Goal-
Lose 60lbs

My Mission:
I did attempt weight-loss a few years ago but I was under-educated about how to live healthy etc, it did go well for a few months but motivation lacked and I eventually gave up. But now I'm back with an optimistic view on things and with your help I can achieve my goal! I lack support from my parents because there both slim and don't know how it feels on the other side, I've tried talking to them and all sorts but in all fairness there both stubborn so I'm hoping to get support from you guys! I'm sure I'll no doubt whine and moan on here because how hard it will be but I need you guys to put me straight haha!

My Background-
I'm Amy and I'm 16, I currently attend college doing Interactive Media (Nerdy stuff!) and I admit I have a weight issue which needs to be sorted. I started gaining weight since the age of 6, nothing traumatic happened to me though but I put my hands up for comfort eating because I eat when I'm upset/angry or even bored which is terrible. Anywho, I did get teased at the begining of highschool until I stood up for myself. Since then I've grown alot of friendships and people started to respect me more. I have 5 other brothers and sisters 3 are older two are younger, and there all slim so I'm the odd one out haha.

My Plans-
I hope to be going to the gym twice a week starting from next week. If I have the time I will up it to three times a week (I have college so it's a maybe). I will be cutting back on my huge portions I usually have and have small but regular meals and drink plenty of water. I admit this is going to be a daunting task but that's why I'm here! Then when I'm a few lbs away from my goal weight I'll be doing muscular training to tighten up the loose muscles and such.

Day 1 - 08 Jan 2009
I've cut back on portions today and I feel great about it. I have been changing my lifestyle for about a week now and in all I've lost 4lbs which is a really shocker because I havn't started the gym yet. I have also cut out red meat from my diet (not forever) but I've replaced it with fish & white meat which is healthier option. And I've replaced my usual Cola with good old fashioned water, but occasionally I will have a glass of diet cola so my body don't go all crazy on me.
Meals Today-
Breakfast: Low fat cereal bar.
Lunch: Low fat Tuna mayonnaise roll.
Tea (Dinner in the USA): Cooked Dinner (Turkey, Veg's) Small Portion!
Current Weight: 196lbs

WOW! Well done Amy. Now I feel like a lump of shit because I cheated BAD on my diet today, and after reading this I feel even worse. I even went to the gym today but I had to spoil it didn't I? Well amy your doing great so far. I'm sure if you carry on like this you will reach your goal no doubt. Good luck anyway :)
 
:hurray: Rock on Amy! You're doing sooo awesome! 4 pounds is huge right off the back. Pretty soon you'll be 60 pound lighter :D

Don't feel guilty! We're all allowed a "cheat" day, I'll be having one cheat day a week to balance it out but I won't be going mad with cheat days though, just something I've craved in a small amount. I read an article here somewhere saying why it's important to have cheat days, if I find the link I'll PM it to you :)

And well done for going to the gym, atleast your making the effort hun!
 
Update!

I've managed to lose yet another 1lb! I feel great too! This is going great for me. I don't know why the weight is dropping off me so fast I havn't even done any drastic changes or anything, is this healthy? That's 3lbs this week!

I'm so happy that you've decided to start while your so young. Get into good habits now and be happy the rest of your life.

Just wait until you get serious at the gym. That 60 lbs will burn off of you like... umm.. *insert witty analogy here*.
 
Rock on with the pound there! Sometimes when you are first starting out you'll lose weight very rapidly. But it'll stabilize over time to probably around a pound a week on average. If you're feeling healthy, I wouldn't worry about it :)

Day 2 - 09 Jan 2009

I feel so great today even though I havn't started the gym yet I'm still managing to lose weight! It's great! I weren't going to post today because of my lack of activity but I decided to post in the end, I mean I am going to exercise starting next week. I weighed myself again today (bad idea to weigh AGAIN A DAY AFTER) but it was good news, I'm now 195 which is hovering in the 13st area which is great because a week ago I was hovering in the 14st area.
Noms Today! -
Breakfast: Nothing, Woke up too late! *Shame*
Lunch: Tuna Salad with one wholemeal roll.
Tea (Dinner in the USA): Pre-made Small Yorkshire Pudding meal (Roast Potatoes, Carrots, Peas, Yorkshire Pudding)

Hey there chica. stopping by to see how it's going. 3 lbs in a week isnt' abnormal for the first bit. some of that is possibly water weight and your body adjusting to different eating/exercising habits.
Great job so far though.:hurray:

Day 3 - 10 Jan 2009

I didn't have any sleep what-so-ever last night, which I regret now. As I'm typing this I'm practically sleeping lol. Just thought I should update you guys, good news my motivation is still going strong! I can do this! Also I went on a mad shopping spree which was awesome, got some sexy clothes! I bought this stunning dress which doesn't fit me I thought it would because I'm a size (UK) 14 and the dress was also, but I got to consider it was silk so yeah, that dress is my goal to fit into in the new few weeks it shouldn't be hard to accomplish if I carry on with the good work.
I've managed to succesfully resist all temptations with a simple sentance in my head "Don't do it" pretty simple I know but it's effective!

Meals today-
Breakfast: Half a grapefruit, Wholemeal Ham roll.
Lunch: Wholemeal Tuna baugette (6") with salad.
Dinner: Baked Potatoe with coleslaw & a small bit of cheese.

Drinks & Snacks: No snacks today :), fluids I had mainly water but I did have a few glasses of cranberry juice!
 
Good on you, Amy. Doing so well so far!! Incentives such as your new dress are a great way to stay motivated. And I know all about been the odd sibling out, my older brother and little sister both are of slight build, then you have me!! I cant wait to hear about your progress!

Day 4 - 11th Jan 2009

I feel guilty today! I had a good few glasses cranberry juice I know why I feel guilty, it's because it tastes sweet so it don't feel like another day of me changing my lifestyle, bleh it's hard to explain. Anyway I havn't done exercise today simple fact because I havn't started the gym until next week and I was out all day so couldn't go jogging or anything.

I managed to keep onto my diet fine! Here's my meals today;
Breakfast: Nothing, woke up late?!
Lunch: Sunday dinner (Small Portion, don't panic!)
Dinner: Tuna & Sweetcorn with salad sandwich.

Snacks: Bio yogurt (Fills me up!), fluids I had water & cranberry juice!
