Angela's Diary

Wednesday, 9:38 a.m.
*Yawn* I need a nap. I decided that since I was not successful at getting my exercise in the afternoons, I woud jump on it first thing. So, I was at the gym when it opened at 6:00 this morning. Glad I did, actually. I feel better than I do most mornings. I was actually hungry this morning (post work-out) so I ate three pancakes (silver dollar ones, not plate sized ones, lol) with sugar-free syrup and a few sprinkled nuts. Very tasty, very filling. AND it's not even 10 yet and I've already had 5 glasses of water. I feel pretty good.

Things are a bit stressful at the moment. Lots of changes to take care of, lots of paperwork to fill out, etc. Sometimes I'm not sure how I am gonig to get it all done. I'm one of those endless organizers that ensures all "i"s are dotted and all "t"s are crossed. I feel like I am forgetting something - or going to forget something - and that annoys me. On a positive note, the kiddos are finally settling into a routine, which makes their little dispositions that much sweeter. I can certainly live with one less stressor. It helps mommy stay on track. :D My oldest girl (she'll be 10 in August) asked me this morning if I was working out to be skinny or strong. I said both. She then asked me what I thought I'd look like skinny. I told her I had no idea, as I have never been skinny. Lol, she said, "I think you'll be hot!" Hot? WTF? No more TV for her! lol

I am not a big work out in the morning guy. Good for you if you are or become one. I just cannot get the energy level to where it needs to be in the morning.
I absolutely hate if I think I am forgetting something. I have a project starting next week and I know the idiots at the office are going to miss something and screw me in my absence. I am a control freak- to quote Nicolas Cage in "Con Air"- "I trust 2 people and one of them is not you".

WTG on the TV. I do not know what I will do, but my brother's kids are raised on the TV and I do not ant to do that.
Take it away or reduce it, she will be better off for it:D.
At least that is what I say from 400 miles north- I do not have to deal with her!

Oh, I definitely limit the TV. They each pick one show, 30 minutes, then tv goes off. The little one ALWAYS goes for Spongebob.

lol, he'll still think you are the strongest daddy ever. I remember when I was a kid I thought my dad was so big and tall and tough. As an adult, I realize he's not as huge as I had thought he was . . . but as a kid, I thought he could beat up Superman if he wanted to. :D

Oh, I lie to my kids all the time. I tell them that I can lift the car over my head, I can lift the house, I'm 140 million years old and I lived with the dinosaurs. They learned at a very young age not to believe everything Dad says. :)

As for TV, we have one with a DVD player and we'll make regular stops to the library to get books and DVDs. Now that they are reading independently, they don't mind getting only one DVD a week. School, on the other hand will think nothing of putting on a movie during indoor recess. That gets me.:willy_nilly:

Oh, I wanted to hit that snooze and snuggle back under the blankets. It would be great if I could become a morning work-outer (is that even a word? I don't think so.)

Too funny! I used to use that Nick Cage line.

I know a lot of people that use the tube for primary entertainment, babysitting, etc. I can do without it. I'd rather have music, anyway. :D

That is only because Spongebob is awesome!!
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea???

She likes to sing the theme song as it's coming on . . . can you just hear her now? Top of her lungs: Bob, Bob, Pants, Pants!!

Oh, I know! I've picked up Bri from daycare before and they are letting them watch movies on a pretty day! Thanks to me and a couple of other mommies, the daycare no longer does that. :D

Sweetie,
The line is "Spongebob Squarepants!".....

Either your daughter is messing it up or you are not paying attention...
It is a very educational show, you may learn something.:D

I know- it is sad that I do not have children and I know the entire song....

Lazy ass people. Drives me nuts.
My wife is a preschool teacher and has worked at daycare.
This kind of stuff is why she will never work at another daycare again unless she absolutely has too- it drives her nuts
The reason America has severely obese childern at the age of 4 is because of this mentality...

I was always a 'big' kid- but I played outside for hours a day in the summer....

By todays standards I would have been skinny....

All I have to say is thanks for nothing, I have the Spongebob theme running through my head now...

She's messing it up. She just turned 3. Everyone in my house calls him Bob-Bob. I think it's kinda cute and I will be sad when she learns how to say it properly. Hehe, she even does that "playing the flute" thing on her nose like he does.

That and everyone oversizes everything. I've already decided that from now on, when I eat out, I'm ordering from the kids' menu. lol That's generally a good portion for an adult, but it usually is not a good portion for a kid.

Aww, you're welcome sweetie. *sings to ali* "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Bob-Bob, Pants, Pants. Absorbent and yellow and porous is he . . . Bob-Bob, Pants, Pants . . . "

Bet that made it worse, didn't it? lol

I have this uncontrollable wish for nautical nonsense...

Look what you've done to me.
If nautical nonsense is something you wish then you need to drop on the deck and flop like a fish..
Apparantly anyway- makes little or no sense to me.

My work here is done....:D

Another good thing for the kids is to get something for them off the appetizer menu. Many places can even make the entree appetizer sized. That way you aren't getting the same old crap for the kids. Chicken fingers and the like.

Good idea . . . however . . . I have noticed that most appetizers are fried and/or not what I want them to eat anyway. What I have done in the past is order a healthy, grilled, adult meal and shared it with my kiddos. :) Saves us all.

Another dreary, rainy day. I wonder if anyone is selling any sunshine on eBay? It's worth a look. I've seen someone selling snow before. lol

I really do not feel like being in the office today. I want to go home and take a leisurely swim and then take a nap. I am sick of gray days. Grrr. Really, it hasn't been that awful, but when it rains 3 or 4 out of 7 days a week, you start thinking that you will never see the sunshine again. I find that the gray days are hardest to stay on track. I see the gloom and I want to snack. I have no idea why this is and it bothers me that something so small could throw me off. At least there is power in knowledge - I know I am in for a difficult day (food-wise) so I've armed myself with supplies: Fresh fruit, a few healthy low-cal snacks, and Crystal Light to help me get my water in. I have to behave and therefore I will keep in mind that I have to weigh in tomorrow morning for the challenge and I want something good to report. I did really well last week (4.2) but I seriously doubt I will be that successful this week. I'll be happy with a 1 lb. loss. Down is always better than up. I think my trouble this week stems from the fact that I have not exercised as I should have. I mean I did exercise but not consistently. I need to take Steve's advice and put an exercise calendar on my fridge. That just may be my ticket to getting me arse out the door and to the gym.

Just seeing your post is sunshine for us, darlin' :puke:

I hear you about the exercise. I'm finding it easier to make excuses to not exercise then excuses to do it. Today I'm supposed to go to the gym to lift. There are just so many other things that I have to do today. Don't think I'll be home till 9:00. Ready made excuse. Hopefully you can find the time to make that last push before tomorrow's weigh in.

Well, that was sweet until the :puke: lol

Late days are usually my excuse, too. I've actually been thinking of asking my boss if I can get off an hour earlier in the afternoons if I work thru lunch. Then I'd get home an hour earlier and will have time (and thus no excuses) before the kiddos come home. Don't know if that will fly but I won't know until I ask.

If you are told that you can't do that, just go work out on your lunch, come back all sweaty and then ask again. You might get what you want, then. :biggrinjester:
