Ok - butt spankin new to the forum. I'm gonna go ahead and jump in face first! I start my new life tomorrow and I want to be prepared to have to document it so that i'll stay focused. I've got my mind made up! I'm so tired of being fat! I'm so tired of buying fat clothes... nothing is ever cute!! & I'm oddly shaped, so I have to buy baggy pants! My bottom half is MUCH bigger than my top half! I only have A boobs too!!! I think I'm the fattest person I know with NO boobs!!!!!! It's depressing! Anyway, I stole this survey off of Alleria's journal - I love questionnaires! (and exclamation points)

1. What is your current height and weight?
My height is 5'6 - my weight is about 250 - I don't have a scale yet so I'm basing it off of my last weigh in of 240 + eating a ton of fast food :(

2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
Probably 150-160

3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
Hopefully 190-200! I sure am gonna bust my tail to get there!

4. Why do you want to lose weight?
I'm tired of being fat??? I'm tired of wearing fat clothes. I want to go swimming this summer, too! I want to look in the mirror and say DAMN IM SEXY! :)

5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
Well, we're planning on going to hawaii this summer and I definitely aint going if im fat, what a life ruiner!!!!!!!

6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
The 5 McDonalds that I pass on my way to and from work........ that's about it.

7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
I eat because I'm bored - and I don't do ANY kind of physical activity!

8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
No more crappy food!!! No sodas, MORE water and hitting up the gym monday through friday!

9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
Eating properly and exercising like a mofo!

10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
Cause I love to eat for no reason.... I haven't been HUNGRY in ages - because I never allow myself to feel it... cause I'm always eating something!!

11. What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work?
Me - being too dependent on food for support. It didn't work obviously because I'm lazy and didn't work it off.

12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
I plan on it.

13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
No, I actually despise cooking and that's gonna get me in trouble! I need to start cooking mass amounts of food and separating them into baggies/tupperware for throughout the week.

14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
Heh - almost every day? McDonalds, Sonic, Los Reyes, Buffalo Wild Wings - it just depends!!

15. What are your three favorite foods?
anything involving potatoes, pizza and asian cuisines!

16. What are your three favorite restaurants?
Buffalo Wild Wings, Milanos and Nagasaki.

17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
Stop eating fried junk food, fewer carbs and no more dang soda!!

18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
Everything, I wouldn't eat anything horrible, I'd exercise 2 hours a day! Life would be different and I'd be thankful for it.

19. Do you eat when you are not hungry?
Yes

20. Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
Yes

21. Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
no

22. Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?
Yes

23. Do you eat as a reward?
Yes

Yes

25. What do you normally eat for a meal?
#1 supersized.... ugh I hate myself!!

26. What type of snacks do you eat?
Whatever is handy - crackers, chips, candy

27. In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
Nothing right now - I do have a gym membership to a 24 hour gym that I drive RIGHT past on my way home from work. I'm using it starting tomorrow!

28. Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?
Public Gym - 24 hour fitness

29. What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
Oh, I don't have a favorite right now - do you know how hard it is to even walk in the door? Lol. Hopefully I'll lose most of my weight and let my gym membership expire and then I can join a gym that offers classes - dance classes, spin classes etc. Cause I'd like to take dance classes!!

30. What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?
Well - once I reach my ultimate goal I'm going to reward myself with a TT & Boobies!! Everyone gets mad when I tell them that but hey I've never had boobs and I'm fat - so there's no way I'm ever gonna get them unless I buy them! & If it makes ME happy then why do you even care!!

31. Do you have rewards for certain goals?
I wasn't even thinking about 'short term' goals because I might get too excited with that one specific goal and then get lax about working out/eating properly. I guess for every 3 dress sizes lost I could buy new clothes!!?! Clothing motivates me!

So there is that - I need to go out and buy some food and a scale. I'm going to edit this later tonight - possibly tomorrow with my current weight & inches to keep track of things throughout my experience. I might even snap some photos but of course I'm not going to post them until I lose some weight - how embarrassing!! I'm so excited for my new journey - I hope I don't get discouraged again.....

anyway just ate breakfast at work

going to eat lunch and dinner here, too!!

I even got up 20 minutes early to cook brown rice and veggies to go with my chicken that I cooked last night...

