Alligatorob's Diary

Taking your word for it that it's warmer there than in Utah! The water looks a trifle chilly from here. :) Fantastic and go, you, for sticking to your plan, and doing beautifully!

Off to the interior this morning. I may not be able to checkin for a couple of days, don't know about the friend I will be staying with tonight, but I am sure my cousin tomorrow has no internet service. Will checking as I can.

It was 23 C, the winter low for water here, I prefer warmer but it would have been ok. The picture was taken about 7 am, that's the reason no one is at the beach. By afternoon the beach and water was quite full of people.

Hope you have a lovely time with your friends and relatives. How nice in a way to be off grid for a while . Look forward to hearing all when you get back to land of technology

Thanks all! I have very limited internet access, at my cousin's house now. Food is good so far, but I can see tonight's dinner will be a challenge.

Have fun with your cousin Rob.

You’ve got this! I’m sure you’ll do just fine. IF you do eat more/“worse” than normal though it really won’t make any difference. You deserve a treat for all you’ve done thus far anyway!

Whatever happens you can´t mess up the great work you´ve been putting in if you get back on track when you get back home. Enjoy!

Thanks all, just a quick note to say things are still ok. I had planned to get back to my room early and catch up on the forum, but an amazing coincidence happened. An old friend of mine turned musician was playing the bar next door. I hadn't seen him in 5+ years, couldn't pass that up. I am in St Augustine, 150 miles from where we knew each other. But still did ok, I had a semi-big breakfast with my cousin, scrambled eggs, one slice of bacon, a small glass of fresh squeezed orange juice from her tree, and a small to medium sized banana muffin. Would not have normally done the muffin, but she made it special for me with bananas from her tree, could not turn that down. No lunch and only a salad without dressing for dinner, however I had 2 1/2 beers in support of my friend's gig.

I did manage to get in the water here, probably 20 C, a little colder than Miami, but fun.

when i was in college in PA, every chance i got i either drove or hitchhiked down to Florida. one time when i was in the Keys with a friend, the nighttime breeze you could always count on stopped and we were attacked in the middle of the night by relentless swarms of no see um's (i've since gotten a tent that takes care of that problem) and wound up literally pulling up stakes, getting in the car and driving north. by daybreak we made it as far as St Augustine and discovered a nearly empty Anastasia State Park and totally exhausted, crashed there. probably close to the same time of year (Easter break), but the beach and the water were both a refreshing change from the day before. last place i can remember finding sand dollars. oldest city in Florida, right?

Sounds like such a fun trip altogether
How was your friends show at the bar? What kind of music?
the breakfast sounds great with the orange juice with oranges right from the tree and a muffin with a banana also from the tree! that's so great!

It all sounds wonderful, Rob. It's lovely to hear & see you having such a great time! :)
