Adam's not so usual JOURNAL!!!

OMG!!!! Ok you SO have to do the dancing thing! It's never too soon for dancing! It would be good exercise but one that's fun! One thing you want to do with her is something fun, you don't want to bore her to death going on jogs or something, lol.

Man I wanna go to dancing lessons so bad, and one day when I have the moneys, I so will! So I think the dancing is a GREAT idea. It'll be great to learn together and improve together and not only will it be good exercise and a ton of fun, but I'm sure it'll get her liking ya more ;);) What girl wouldn't fall for a guy who would be willing to dance with her!

I would suggest some sort of latin dancing! Those are hot! lol

Oh and about the jogging, I think I will try and do what you did. When you first started, did you jog as much as you could until you couldn't handle it anymore and then walked? Would you try to push it or at first did you take it a bit more slower and then pushed yourself the following week? AHHH all the uncertainty! lol

Sun: hehe, thank you :)

Risty: You sure its not too song for latin dancing, heh. She said she new the tango, and she was willing to teach me it. for the rest of the dances would be dance lessons, heh. Hehe...we'll see about the dancing, I still think its to soon, but I'll run it by her tomorrow. (and omg! i am so shhhyy) (are you sure its not to soon???)

I didn't plan to take her out for a jog or anything. I called her, and she says she wants to do some sought of cardio, like walking (since she hasn't work out for a while), so I'm thinking of this nice nature trail I've been on once at the beach. Its an awesome place...and of course I got the mosiquito spray (the only thing is, i hope it doesn't get to dark :(...she normally gets off work in the evenings)

About the jogging, when I first started, I did push a lot. At first, I just walked for the first few times. Then for example, I would force to run an interval and then walk, and then run and walk. These intervals was tough, and I remember, often times, after I finished a jogging interval, I would be huffing and puffing. I did this a few times. A major problem I had was chaffing, but as I lost more weight, the chaffing went away. I only jogged 2 days a week at the most; jogging isn't the healthiest exercise, it does a pounding on your body and your knees (especially if you are heavy). After doing these intervals for a while, one day, I just set out for a slow, steady pace (didn't run know where near as fast as I did during the intervals), and I ran the whole time, and it felt like i didn't have to force it. If i felt any major pain or discomfort (especially the calves) i discontinued jogging and only walked. I hope these tips help :)

Today, I dont' know why, I didn't have a big appetite. i believe this is the biggest deficit i've had when I first started my journal, i just didn't feel hungry

I did a whole body work out at the gym, since they were closed yesterday. I also did some interval cardio, which left me sweating. so tomorrow is basically a focus on cardio and streching. I'm hanging out with my cuz tomorrow, and planning to take her to the beach (we won't swim or anything). Also, applying to more places to get a job.

Thursday is my A & P test, and then hanging out with liz (thats her name...btw). I can't wait! (but i'm nervous as helll).

And grr! Just to vent, I don't know why, im not a phone person. I'm a real life, face to face person and a writing person, but I hate talkign on the phone, grr! I must sound like such a dork on the phone...:( /endrant.

Another random thing: its been about 3 months since I canceled WoW and I haven't missed it at all. I am thinking to renew one month, though, to log on, and say hello to friends (and maybe see Risty's chracter! and ashy...if she's ever on...)

I think a nature walk would be really nice. And no I don't think dancing is too soon. You don't have to be romanticly involved to be dancing. It's a fun activity that she'll obviously enjoy and appreciate! By learning it together it'll help you get to know each other more, and it'll show her you're willing to do something that she really likes. Plus she already has offered to teach you how to tango (damn I wanna learn to tango... but that's besides the point, lol) so if she's willing to teach you, then it's not too soon! I know you're shy (because you said so :p) but in dancing lessons they start slow to learn the basic steps and there's nothing to be shy about that! It'll go well if you go, I'm sure of it! Why don't you take her for that walk and while you're walking ask her if dancing lessons would be something she'd be interested in, and by whatever her answer is, then make your decision :)

By the way, thanks for the advice on the jogging thing, once I'm healed I'll restart that up!

Oh, and if you do renew WoW for a however long, let me know for sure!

Risty: Yeah, wise decision to start after the wound heals (hope it heals up soon!)

And all righty, I'll take your advice risty, what can i lose, heh. And, as you said. she really wants to do it (and I don't mind doing it with her :p), so its a plus for both of us (and its another form of cardio).

Thank you for being here and keeping me company, and giving me tips and advice, heh :) I really do appreciate it.

edit: that sounded kinda crude. I really do wanna learn how to dance, heh, never really danced before (and as i said before, its great cardio) *imagines himself on Dancing with the Stars *(saw the show once, it was playing at the gym)

I'm about to hit the sack, but I wanted to add one more thing to my journal. This was a comment I made in perfect thrill's diary.

