Adam's not so usual JOURNAL!!!

I'm still here eating right

pretty tired, long day, will update in the morning in the appropriate format. i'm loading all my foods into fit day, and so far, i like the program. i wish, though, on the main screen, it will record ALL your nutrients you eat (sodium, potassium, etc) and not just the carbs/fats/protein. maybe there's some way to show it...which i haven't access..

once i get more familar with the format, then i can start to copy/paste it into the journal....

and today, i was actually only at 1750 (-50 deficit)

and about 30 min of jogging and 30 min of walking, and 15 min of playing tennis, but it wasn't at high intesnity.
 
God damn it, i shoulda known better.

I was working, my boss wanted me pass by McD to buy him something, he told me pick up something for myself, i tell him np, and i bought a sweet tea....the 2nd tea i have ever bought.

i looked up on an unoffical site...Nutrition Facts and Analysis for McDonald's beverage: Iced Tea and it said 0 calories! i was like yay! must be all natural tea

i knew it was too good to be true, and came across the official site, McDonald's USA-Sweet Tea (Large), 230 calories, shit! i drunk 2 of these, a calorie surplous of close to 500, that is 1/7th of a lb!!!

grr, my god....*slams face in keyboard*

this has thought me a lesson of learning where to look for sources...and nutrional facts.....

i am sorry this post if sloppily written, i'm tired and its nearly 2 in the morning and i should be in my bed....damn, i have to wake up at like 8 tomorrow...heh, like that's happening...the ppl at the hospial will be pissed :rotflmao:

edit: Ha, i really thoiught i was at a 50 calorie deficit. more like a 200 calorie surplus :(

edit2: now i notice one is ice tea and the other, sweet tea. i'm such a jackass :rotflmao:

Ha HA ha - abt you slammin your face into the keyboard - thta is why you are now using fit day you will see as youn go along that you will start to even make better choices based off of what you see when you calculate your cals - has everything been ok ???

I'm glad i switched to fitday, it seems great. work is going quite well, and everythign so far. just...mellow...and i need to clean my room! its messy :(

Yesterday I was a mess.

I wanted to go oustide to exercise, but unfortantely, it was raining too hard and i couldn't (i need to invest, when i get the money, in an eplitical trainer, threadmill, or even a rowing machine may be a good idea). Needless to say, the storm was so bad, it knocked out electricty for about 2 hours, and I binged..on about 1200 calories worth of pop tarts. Damn :(. I went over 1000 and i didn't exercise cuz of the weather, double wammy!

But I won't let this get me down. Today is a new week and more hyped then ever.

Breakfast was (fitday is so easy, shoulda used this earlier! :))

Key: Cal, Fat, Carbs, Protein
Frosted Flakes, 1/3 Less Sugar, 1/2 cup: 120 0 28 1
Skim Milk, 1 Cup: 45 0 6 4

Totals 165 0 34 5

Also, i set a goal for myself. 180 lb by christmas (12/25/07). According to fitday:

And 1.38 lb per week is extremly realistic :)

Hey, don't worry about the iced tea! But at least now you know how much they are! That's why I rarely have anything but water! When my bf and I go to restaurants we never buy drinks, only get water. Mostly because it's cheaper but we like water so it works out well ;)

risty: its great to see you back! i've missed ya. and yeah, i always get water too..but my boss told me to buy something for myself. i didn't know what to buy because i do not consume anything at mcdonalds. also, watching the movie Fast Food Nation didn't help (horrible movie btw...read the book imo..which I will soon). I do not eat the salads at mcdonads either. Grr...its funny. My old self would have consumed like 3 double cheese burgers easily (and i want to vomit now thinking about that).

1 hour elipitical trainer at the job, about 700 calories burned

lower body resistant training:
45' leg press 3x10
deadlifts 3x10
leg extension 3x8
prone leg curl 3x10
calf raises 3x10

Pretty happy for the day, i need to up that protein though and lower my carbs. I will work on it.

Basically, I've been in a calorie for a few days, so i've decided to turn this into a "refeed". So far, the numbers today:

cal, fat, carb, protein

Totals 2488 93 306 96

Its a little experiment if you will, I should end this refeed around friday.

