AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

Good luck resisting all of it! When my mom and I make craploads of xmas cookies, I get so sick of them that the last thing I want to do is eat them. I hope you feel that same way..lol.

Walked 6 miles today with husband. Worked out 40 minutes at gym. Tired. Hurting.

I think that makes up for the cookies.

Actually, I did weights first, then the long walk...which was only supposed to be 3 miles...but wasn't.

I weighed in today at 1.6 pounds less than last Friday! So I think the week off did its job. If I had gone Friday to Friday like I normally do, I really would have been lower! I weigh in again next Monday and then it will be Mondays from then on.

hiya

Well done on the 1.6lb loss!!! and in half the week what ever you did to get out of that rough patch really worked well done you
and you def walked those cookies off 6 miles and a gym session you must be mad and VERY determind!!!

I made mine with whole wheat flour, but I used real sugar.

Rah, I wasn't mad...or particularly determined...I did the gym session because I am taking advantage of a free week at Contours. Then I came home and my husband wasn't doing anything. We took walks together all the time in the summer, but it has been hard to find time since school started (I teach, he takes classes). So I asked him to take a walk. He said ok, he wanted to show me a "new bike path" he had found. I did not ask how far away it was...my mistake!!! We walked 6 miles and it was dark and freezing before we got home! But hey, I got my 28,789 steps in yesterday! And lost 1.6 lbs today. So, no regrets...just some tired legs.

Today was a HORRIBLE food day. I probably gained back everything I had lost at weigh in yesterday. It was Halloween potluck breakfast at school. I did have some control. I ate NO donuts, bagels, cookies, cupcakes or fruity cobblery things.

I DID eat a breakfast burrito, a cinnamon roll, a biscuit with homemade apple butter, a serving of sausage hashbrown casserole and a piece of zucchini bread. Part of that was at breakfast and part at lunch, since it was still there at lunch time. Way too many carbs, way too much sugar.

I am glad the holiday challenge is starting this weekend, hopefully it'll straighten me out after all the crap I ate today!!

On the plus side, I did go on a 1.5 mile walk with my husband and I bought ten 1-serving size frozen veggie trays to eat at work. I need to stop eating yogurt, fruit and starch as my lunch every day. It is not holding me over like a meat and a veggie does. So...I fixed that.

Also...my darling husband noticed my desperate desire to join a gym. I had found one I liked, Cox Meyer Center, run by the local hospital. It is AWESOME, with a lap pool, a warm water therapy pool, a sauna, steam room, seperate jacuzzis for men and women, basketball, raquetball, cardio theater, free weights, weight machines, a rubberized walking track, yoga classes, everything I could ever want to do. But, a bit pricy. UNTIL I discovered that my employer has a corporate account there so I won't have to pay an enrollment fee if I let them do payroll deduction!!!!! Yippy! Also, I get a MUCH cheaper monthly fee. I asked my husband if we could adjust the budget to allow for $35 a month (without corporate discount, it is $57) and he told me to go sign up!

I am SO excited. We are going to go workout for the first time tomorrow. (My spouse and any dependants under 23 can go with me, except I have no dependants!) I was so worried that he would say we couldn't afford it. But, I would have kept going with my free trial schemes, so I would have been ok. I am just really happy to know I have a place to work out. (Actually, 5 places, they run a main one and four subsidiaries around the area and I can go to any of them.)

Congrats on losing 1.6lbs!! And that is awesome about the gym deal--that is really cheap! Don't worry about your eating today--it's just one day, and you'll work it off at the gym. :)

Hi Amber!
That's totally awesome about the gym deal! I'm happy for you, I hope you enjoy it there. :]
And as for the eating, I agree with what Kimberly said. You enjoyed yourself for a day, don't beat yourself up over it dear. :]

Well, I worked out last night, weights and cardio, then went back for more cardio today. Yay for gyms!!!

I have been tracking my calories (as practice for the bonus points on the holiday challenge), and I think I am not eating enough. Yesterday I came in at under 1300 calories. I shall adjust.

Glad you're enjoying the gym! If I was only eating 1300 calories a day, I'd notice bc I'd be STARVING HUNGRY!! lmao.

I worked out 40 minutes today. I did 1 mile on the lap track, lifted weights and did gymnoball exercises.

I ate a grand total of 1360 calories and 44 grams of fat.

I would have been higher in calories, but I slept today until 1:00. Then this evening, developed a very sudden sickness, where I am congested, can't breathe and am running a low grade fever. It seriously happened from feeling fine to being sick in a half hour. I hope it is short lived! So, after about 6, I did not feel like eating much. I made myself eat a bit, but not too much.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. :ack2: Nice job at the gym, though. :)

Yeah, I was feeling well at the gym, hadn't gotten stuffy yet.

I would have worked out more, but I was running late already (babysat for a friend tonight), so I had to cut the cardio short. I got all my weights in, just would have walked a couple more miles if I'd had the time.

Depending on how I feel tomorrow, I may go to the gym and swim. I love to swim and all day sunday the warm water therapy pool is open swim! I haven't swam since early august when, as you may remember, the apartment pool turned slimy green. If I can get 20 minutes of laps in tomorrow and some sauna time, I'll be a very pleased Amber. But, if I have a fever, I will probably stay home. No use pushing it and making myself sicker.

Oh, I told Sheryl over a week ago that I would post a picture of my jack-o-lantern! I took the pictures and uploaded them to the computer, but I keep forgetting to post them. So, better late than never, right?? Here's my smily pumpkin!
