Amy's Diary--March Madness Edition

So I'm soldiering on... But I've hit the time where I've kinda lost the excitement. I know it will pass, if I can only survive it. Tomorrow is weigh in day, the scale has been slightly up all week, so I'm not expecting much. I've got to remember that sometimes the scale is a lying SOB that doesn't always accurately reflect how good or not good I've been.

My eating was right on target for the day...feel like I'm making good food choices and eating healthily. I've had a hard time meeting the fitness points goal each day this week. I ended up walking in place in front of the TV to get my steps in last night. Which is a huge accomplishment. I think that my thyroid levels are out of whack again because all I want to do is sleep lately. I overslept for a meeting with my director this morning, luckily she is very laid back and didn't mind waiting on me. <sighs> It's always something. Also, because I overslept and subsequently was hurrying to get ready this morning, I totally spaced weighing myself. I will do it tomorrow morning instead. Still not expecting much, even though I've been very good this week.

So this was a good day generally. I did some cleaning around the house, balanced our checkbook, did some laundry, watched a lot of March madness. I never took my pajamas off the entire day! Still managed to hit my fitness points goal by walking in place several times throughout the day. I can't wait for it to warm up just a tad bit more.

I woke up this morning with a bit of a headache, still managed to make it to church for second service and out to lunch with my hubby and my sister. Now we're back home. The plan for the day, some more cleaning, some more laundry and some more March madness.

My little dark cloud seems to have passed; and I feel like I'm in a good place right now. Mondays are always my low step count day, but I managed to hit my fitness points target! Our server went down at work...after being down 2 days last week. It's so frustrating when I'm already behind and Mondays are usually my big "desk day." This time, I took it as an opportunity to get outside for a little walk and when I came back in everything was working again. So...yay me!
 
Today has been the worst day at work. Frustrating, infuriating, demanding...I'm pretty much over my job at this moment.

But I am still following my plan. I went for a brisk walk instead of buying junk at the gas station. Go me.

As mentioned before, yesterday was not a great day at work. I am incredibly proud of how I handled the stress of the day.

Now today will be a better day. It has to be.

I was running late for a meeting this morning so I didn't get my lunch packed. I'm planning to get a fast food salad with grilled chicken. I did grab a banana on the way out the door, so it will be my afternoon snack.
 
I've read your whole thread and while I'm not overly familiar with the point system, it seems to me like you're killing it. Way to go!
 
Thanks, Cory! Basically, every food is assigned a point value. WW has a formula that uses calories, fat, saturated fat, carbs, sugar, protein and fiber to assign that point value. Each person has their own amount of target points to eat each day, based on his/her current weight, gender, activity level, and some other thing or two I can't think of right now. :) You are supposed to eat your target points every day...not any less. Each is also allowed a weekly allotment of points that can be used as needed. You don't have to eat them but if there is a 'hungry' day or a special occasion you have those to fall back on--once they're gone for the week then you only eat your daily target points until a new week starts. Each person also has a fitness points goal to work towards each week. I'm still learning about the fitness part of it; as exercise has not really been 'my thing' in the past. The WW app allows me to find or figure points values while I'm out and about; there is also a bar code scanner that will read the bar code and give the points value while at the grocery store. (I looove that feature!) I can also track my fitness activities and my food intake on the app. So far I've been very pleased with the program.

I lost 3 stone with WW in 2012/2013, I loved it :) It really taught me about portion control and the importance of upping my fruit and veg (coz they were zero ha ha, is it still the case?) . Good luck with it!!!

Yep, fruits and most veggies are still 0 point foods. And I do eat more of them for that very reason!

So today was weigh in day...up 2/10 of a pound. I've been expecting it because there hasn't been much fluctuation on a day-to-day basis. However, I still don't like it. Daggone it...I was good all week, I should have had a loss. But alas, I didn't. Anywhoo...on to the next week.

Today is my and Big Fred's 27th wedding anniversary. <3 <3 <3 And my mom and pop will be back home tomorrow after being snowbirds for the last three months. And Sunday is Easter. Lots and lots of reasons to overeat this weekend. I am planning to make good choices and hoping for the best! I'm feeling really good about the weekend...I can celebrate without eating unhealthy food!