I feel so productive...

yet sleepy!!

I need to find somewhere to record everything I've eaten - besides fitday - i think that place makes up it's own calories vs. whats on the box - i dunno i'll play around with it and see.

I'm so effin tired of being fat ugh gross.

Welcome to the W-L forum!

Here's some advice with the soda (since you mentioned it a few times in your survey). Don't go cold turkey on it! I was a HUGE soda drinker. I seriously had 1-2 cans daily if not more. I tried going cold turkey but it didn't work for me. I was just craving it so badly. Try to ween yourself off. Allow yourself soda 1-2 times a week and then decrease from there :) About 3-4 months ago, I was drinking 1-2 cans daily. Then I started allowing myself to have it once or twice in a week and now I just never crave it. I always carry my water bottle with me so if I'm out eating, instead of getting soda (and spending more money) I already have water. :)

You also seem to live off of fast food, which I did the SAME thing. I probably ate out at least 1-2 daily. It was HORRIBLE. Again, ween yourself off! Even now, I let myself eat out once a week. :) Never deprive yourself completely from a food/beverage because after a while you'll go crazy. It's all about portion control and everything in moderation. :)

An awesome website I use to record what I eat (and what I exercise) is Sparkpeople.com. It's AMAZING and I love it :)

Anyways, good luck on your journey :) Don't get discouraged. Whenever you do, just swing by this place. It has been SO motivating for me and the people here are simply amazing. I will definitely stop by and check up on you from time to time :)

PS - Way to make the first few steps to a healthy lifestyle: waking up early and making yourself a healthy meal. Good job!

I really like reading the questionnaire in the beginning so I know a bit about the person I am writing to. You can do this! Keep telling yourself you can and you can even use my personal leitmotif: "Don't be shit, be AMAZING!"

It will be long and it will be slow but as soon as you see some difference you will be so motivated and just keep picturing yourself in those nice skinny clothes. Being ready to really lose it is a huge step, I tried losing weight but was never really set on it until this time, so being sure that this is YOUR time is a wonderful thing.

Ugh - so I half ass counted calories today and ended up eating 1388 .... and I was aiming for 1000-1200....

I can't be *too* annoyed with it because it could have been MUCH worse. I know!

Perhaps I can do 1400 one day 1200 the next then 1400 then 1000.... to fake out my metabolism... to get it goin a little?? I don't know how the metabolism works - I just know mine is out of order :(

Oh, I didn't go to the gym today either. Something about working 12 hours a day really just kills it?? I wanted to go but ohhhhhhhhhhh I am just way too tired. So I came home & put my food together for tomorrow so I can wake up later- get ready for work grab the bag and leave!

Hopefully I won't get too unmotivated to go to the gym tomorrow, I'm gonna be so mad at myself if I don't go....

Now, how does a fatty get into running? I thought we weren't supposed to do that because of the added pressure on the joints? I always have dreams where I'm running running running and I think I'd truly love it - but I'm scared to cause uhhhhhhhhhh I'm fat & people would think we're having an earthquake ;(. I'd have to do it when nobody is around for sure. Perhaps my boyfriend will attempt it with me.... we'll see!

Well, today was pretty decent.

I only ate 936 calories today - I wasn't really "starving" either - I mean now that I think about it I'm not even that hungry now! & I haven't eaten since 6pm.


Ah well - I even went to the gym today but I only worked out for 25 minutes - heh... for some odd reason I got crampy? I was trying to just push through it but it got really really bad... like I literally had to stop and run to the bathroom because I thought I was going to throw up from pain... it felt like period cramps but i dunno i tried to wait it out but they weren't easing up! So I just went home... sigh.

I got my food ready for tomorrow - eeek it's gonna be way more than 936 calories lol...

That's okay though, I have faith in the fact that even though my exercise has been crappy I will still lose weight from the food I've been eating VS. the big mac I'd prefer to be eating.


Which reminds me - I got offered a taco, a cupcake and a free meal from mcdonalds!! I politely declined all of them! I feel so proud of myself - one day (not anytime soon) I'll be able to indulge a bit - it's just too risky right now....

I ate about 1400 calories - all nutritious and delicious - the day started off relatively well then progressively got worse and worse - needless to say I was much too "exhausted" to go to the gym.

