... thought I might be getting sick, but I think I just needed a rest from the exercise. So today I had a sleep in mmmm and then took my dog for a very cruisy walk around a little lake. SHe loves swimming so I threw a stick for her. It was all very lovely.

I'm at work again and will head home soon, another early night tonight I reckon.

I feel heaps better for a having a 'rest' day. I'll be sure to programme them in every now and then.

I don't have to work the next 2 days, so I think I'll wind up the exercise again and have a couple of full on cardio days (its so fun, step class mon and maybe pump again on Tues now that my arms are feeling better)

Have a good Sun/Mon everyone.

Ana

Where abouts in NZ are you Ana? You look like you have been doing well! Also I've been thinking about trying Bikram but I'm quite unflexible and not sure if I can handle the heat.. How hard did you find it first time you tried?

Hey Caro
I'm in Christchurch, how about you?

The first couple of Bikram Yoga classes were pretty tough, but they are very nice to beginners, and you can just sit or lie down as much as you need to. I still have times during a class where I just need to have a little sit down.

You sweat a huge amount and I was drinking 1.5 litres of water in a class to begin with.

I really enjoyed it right from the start though. Because of the heat and the way the class moves along you don't really notice the time and teh 90min goes pretty quickly.

Most studios have a beginner introduction where you pay a one class fee but can go as many times as you like for a week (to get you hooked )

Ana

Hey Ana,

Having a rest day is def a good idea. I know sometimes i feel guilty if i dont get a workout in, but i just try to compensate by making sure i only eat healthy foods on that day.

No sense over working our bodies and then having no workouts for days eh?
