Actually, I have only a head shot of me from the party, but my friend got some others, so hopefully she will send them to me and I can share them.
Kimberly, my husband and I met in college and he scarred me for life the day we met. (No joke. He somehow caught the upper part of my hand with his fingernail, gouging out flesh and I still have the scar. He literally made his mark on me!)
We were just friends for 2 years before we fell for each other. But by then, he was 3 months from graduating and I had two years left, so we hung out but did not get into a relationship. He graduated and moved back to virginia. We had phone calls and IMs but we never talked about being in a relationship.
On my birthday 6 months after he left, he sent me a teddy bear and a spiderman toy with a note saying "Something to cuddle in my absence and something to remind you you're my hero."
I called him and thanked him (and cried) and he asked if he could see me over spring break. (I was going home with a friend from boston for the week.) So, he took the train from virginia to boston and we picked him up at the train station. We hugged, then just hung out all night.
The next day we went to the boston museum of art, and when we got back to our friend's house, he walked upstairs to the room I was staying in and hugged me outside my door. I let go and he did not. He whispered, "If I move back, will you still have me?"
I told him I'd have him even if he didn't. He moved back 3 weeks later and we started planning our wedding. (We never dated. We were friends, then friends who liked each other, and then we were together and it was IMMEDIATELY serious.) We got married 11 months after he came to boston.
So, that's our "romantic" story.