I know exactly what you mean. I love being me, i hate change! I think i have quite a unique personality. But I understand I must under go this journey for myself and my health (and some vanity... )

I read your thread in the club section and you are right. You can be fat and beautiful. And I just hope, at the end of our journeys, after the excess fat is gone, our personalities remains the same, and we remain the proud, beautiful people we were before.

I really hope just my body changes, and not my old self.

Good night WLF :)

And I know some of you are wondering, I got an email from my *friend* saying she wanted to hang out more, so i am probably gonna meet up with her thursday She wants to do some kind of work out thing together, so I am thinking of what we can do! (give me suggestions)

When we first met, she said she wanted to do dancing lessons, but i think its too soon for that. i think, however, dancing would be a great form of cardio.

WooHoo HOO!!! Im so happy to hear this :D:D:D

I called her, and she says she wants to do some sought of cardio, like walking (since she hasn't work out for a while), so I'm thinking of this nice nature trail I've been on once at the beach. That sounds like a great idea :):):) And I woudl definately brign up the dancing lessons plus it is more time spent together...

I also hate the phone and I am a woman - it is such torcher for me to talk on it and to make phone calls and such I hate it - i am a face to facer lets go for coffee or walk kinda person :):):)

I really hope just my body changes, and not my old self.

whooops I deleted the beginning and the other quote didnt come through - your words were very well said and well written!!!

Cinder: Thanks for the kind words :). I am glad I am not the only one that hates the phone

I woke up this morning with no appetite at all again, I don't know why (i recently started taking some anti-biotics that the dr. gave me, so I do not know if this has has a profound effect).

Nevertheless, I had my usual bowl of bran flakes, which seemed awfully hard to get down this morning. I remember the first time I ate it though, it was soooo nasty.

Looking at my diet, I think i may be missing my essential fats. I am gonna try to use fitday (i hate the interface though) and look up sources for good fats. I am taking the omega 3, but maybe I need to take omega 6. (lol....me looking at fats??? on my life style change! bleh)

Today's a little long, have to build a desk, clean my room  , take out my cousin, keep filling out job applications, and study for my tests coming up. But, it should go by quickly, and definitely looking forward to tomorrow :)

Anyways, lemme get to it :D. The sooner, I finish this, the sooner.....the more I can study?

Dancing is a lot of fun.. and really not that difficult to do... Start with ballroom and then move up to salsa which is even more fun :D Boys who know how to lead are a rarity - and necessary when dancing properly so make sure that you learn how to lead :)

Oooh, a dancing class sounds amazing. I am planning on doing that at some point this summer....just to do something different thats fun. And, I agree with everyone that if she brought up the dancing and offered to teach you the tango, its not too soon at all.

Job applications are sooo frustrating, though it sounds like you are putting in a lot more effort than I did lol. I hate filling out the same questions over and over and over again with no result. I've never been to a temping agency, I'm curious as to how that will go for you, I had never thought about that really.

Have a great day :)

Mal: Thanks for the advice, I'll try...I'm soooo nervous...:/

Lisa: hheh, the majority agree that its not too soon. and yeah, I did the temp agency once before; being a slinger in the back of a garbage truck. i did that just once, and that was it...to help help my uncle. damn, i was so unfit back then, the next day i could barely walk.

thank you both for dropping by

There was a problem with my uncle at the job and he ended up at the hospital. So, my cousin went to go pick him up, so there goes our plan (i'm glad my uncle is all right). But I'll find something to do ;)

I need more protein in my diet today, so I'll try to fill up for dinner (ribs, and chicken, and such). I think I got all my fats in (milk (even though not the best sauce of fat) and peanuts).

And of couse, studying...i'll be glad when this week is over.

Just a quick update:

I need to drink more water! Heh. I have room for a snack tonite, so i'm gonna eat a peice of grill chicken (and that should satisfiy my protein requirement).

I was feeling lazy for a split second, but I am gonna go out to do some light cardio. I will probably go to the gym so I can hang out in the hot tub, probably after a session of light elipitical trainer.

Tomorrow is my A & P test, and I am very confident. At least a 90, at the very least :). Got some last minute studying to do, but I have a feeling the first test is gonna be the toughest. After that, just focusing on one-two organ systems at a time, and it shoudln't be that bad (and man, I will have a hell of a time, rememorizing all the bones and the muscles in the body again :D)

Friday, is my Bio2 quiz (we have a quiz every week). Its about biomes (boring as hell) and population demographics (which I found pretty interesting). I've been having a lot of free time, so getting a job, and maintaining the studying (and the little social life I have :p) shoudln't be that big of a hassle. And also maintaining exercising and good eating habits as well, of course.

It sounds like you are really good about getting your exercise in. I am horrible with that.

Are you pre-med? I'm assuming so with all those classes. lol you seem to be dedicated to everything you do, thats awesome! :)

Yeah, I'm pre-med :)...

I recently changed my majors. I was doing business adminstration, hoping to get an MBA. But after working in a retail environment, and taking accounting, I was totally turned off.