What a lame ass excuse, I hate myself!

Oh and I am overly dramatic sometimes......... ok a lot of times.

Anyway, it pisses me off at work when people get behind on their work and then ask me to help them catch up - which puts ME behind on my work to where I have to stay late OFF THE CLOCK to finish my shit up!!!! However, they left more than 2 hours ago without offering to help me with my shit. What the fuck ever!

Anyway, I made my breakfast lunch and dinner for tomorrow - I don't think I am eating enough healthy fats? I haven't been entering my food/calories into any tracker but I am keeping track of calories only... I want to get a handle on that before I go into counting protein, fats and carbs.

Either way, I'll probably post my weekly meals this Sunday when I'm not pissed off from work.

I also cheated and weighed myself - it's down 5 lbs which means I'm retaining water :( sigh...
 
Hey, great to see you started a journal for yourself. Don't be too hard on yourself about yesterday, everyone has their off days (I know I've had plenty). I definitely understand about people like that though... want help, but damned if they do anything for you in return! Seems like your doing pretty good other than that, although I'm a little worried about your calorie intake? Here's a that might help you. Oh, and if you still haven't found a good site to put your daily food in, to help you keep track of your calories, fat, fiber, protein, etc... try fatsecret.com, I really like that one. Keep up the nice work, you can definitely do this!!
 
Hey thanks for the advice!

I've also done the calorie calculator thing... my BMR is about 2000 so I'm trying to cut about 500-600 calories out a day. Right now I'm not very "active" obviously... but I hope to get back into the swing of things really really soon...

I'm trying to find out more information on changing the caloric intakes and the benefits it plays on your body... like one week I'll eat strictly 1500 calories a day... and then the next week eat 1500 monday then 1000 the next two or three days then go from there you know? I'm gonna do some "research" on the matter and come back! Thanks for the websites!! :)

I wonder if your body has to detox from junk food and perhaps that's why i'm being such a bitch these past 2 days?

either way - i haven't eaten anything remotely unhealthy since monday.

I sure do want to though....

Great job on saying no to junky, crabby food. Give yourself a month with this lifestyle. But of course, allow yourself SOME fun food. I allowed myself some "yummy" food once a week. If I didn't, I would go crazy at SOME point and just binge. Anyway, allow yourself a month just eating healthy. Then eat something unhealthy and you'll definitely feel the difference. I had a cheeseburger and seasoned fries from Denny's the other day. OMG I felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick afterwards. All the grease!!

You're doing great :) What time do you start and end work? On days I have work or classes, I make myself work-out before because otherwise, I get lazy afterwards and don't do anything. It's hard getting up earlier but totally worth it.

i really hope you'll meet your goals :) however i am also a bit worried about your caloric intake. i think it might be too low for you. the weight loss is all about combination of caloric deficit and exercise. check out some of these sticky threads. they've helped me sooo much.

What time do you start and end work?


I kind of literally work all day - I have 2 jobs and I live 45 minutes away from them. So, I leave my house at 7:20am start work at 8 and then get off work at 7pm and don't get home until about 7:50 - 8:00... which is why I opted for the 24 hour gym that I drive right past on my way home - so I won't have to actually go out of my way to get there - I'm just being lazy! I, however, used to be on a weightloss kick and went every weekday after work for about 2 hours. So, I am capable of doing it - I just need to stop bitching out and get back to work :(

Yeah, I'm going to re evaluate my meal plan this weekend. I'm not really exercising though so it's not like my body really needs 2000+ calories honestly. If I WERE exercising I could see how that could turn into a huge problem.

But, I'm going to look into it this weekend because I also need to UP my protein by umm a lot...

:iagree: I think getting started is the hardest part. I have been trying to lose weight for so long, and every time I found a new diet/program it seemed like motivating myself to really get into a routine was the hardest part. Just make the gym a daily thing so there is no option of whether or not you can go. That's what helped me the most anyway. Good luck!!

I'm down 9 lbs. Sigh, silly water weight!!

Oh and I had popcorn at the movie theatre last night... and a few sips of diet pepsi...

oh and I had 2 pieces of pizza afterwards :(

Oh well, it was good too! (& better than an entire bag of popcorn a large pepsi and 4 pcs of pizza :) )

I'm gonna go work out now :)
