Adam's not so usual JOURNAL!!!

Hey you! Thanks for stopping by my diary :) Sounds like you're eating and exercise is awesome!

About protein...I have a hard time getting in my protein... I bought fat free cottage cheese and I just can't eat the stuff. I wish I could it would have made things a lot easier because it would be one more option! I love my protein shakes though! Hopefully you have better luck with this :D

Oh and good luck on finding a present for mother's day!

rj: thx for the kind words, maths for the win.

risty: thanks for the compliments. i am always trying to adjust my diet and my workout. right now, i think the hardest part of work out is incorporating a *rest day*. But I think i found the solution of what I did today. so lower body weight training and hard cardio on one day, and then just do upper body lifting the next day. its kinda like a *rest day*, heh.

yeah, and the protein is tough, i am looking for ways to try to incorporate it into my diet more

rj: Yes, and its ironic. Before, it was the *easiest* part of my life style. Now its the hardest. We are here to lose weight, and we want to do everything in our power to catalyze the rate, but we have to understand that our body can only take so much abuse. I want to be able to walk when i'm 60.

And damn, i woke up this morning, and my calves are still sore. This sucks...but I am a subborn mule..so, if anything, light intensity cardio.

I bought this new shredded wheat 'n bran stuff and it was so hard to eat. Yeah, i coulda eat more then my usual cereal (1 1/4 cups) but it tasted like crap. Especially with my new change to skim milk, it makes the transition even harder. But, I know I will get used to it. I just don't know when, hopefully soon. The ingredients in the cereal are (yes, i can type them out): Whole Grain Wheat and Wheat Bran. Thats it...and then it said BHT (i need to research what this is) was added as a preserverative. (i bought it because public has this special, buy 1 get 1 free special, so i was like "what the hell")

Its the little changs that add up. Also, I want to research more about protein and other macronutrients, but right now, I want to keep track of how much protein i'm eating.

One thing from the cereal though. I'm very full...not hungry at all.

I see many people use "fitday" for their caloric intake and expenditures. I will research the program and see if its for me.

About to head out, to do some mother's day shopping, and then probably a 4-5 mile nature trail (can't wait! :) )

I overshot my diet by 90, but I did do a very gross estimate on the chinise food I ate. When can I say though, I love my chinise food.

We ended up up getting these really long board and did some rowing in the river. Very fun experience and afterwards, we went to the beach (walking distance) and swam a little. Pretty funny though, my friends played a joke on me and I thought someone stole my truck. I wasn't mad...just shocked. From the chinise food, i split up the egg rolls and spread them out.

My feet are still sore, i don't know what gives, grrr. I played some tennis, but couldn't play long, my calves / shin / joints were bothering me. And grrr! i gave them a rest day.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention, i think i offically started my life style change. when i left the house about 10ish, i forgot to bring a snack. i stopped in publix and bought 1 banana. the cashier, who i thought was a little cute, smirked at me when she wrong me up. The old adam would never do that ;). (the old adam would have hit up a fast food joint). And the banan was only $.18, and filling. Not only am I losing weight, i am saving money :)

I pray tomorrow my legs are feeling better. I really want to make up for the cardio i missed; will most likely do some HITT.

I forgot to take my vitamins in the morning, but i took it during lunch, didn't get a chance to eat my usual bowl of cereal, but hopefully tomorrow.

i had a fatty lunch, so i have to take it easy for the rest of the day. i have about 530 calories to play with.

I will probably eat a diary yogurt (60) which would allow me 470 to play with while eating dinner. I will probably have the yogurt around 3:00, and dinner tonite.

Not sure about exercise though, my legs really don't feel that bad, so we'll see. I am done being a stubborn mule; the faster I let it heal, the faster I will be out there doing cardio.

Hey,

I bought this one cereal before called Muffets, and all it had was whole wheat. At first it was very hard to eat, it was very dry. It doesn't soak up any of the milk really. I couldn't stand to eat it but then after a while I got used to it. Now I eat oatmeal just because it's so much cheaper than cereal, hehe.

