Anke Says: Just Do It!

Hey Anke :)

Congrats on jogging nonstop for 25 minutes! That's amazing!

You can do this Anke, you can do it. I believe in you! Look at how far you've come!! Your past is proof that you have it in you to do this!

Keep your chin up! <33

Nice to hear that you had a good run! Hey you can't feel bad about that right? Ride that wave and let the others just sliiiide...

Hey Anke,

Hope you don't mind but just read through alot of your journal and wanted to say how fantastic you have been, and great to hear you have found a running club! I have just started the couch to 5km, and used to belong to a running club and they are heaps of fun.

We all have the ups and downs, and days we know we are doing not what's best for us but still do them. So just keep riding that wave of positivity, you can do it!

Frankie

Awww, I cam into my diary and now I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy.... what a great forum this is... you're all such awesome people, I'm so glad I found you!

I am feeling good today... Neutral, but biased towards good right now... Yesterday's running class rained out, so we were doing theraband resistance exercises for 45 mins... ah, felt good! Missed the running though :(

Going to belly dancing tonight. End of year show is on Saturday, and I still haven't done the bloody sewing on my top, aaarghh! Getting a little anxious, but should have time Friday night.

I'm also going to my weekly weigh in tonight, where I also recently got "hired" as a group assistant - coz I've lost 15kgs and am doing well :) It's a similar company to Weight Watchers, but called Weigh-Less. They work on portions of food groups per day. (Calories basically)

Okay, so I'm expecting a weight gain.... I've been playing around TOO MUCH with my diet this last week... and I ate a whole slab of chocolate last night :ack2:

Oh, in other news, I got a call from a recruiter who found my Resume on the internet and wanted to know if I'm still in the market. So I said yes, and she said she could possibly get me a better located, better paid purely technical writing job, in a company with good "opportunity for growth" as they say. I'm meeting with the agency next week Thursday. Thank GOODNESS I'm getting my hair done this weekend (dark roots light hair not good), in time for secret job interview AND belly dancing "show" (really just a small get together/party - no stage etc).

Ah, life, yes.

So today I continue the monotonous life of a technical writer-turned-software-tester. Click here, check there, click there, check here, arg...

But that phonecall... an OPPORTUNITY I SEE.... NEW JOB, EEK!!! :hurray:

:willy_nilly: ok, bye now!

sounds pretty damn good to me!!! How could you be neutral, biased towards good? that all sounded good all the way.

Ahhhhh, the dreaded 'dark roots, light hair' dilemma!!!
I totally get it.

Having moved to Singapore where thay charge, no joke, $345 for a full head of highlights, excluding haircut, and also tell you 'we don't colour at root as will damage' - and THIS at the L'oreal Academie (where at least you know they are using the real product) - well, let's say I am getting used to the dirty skunk type root look.

Not the most attractive - ha ha!

Good luck with the job! And great news with the running, I just finished day 2 of my program.

Frankie

Hey Anke! :)

This forum IS amazing. I TOTALLY agree. <3

You do belly dancing?! HOW COOL. OMG I would be this huge blob if I ever did belly dancing LOL

Let us know how the weigh-in goes. I'm sure you'll be fine. If you gain a pound, it's okay, it happens. As long as you keep trying :)

Congrats on the possible new job opportunity!

Post pictures of your new hair :)

You're doing great!

<3 Jes

Hey! Listen, my Belly dancing teacher is one of the best dancers I know... she easily weighs over 200 lbs!

Okay, so I picked up 2.2lbs. Not to worry. This next week I am back on it!!!!

Sure, I'll try post pics of me in my dancing outfit with my hair done, heehee :)

Whoa, Frankie... if they charged that much here I'd just be a brunette!! :p

So it's raining today so I can't ride my scooter (moped?) to work... so just chilling at home, yay!!!

I've got that running class again today... and with this rain, hmmm, another resistance band session, eek!!!

Anyway, I'm off to catch up on diaries :)

yes.........have been contemplating being a brunette.

I choked when I went, - mind you, only been once in 3 months.

Hmmmmm.....maybe that's why I have dark roots light hair!

Hey 2 pounds is nothing, I keep going up and down the same 4 pounds (137 to 141).

Being a group leader in that weigh-less program is awesome, you will be able to inspire people and help them and it will give you strength to get to your goal, because you won't want to fail your group! Excellent!!

And the new job sounds pretty good as well... well for me any job really would sound awesome, I am still doing the housewife thing. I am going today to ask once again if the medical dept. has finally cleared my papers so I can start working. I get impatient but then remember that this is a long term project and a week more or less won't change anything... I just feel like a blob sitting at home all day (except for the few hours I spend at the pool every day).

Anyhow, lots of hugs from the west side of your continent, Camy

Hey!

So we got a fridge at work, and just stocked it up.... wayyyy too much chocolate, chips and soda... at least I don't drink any soda that has sugar in...

But I had a chocolate... and at first I thought of freaking out, that my whole day's screwed, etc etc... but then I decided I would work it into my cals for the day... I have 320cals each day for treats, so I counted that, plus 1 dairy at 120cals and one fat portion for 50cals... damn, that chocolate contained 490cals!

Anyway, I will carry on my day as usual, and will not worry about this any more.

Just realised I'll REALLY have to make lunches every day now, if I am not to be tempted by the work fridge... at least we pay for whatever we take, so it's not like it's free.

Got running and then dancing after work. I'm hoping that my generally healthier lifestyle will be able to lose me the last 20 or so lbs...

Ugh, my mind is all flurried today. Feels icky, I prefer when I'm in control. Whenever I'm in a good patch, I marvel at how easy it is to just do all the things... if you JUST DO THEM.... know what I mean?

Later!

Anke, are you allowed to put your own stuff in the fridge? If so, then stock it with good stuff that you already paid for, so that is the only thing you go for. If not, then don't even open it. less temptation there.

I have a fridge at work, but it's only stocked by employees. I make sure that there is good stuff like raw veggies and skim milk and such. I won't go for anything else if I still have my stuff there, and if I don't feel like raw veggies, then I guess I'm not really hungry then.

Good morning, Anke! :)

"at first I thought of freaking out, that my whole day's screwed, etc etc... but then I decided I would work it into my cals for the day." AMAZING. HUGE sign of progress! Like Jz told me the other day, it just shows your dedication and commitment. This is a lifestyle change and we're BOUND to have yummy food. Great attitude! :)

Your HEALTHIER lifestyle WILL help you lose the 20lbs and keep you fit for the rest of your life :)

I can totallyyyy relate on being flurried. I hate those days I just feel all frazzled. Hope the day winds down for you :)

Great advice in here!

Seems like you're shying away from the destructive "all or nothing" mentality--nice! Staying on track CAN include "slip ups," and you're doing the right thing by accounting for the chocolate. Consciousness, babe-- ;)

:hurray:

I used to buy my lunch, but have got into the habit of making it, and feel so much better for it. And am saving money, and time.

Hope you enjoyed the running, I am just off to the treadmill myself. It's too hot and humid to run outside here - I sweat just walking the dogs!!

Take care,

Frankie

I ran 3.2km (1.988 miles) in 25mins yesterday! That was around a 400m (1/4 of a mile) field 8 times, at a constant jogging/running pace. Felt good... now going to work on improving it :)

Belly dancing last night was really good... we're practising for our "grade 1 exam" in 3 weeks time, hehe.

Ugh, I hate being so tight with cash lately :( Since we moved out... stuff costs lots of money, and I end up leaning on my boyfriend by the end of the month... so disempowering. Especially as he then feels I should do more domestic stuff... :/

Anyway, getting a little excited about my interview with the employment agent on Thursday... could mean better pay, better location, better job... :)

Good luck on the employment scene. My wife just went to a head hunter also. Finally getting sick of being promised positions only to have yet another corporate re-shuffle take the position away.

Good for you on both B/D and running. sounds like your doing great on the exercise scene.

Anke, nice job with the running. Are you finding it easier with the weather getting warmer and the days getting longer? I did up till it actually got hot. Then it was too much to get out during the heat. I had to go early or not at all.

So glad it feels good to you! I'll only get addicting! :)

Interesting, tell me more :bigear:

Oooh that sucks :( What a pain! Things ARE so expensive. I made the mistake of supporting a local health foods co-op and paid $90 for stupid groceries that should not have been that much! ARGH!

Good luck with the job!