I was never serious about school, because I never knew exactly what I wanted to do. I always loved sciences (but, I had the worst chemistry teacher in high school...after that, I vowed to never take a chemistry class again, heh) but, I always had low self esteem, and never thought I would do good. Now, my confidence is slowly building.

After I finished my last business pre-req last semester (Economics 1 and 2, Accounting 1 and 2, Microcomputer applications, business calc (essentials of calc)), I decided to change. So, I still have a lot of pre-reqs ahead of me (at least one year)...(chem II, organic chem I and II, physics I and II, A&P II), before I head off to university.

Right now, I'm a (transient) student of University of South Florida (in Tampa!), but may change my mind to UF after I take all the pre-reqs. So, I have a long road ahead of me, but relaxing. i get to stay home another year. Heh...I talked with my friend; a lot of people take a year off before going to college, so I guess its similar. I am still a little disgruntled that most of my high school class mates are graduating '09, and i'm, most likely, '10.

edit: What are you studying?

Oh ok, thats really cool.

Yeah, in high school I never really tried...but I didn't really have to. I could get by just fine without a lot of effort. So now that I'm in college I'm having to learn how to do the whole studying thing lol. But it sounds like you are really dedicated, which I think is the most important thing when it comes to pre-meds. My school is really big for pre-meds. About 1/3 of the entering freshman come in thinking they will be pre-med, but after the first or second year of it they give up and switch to a different major that is less demanding. Most of them didn't really know why they wanted to be pre-med, therefore they had less of a desire to work hard.

Don't feel bad about graduating in 5 years. I am the only one of my friends that is actually going to graduate in 4 years (2009), the rest are all going to finish (hopefully lol) in 2010 or 2011. I think its a great idea to get the pre-reqs out of the way, thats what my best friend did. She was 3rd in our class, so she could have gone to her choice of universities, but she chose to do community college for 2 years so she could stay home and save money.

I go to a liberal arts college (which I LOVE) and when I got there I had NO idea what I wanted to major in. I knew I wanted to be pre-law, but there isn't a specific major for that. So my first semester I just took some basic classes to get an idea of things. My school has this thing where entering freshman have this special class (we got to choose from many) and mine was with a Sociology professor. The class was on the death penalty and it was very writing based (we wrote 15 papers lol). But I loved the professor (who is also my mentor) so I decided to take another sociology class the next semester. I fell in love with the discipline, so now I am a sociology major. I am also a philosophy major, which happened kind of the same way....I took a class (Philosophy goes to the movies - it was a fun class) and loved it, so I decided to make my second major philosophy. So.......there's me in a nutshell. Lol sorry for the life story.

Well, I hope you will give the dancing a shot, it would be really awesome :) Don't be nervous, just enjoy it!

I wish you luck on your test tomorrow and your quiz on friday!

Lisa: Dual major, thats awesome! Heh...I thinking of majoring in philosophy...sounds cool (I hear its really challenging), but the only problem is, whan can you do with that type of degree. (i may take a philosophy class to get exposed to it). And the sociology major sounds really interesting. Good luck with those courses, they sound very fun :). And hopefully, it aids you through law school

Risty: thanks for the kind words, and I won't be nervous..I will just think of it as a new experience.

I finished today pretty strong, I am glad. I felt I ate good, getting all the macronutrients I needed. Today was gonna be my *light day* (i don't take rest days, only light days) and I ended up burning about 400 calories at the gym (according to the elipitcal counter, but i think its pretty accurate).

Tomorrow is another day, I will be so glad to get my A&P test done with. :). Gonna read some journals, study, and then I gotta wake up for a study group for 9am.

Peace

Yeah, philosophy is challenging (at least more so than sociology) but its a lot of fun. It really allows you to "think critically" as all my professors love to say lol. But you are right there really isn't much you can do with a degree in philosophy. That's pretty much how both of my majors are. So basically if I for some reason decide against law school, I will probably have to get my Phd in either sociology or philosophy and be a professor lol. Which that actually doesn't sound too bad to me.........so I guess I'm not screwed :p . You should definitely try out a philosophy class though, it will give you a nice change of pace from all your science courses.

Good luck on your test tomorrow!

Well i read through everything :):):) And beleive it or not I dont have anythign to add - heh heh heh...good luck on your test !!!

Oh and thanx for your motiving and kind words in my diary...

I was doing business administration, hoping to get an MBA. But after working in a retail environment, and taking accounting, I was totally turned off.

Business gets much better after those classes! I'm a management major, and I despise accounting... Retail can be quite stressful too. I can definitely see why you would want to get out!

I am still a little disgruntled that most of my high school class mates are graduating '09, and i'm, most likely, '10.

DON'T feel bad! I graduated from high school in 2000 and I'm finally graduating this summer.. After changing my major and my school 3 times, I'm just glad I got through it! Take your time before going into the real world ;)
