no alcohol is a win win on New Years Eve . Looking forward to seeing your scales result today Rob . Your food looks good and filling yesterday . I like to see you eating well .
Yes I think I have high standards in kitchen cleaning and no one really meets them here lol . I get over it though !

Sounds like a common problem, no matter what continent you are on. I do try to cleanup after myself, but I suppose my clean up standards are not the same as my wife's, probably not the same as you either.

it’s reversed for me. I was the cleaner and tidier of the two in my marriage and now again with my current partner. I’m not a neat freak (I think) but I cannot stand a messy house or dirty dishes/bench etc.

Down 1 pound to 234, not a big loss, but I am happy, its the right direction. And it's 86 lbs less than I was last New Years Day, that feels very good.

I guess I am getting old, not only no alcohol last night but I was in bed asleep before midnight.

I'm all for uncovering harmful habits and redesigning our lives to lose surplus bagage in 2020
Thanks LaMa, well put, that is what I would like for 2020 as well.

Flyer, thanks for the NY post, you got there an hour after we did, and 2 or 3 hours after I was sound asleep.

Yes, I suppose it is, certainly a first for me. I didn't miss it at all last night.
I cannot stand a messy house or dirty dishes/bench etc.
I can live with some mess in my house, but not a lot of dirty dishes or unsanitary things. I guess in relationships people rarely have the same standards, its just a matter of trying to find a way to live together.

It snowed a bunch last night, guess I'll be plowing this morning, after the sun comes up and I get some coffee.

Happy New Year to all.

My neatest sister married an even neater man. Wonderful constellation for someone with a dust (mite) allergy!

Rob you should fill a few bags with potatoes or something equalling 86 lbs and see how much you have lost . I am always amazed with A 7lb bag of potatoes .
Congrats on a loss over Christmas and new year . Something to be proud of.

86 pounds and at least four sizes down... so good! 2019 - to be remembered as the year you drew the line, and made changes. :hurray:
And picking up on what you said about worry about weight gain: I don't think you need to worry, because this isn't just a fight with the scales to get down to a number, it's an actual change of how you live - how you eat and move - and that's going to stay, even after you hit the weight you want to stay at. On to 2020!

yeah... i remember doing this... i came home with a few bags of groceries, stepped on the scale and realized i had been carrying around that weight with me all day just a few months before. it really is a stunning realization. i was taking anti-inflammatory meds for my arthritis then, but i haven't taken a pill now in over a year. having lost ~60 lbs now from my average high of about 220, it's hard for me to even lift and hold that much for very long.

It was a good day, I ate well and feel good. A few more calories than yesterday, but not many. It was the wine, its New Year's Day, my excuse.

One of my wife's cousins and his wife dropped by today, he's a farmer and was out with his truck with a snowplow. They decided we could use some plowing and just did it. I still had to get out and do a little cleanup plowing, but it was a nice surprise. They brought us some freeze dried things made in their new freeze dryer. We liked his freeze dried peas, but the freeze dried ice cream and ice cream sandwiches were not impressive. All the calories of regular ice cream without the texture, it will make good dog treats. He and his wife are good Mormons and they believe in maintaining a 2 year supply of emergency food in case of Armageddon or the second coming or something, so they are always looking for ways to safely store food without refrigeration. I think that's the reason for the freeze dryer, wouldn't want to face Beelzebub without a good supply of heat resistant ice cream.

Thanks all for the support, losing the weight does feel good, but sometimes its hard to imagine the full 86 pounds. Petal and Flyer, I am not sure I could lift and carry 86 pounds of potatoes, not far anyway. Back when I was in my early 20s I carried a pack that weight about 100 lbs for a couple of miles. I doubt I could do that today.

1146 Biarmia is a metallic background asteroid found in the outer regions of the asteroid belt. It is approximately 32 kilometers in diameter and was discovered in 1929, by Russian astronomer Grigory Neujmin at the Simeiz Observatory on the Crimean peninsula. The asteroid was named for the Bjarmaland mentioned in Norse sagas. Bjarmaland was probably in northern Finland or adjacent Russia, if it actually existed.

LOL!
So nice that they plowed for you though--very thoughtful and kind! And i guess it's good that those freeze-dried ice cream things aren't going to be a temptation for you!

Generally not a fan of freeze-dried anything but if it helps them dampen the fear of death more power to 'em.

Lol at least you know freeze dried icecream is not good . It sounds really bizarre .

well Rob it’s great to think that you no longer have to carry all that weight around. I am totally happy dancing for you .
Your dinner sounds really nice yesterday.

Freeze-dried ice-cream? That does sound gross.