I also love chinese food, well, I love almost all food which is why I need to be here :p My bf and I had chinese food the other day and we bought a bunch of it which the amount we bough was just plain bad :p However, in the past we would have eaten the whole thing or maybe had a bit for leftovers. But we took enough home that we ate leftovers once and we still have enough for leftovers again. So, yeah it's bad for all that chinese food but at least we didn't eat it all in one sitting.

cristy: thx for checking in on me. for foods i really like, i'll spread it out over a time period instead of eating the whole thing at once. This method is very effective.

Anyways, i'm over by 200 calories, and gah! i blame the god damn brownie, lol.

My legs felt 90% better, tiny bit sore. But, I want them to fully be at 100%. I did a slight walk around the block for exercise. I did a rough estimate of 150 calories burnt. It was a great walk, nice night outside.

Tomorrow, i have to walk up early and make the ride to USF (fun, fun). I will probably get home around 12ish.

I am meeting a friend at the gym tomorrow and I'm hoping to do some hard core cardio, i mean, like +1000 calories burned :) We will see.

MMM, brownie! So evil! LOL

I'm glad your legs are almost 100% better, that's good :) How did your hardcore cardio go? Did you burn a ton if cals? What did you do for it?

I hope you're having a great day :D

Tomorrow was my trip to tampa (and i didn't even have to go...waste of time). But it was fun, my friend and I hung out, it was cool. My friend met his gal, so they made me stay in the library for about 1-2 hrs studying chemistry. Then, they called me, and picked me up, and we hung out.

We hit up international plaza and we hung out. they went to starbucks, and i ordered a hot chocolate (i didn't want to be wierd, they both order coffee, and i dont' drink cofee).

Overall, yesterday was good. I didn't consume as much calories as i would have wanted too, nor did i exercise, but i will consider it a "cheat day" (not really a cheat day, because i didn't eat enough, but whatever).

Today, i expect to do better :p. Cristy, you are so nice :). Hopefully, i'll do my hard cardio session today (I have class tonite, from 5-9, but hopefully i can go before hand).

Also, the effects of quitting my job is really taking a toll on me. I am really running out of money; and if i don't get a job soon, i'll have to drop the gym membership :(. We'll see...but i need a job soon :(

Woke up late because of my trip to tampa. I will squeeze exercise before my chem class tonite (5-9). Before chem, i'll eat a snack, and then after chem, i'll have dinner.

A little stressed out about school, beginning of the semester is starting, and i'm taking 12 credit hours: bio2, chem1 and a+p1....and in the summer...but it should be aight.

Also, looking for a job. I really want a job at the hospital - i'll take anything right now, but interested in being either a transporter or working in medical records.

Man... jobs... stressed with them and stressed without them. Stupid money, money sucks! I hope you'll be able to find a job, and one you like at that!

Try not to worry about school, I'm sure you'll do fine if you do your homework and study! lol...

Were you able to make it to the gym before your chem class? If so, I hope the workout went well, if not, there's always tomorrow!

risty: yah, i did, thanks :) And I appreciate your support, i really do, thank you :)

I've fallen into a slight depression with money problems and school starting, i'll get out of it shortly (and when my income tax refund comes back :) )

Strange, when I've been depressed in the past, i always over ate, now, though, i've lost my whole appitite and don't want to eat anything (may also be to the fact I don't have money :D). I need to eat more, i'll try to eat more.

Will post the food journal later on.

i think i'm off to a good starts (i need to buy more milk...)

I took care of the money problem. I ended up dropping one course and will take it next fall (chemistry). My financial aid doesn't cover summer courses, and thats why I was freaking out.

For those of you that are curious, i recently changed my major. I was doing business adminstration, and then changed to pre-med, specifically interested in physical therapy. So, I have a crap full of pre-reqs to take for the upper degree program (any pre-med people know)

Anyways, with only 2 classes on my plate, i would be able to do a full time job comfortably...althought i prefer part time work.

Today I finally have a check up with my doc. I am going to ask him to check my blood pressure. Also i'll tell him how hard i've been exercising, and if he can do any tests for my heart, like an EKG. Also, i'll ask him to check my blood sugar level - last time I had it tested, he said i was prone to diabetes.

Can't wait to go to the doc! its been so long...like 2 years :)