I need to up my protein! 96 is absolutely bad! LOL

My exercise today:

I did some HITT on the elipitical. I was only gonna do steady rate, but those extra carbs (over 300) in my system really gave me an energy boost, and I was flying! 400 calories burned in 30 min, a maximum heart rate of 180 which is absolutely INCREDIBLE! a new high for me. i'm loving this refeed...i feel so energized

When I get off of it, i hope i don't fall into a mild depression :D. after cardio i did some upper body lifting, the usual, bench press, pull downs, triceps extension, military press and bicep curls.

I will come up with an accurate way to display all my information. I want to focus on my weight/rep/sets totals at the gym. Also, I need to perfect my form. Its funny, I have about 3+ years of weight lifting experience, but I still classify myself as a novice. Hmmph
 
one last note I need to remind myself. Using a cup of milk for every protein shake is a hell of a ton. I'll try to reduce it to 6 oz, that way, I can get at least 2 extra protein shakes. Perhaps, if it does get severe, 4 oz milk, 4 oz of water with the protein shake. we'll see.

What I do know is, i've been drinking a ton of milk, i practically consumed our gallon in a week and a half (and i bought half a gallon from walgreens, milk sale :D, and i've had it for 2 days now, and i find about 1/6 of it is gone already. Maybe if i have the extra, i can afford to drink half a gallon a week, but i can't afford it now...especially with school starting up soon

Griff: Yeah, we always questioned why we got so big. Then, if you just analyze what you eat, its amazing. I am kinda glad i got overweight...so i can stop eating all that junk food!

FIRST OFF, I'M REALLY HAPPY.

My a&p class, if you got an A on the lecture and/or lab, you are exempt from the corresponding exams. I am so happy!!! 91.63% for the lecture portion, and 92.59% for the lab! Omg, i'm done with that class.

I should blow off the rest of that class, but no, i'm too much of a goodie too shoes. Plus, learning about the male and female reproduce systems, fluid electroyltes and acid/base balance could be kinda fun :p. I'm just so happy, such a huge burdens off my shoulders, now I can focus on bio, right now, which I have an 89.23 :(

My refeed is going well, i find myself full so much and practifically forcing the extra calories down my throat. I am at

and I plan to eat at least 600 more....about 25 more grams in protein and well over 300g in carbs. I need to get more protein in my deit, i'm so disappointed. I am going out for a jog tonite.

My refeed should be done tomorrow. Also, been working through this with college/university, admissions and finacial aid. It has been a nightmare!

Well, thats it for now, i'm so freaking happy about anatomy! :D
 
I like how you're turning it into a re-feed! I should consider mine the same thing, but a re-feed for 2 months doesn't count ;) LOL

Good luck on getting your protein in and with keeping your cal's in check once your re-feed is done.

About school, I think it's really weird that if you get an A on the lecture that you don't do the exam. Lucky you though!
 
Thanks risty! I went out for my jog and came back. THe jog was awesome, the extra carbs in my system are awesom, heh (i dont want to see how energized i get when i start drinking coffee. so far the numbers are:

I want to squeeze in at least 2400 calories and at least up my protein in the mid 90s, but I feel so damn full. I'll force it down some how...maybe i'll have a klondike bar.

I managed to get those extra calories in by eating some simple carbs.

Tomorrow is a last day of my refeed, then back to the 1800, and aiming for 500 calories burned in a day. If my experiement works, I should be seeing a huge increase in my energy expenditures.

Next week weigh in, I expect to weight the same. If I 1 lb lighter, I will be extremly happy, or if I am 1 lb heavier, i will be sad :(
 
Hey Adam. My name is Sam. I also have a journal on here. Just thought I'd say "hi"

Congrats on your weight loss so far. That is incredible! Your doing great.

Also, when I took Physiology in college, I got to opt out of the last test because my grade in the class was about 90. It was nice, I was so ready for that class to be over ( I loved it but, it was so much info/hard work, lots of studying). I took Anatomy too, it was hard as well. Had to take the final in that class, which used cadavers...

Keep up the good work.
