Anke Says: Just Do It!

Hello everyone.

Wednesday night I was hijacked (that might be a South African term... I was held up by 4 armed men who drove off in my boyfriend's car.)

Today I celebrate Thanksgiving (very UN South African!) with the rest of the US. Everything material was taken, but physically I was unharmed. I am so grateful for this experience.

It has woken me up to what's really important. I had all 4 my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday too, and it feels like nothing, no joke! I swear it's coz of the day before's trauma in comparison!

Anyway, my boyfriend's getting a new car, and we'll be struggling for a while but we'll make it.

I went running again on Wednesday, made 4.2km in 37 mins. Will go again today (transport permitting!) otherwise I WILL exercise at home.

My boyfriend and I have now (as of today) taken a break from the weed. My head feels so clear today.

Once again, thanks for taking the time to stop by my diary, even though I have not yet made the time to read all of yours! I WILL be doing a catch up session this weekend guys!

Mwhaaa!

Anke

Holy shit! I'm glad you weren't hurt in the carjacking. I applaud your attitude about it

Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

I am glad your ok after the carjacking, good work taking a break from the weed and great effort for your running :)

Damn, Anke, that is scary. So glad that you are ok. Your attitude about it is truly commendable. Good for you about taking a break from the green, too.

Anke, so glad you weren't hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN.

My homegirl was mugged in Durban in front of her own flat, had the shit kicked out of her and it was a big thing in her decision to come back to the States. S.A. ain't no joke! I guess a bigtime Reggae artist down there was also highjacked earlier this year--but he didn't survive :(

Anyway, you're amazing for keeping with us and admitting to all the doubt. I really would say that while ganja is GREAT sometimes, smoking all the time ain't so great for your seratonin production, either--basically your reward system in the brain CAN be a bit affected in a bad way. Not will, but can....I suggest clean living, exercise, Yoga and meditation but don't listen to me, I don't know SHIT! :D LOL, HUGS, take care, glad you are all right! :hug2:

Wow. That totally sucks about the carjacking, but I'm really glad you didn't get hurt! Like the others said, I admire your attitude about the whole situation. You're a real fighter!

Way to go on ditching the weed! I know you'll feel great in the long run.

It's awesome that you can come here and tell us everything, I really admire that honesty.

:)
Yay for not being hurt!!

If you ever need to talk, hop on over to my thread or pm me :) I'm all ears!:bigear:

I go away for one lousy weekend and you manage to get hijacked?? Not funny!
Anyhow, I hope you are fine and get over the trauma soon, I would never go out of the house again.
And when they took my wisdom teeth I was kinda hoping I would lose some weight in the process (you know 4 teeth must weigh SOMETHING) plus everyone told me how they couldn't eat for weeks, yadayadayad... well nothing happened for me, I was fine, a tad swollen but absolutely fine and 2 days later I was eating as usual! It just happens that everyone who had a bad experience tells you about it and those who had a good one never mention it! So there is mine, I had no pain, no vomiting, nothing!
Talking of vomiting, I am here holding my ears shut as to now hearing how my man throws up... ugh I hate it when he(or I) is sick. I feel so bad for him and want to make it stop, but there is little I can do (and so I hide away, where I cannot hear it if I cover my ears, because I feel ill from just hearing it).

Have a better week next week, Camy

Hello hello!

Owww, my gums. I am doing alright, but mostly on autopilot... need to get back on track health wise. :ack2:

You just had major mouthsurgery, give yourself time to heal then you can go back to healthy eating!
And thank you for continuing to visit my diary, only you, wishes and me ever do (and Logan once a week), it really makes me feel great when I know someone is there "listening" and it makes me feel more accountable. I am having a crabby day and am kinda resenting the hundreds of newbies I welcome daily and who NEVER come and check out my diary because (I presume) it is too long... ach...

Hey Anke

Whew, haven't been here in a few days. But damn I missed a lot.

I cannot believe you were hijacked. OMG HOW SCARY. I am so glad you're okay! So sorry about your boyfriend's car being taken :(

Take it easy! I have never had my wisdom teeth removed but I know it's extremely painful. So yeah, it's okay if you slack off for a few days :p

Awesome job on the running, BTW :)

Only thing I remember about getting my wisdom teeth pulled was the kick ass pain killer they prescribed for me.

I don't have my wisdom teeth yet, but I heard it hurts like hell to get them out! I don't know if I'd rather take pain killers or deal with the pain... I REALLY dislike feeling like I'm living in a dream world. It reminds me all too much of my worst days.
I hope you feel better soon, and yeah, it's kind of expected to feel knocked off your ass and not able to cope. I have those days, and I've never even dealt with much physical pain (other than illness, but I block that out so thoroughly I can't remember anything about it). So trust me, it's okay to have a few off days. Just keep your eye on your goal so you can get back on the horse again!
:)

Well done, let's get back on that bandwagon and kick the weight's ass!

We are so close girl, we can do this!!
Have a wonderful week, Camy

Ake, Sorry I haven't stopped in for a bit... And damn look what I missed. I'm so glad you're okay! Cars ar easy to replace, if you know what I mean. Pain in the ass maybe, but still, you're okay, and life goes on.

And with a new strength of will it looks like! Glad to see you've got such a good attitude.

Anke, glad to see that you are getting back on it. Try not to think of it as on it or off it, though. It's just different levels of on it. It can be your A game or your B game, but as long as you are still in the game it's all good. :driving:

How's it going with the green?
