Alaskan Journal

So I'm a little new at this online Journal thing. I guess I will start this off by introducing my self a little. Hi, I'm Danny I live here in Anchorage Alaska the largest of the city's in Alaska. They consider Anchorage to be the most northern LA. I joined this site to meet an talk to people who are fighting the same things in life as me, controlling/loosing weight.

I started this weight loss thing on 5/12/08 when I saw my head doctor and we weighed me, the scale say 257 pounds. That was the end of it! That day is when I started counting calories and working out to the best of my ability. Long story short March 2007 thrown from my truck 30 yards + Coma + brain surgery + elbow rebuild = being disabled. But you would never just walk up to me and guess!

Since 5/12/08 I stared out burning maybe 200 calories a day taking is right around 1800 calories a day.

Slowly I upped the work out over the next 30 days getting to the point of burning 600+. With my body being the way it is since the wreck it can't do much. I can do little little weight lifting like 3 pounds with my left arm since the hand is numb and the elbow is all mettle. Sit ups twice a day and a 1 mile walk twice a day, and some water stuff here and there.

So I would not look at a scale for 30 day not tell I saw my head doctor a month later. In 30 day 6/12/08 I lost 22 pounds! Then 15 days later! 6/27/08 I had lost 8 more pounds reaching 227!

My goal is 195.
Just so you all know I'm 6'3" and 227 pound as off 6/27/08.

I will be stepping on a scale again on 7/12/08. That will be the 15 day mark. This last 20 days has been tough, I turned 21 on the 24th of June. So I had like 3 different birthday dinner and I went out of town once but all and all I have been sticking to my intake of pretty damn close. There was a point were I did not feel good and could not work out for 3 or 4 day but still ate right so its been a weird 20 days haha. But it should be fine! I know I have lost something.

Also I know a 38 sized pants were getting tight when I first stared now my 36's are getting pretty loose. What else should I say in here haha?

If you want to know anything else at all please ask I am a open book, if I forgot something important feel free to ask!

Danny - thanks for the link to your journal. I think you did a wonderful job starting off.:hurray: I'm sorry to hear about your accident and I wish you a speedy recovery.

you seem to be doing a great job with the weight loss. holding the line close over your birthday is awesome.

My son will be 21 on Friday and I doubt I'll be close to holding my line for his BD. LOL

congrats on all of your hard work. I look forward to your updates. I think you have a great goal too!

Thank You so much. I'm going over my calories by 150 right now but the dinner cooked is my fave! Tell your son HappyBirthday from Alaska...!

I will pass on the birthday wishes, thank you.

Going over by 150 is not so bad. If you worked out at all today, you've got it covered. Great job!

So July 12th I step on a scale again and I'm worried since the last 15 days with my birthday dinners and going out of town...I hope I lose even 3 pounds...

I'm sure you'll do fine. if you were weighing in weekly, there might be concern, but it's been longer than that, I'll bet you see a loss.

Yeah, people told me I get can't get dependent on that scalle...So every 15 day I think is ok :)

Few more days and I weigh my self!

Normal day's intake...

Breakfast: 1c Raisin Brand with 1/2c 2% Milk...Water with crystal light in it.

Work out: 200 sit ups and a 1 mile walk(walk I have not been doing lately due to the weather)

Snack: Some kinda bar, chewy, fruit, oatmeal.

Lunch: Turkey and Roast Beef wrap with swiss...Light Ranch
added(little bit), water with CL.

Snack: Same as above.

Dinner: This is my bigger meal, On average. Main would be a chicken breast or steak(2c) or pork chop or something along throws lines. Then corn or peas 1c and 80% of the time a dinner salad with light ranch. Some times no salad and a backed potato. More water with CL

Work Out: 200 sit ups and a 1 mile walk(walk I have not been doing lately due to the weather)

I think that is what is "normal" I think haha

So! I weighed my self again today, today is day 60 of my calorie watch and mild-workout-ness. Lets recap! Remember I only step on a scale every 15 days!

5/12/08 - The start! - 257lbs!

6/12/08 - 30 day mark - 235lbs

6/27/08 - 45 day mark - 227lbs

From about 6/20/08 to 7/5/08 I had a lot of stuff going on between my 21st birthday to road trips. Getting sick some where in there did not help things. But being put trough all of that and a few margaritas. I stuck to my diet pretty well, but the damn margaritas have almost enough calories for your full day of calorie intake!

7/12/08 - 60 day mark! - 222lbs

I lost 5 pounds through all that hell! I'm so proud of my self! Every time I weigh my self and see progress I lean more and more of what my boundaries are. I though for sure I gained weight, this will keep me pushing strong for 15 more day!

Hey Limited,
It looks like you're doing really, really well. I wish I was. I'm going to have to take some of your motivation. I don't think I could hold out on weighing myself every 15 days. I weigh myself every day, and as long as it stays the same or goes down, I am happy. Keep up the good work!

Thats the biggest problem, Doctors have told me not to rely on a scale thats the biggest down fall! Thats why I do every 15 days...Doctors said one every 30 but that was hard enough the first time...

I saw Wall-E last night and it had to be one of the best movies ever!
Funny thing is he stole the "E" from me...I was the first!

Haha I had the "E" since Christmas!
