Adam's not so usual JOURNAL!!!

I kinda had that problem....I went out and bought a BIG tub of Whey Protein ($40-something) and ended up only using a few scoops in it because I found out if I didn't work out that day and had excess protein then it would make me bigger....

Strange, when I've been depressed in the past, i always over ate, now, though, i've lost my whole appitite and don't want to eat anything (may also be to the fact I don't have money :D). I need to eat more, i'll try to eat more.

I use to over eat and turn to food while depressed but not anymore...it is a great feeling isnt it

5/16
Good news is, i'm in a much happier mood.

This is great to hear :D:D:D

The hospital called back. they said the blood sample was perfect.

I am going out for a jog tonite ;) (i'm stubborn, i know)

Home depot called me for a job interview, but grr! i wanna get a job at the hospital. We'll see...i'll see what home depot has to say, but my dream job is in the hospital

Great abt the blood test and as for Home Depot what would they offer you ???

Had some soup and cookies for dinner. 100 calories over...but tonight I had a ton of temptation, i dunno why.

I loved this soup and cookies for dinner - LOL!!!

This will probably ruin some of my reputation and crediblity on this site :(

lesson here: do not fall to peer pressure with your friends

Everyone makes mistakes - I wouldnt worry abt loosing creditibility and even carign abt those that might judge you...it was and is your mistake and you admitted to it now take action and get rid of them...

Hmmph...I guess $35 is well spent for lesson earned, then a $3500 hospital bill.

This says it all!!!

Thanx for dropping by my neck of the woods - I will be back :D:D:D

Hey!

I'm glad your blood test went perfectly!

I'm sorry about the pills. I agree with tom, either throw them out or give them to your friend and at least it won't go to waste. But it's only $35 and your health is way more important than that. \

By the way, biology is like my favorite! Chem... not so much, lol.

Thanks for all the support guys! heh, i don't feel as bad any more.

risty, thanks for the good idea, i will probably give it back to him. i can't believe i got involved in these in the first place. ephederine is illegal to use in the FDA for weight loss, the FDA banned it. When I bought it from the dude he was like all "hush hush" about it....

Risty: Just a lot of material very fast. Heh...just the chemistry stuff though. Chemistry wasn't my strongest subject but I'm surviving. I pretty much got all the stuff with the cell down....(i love biology! :))

And I am glad I dropped chem2, I think doing 3 summer classes may have been really hard and overboard.

Today was a good day...i didn't have time for cardio, between studying and weight lifting. One of my good friends father died, so I went to the service. He died of ammonia (sp). Pretty sad :(. At the after party, I dropped in at the house for a few minutes and left early, didn't eat a thing ;).

Tomorrow is looking pretty good, nothing planned except a little study group in the morning. I plan to do some HITT tomorrow, and hang out with my cousin (even though I barely have any cash).

Oh btw, awesome news! My income tax return came back, $410, which is awesome. I went to the college to ask about my return on my dropped class and they told me I shoudl recieve the check at the end of June. GRRRR! At least my finances are covered and I don't have to drop the gym..not yet anyways.

Also gonna bug the hospital. Grr, i really wanna work there!

Saturday is my big fun day :). Going to dinner with a bunch of friends. Mainly from biology and maybe one or two other friends. I'm a little nervous, but I can't wait (meeting my nice lady friend which I haven't seen in a while)! One thing though, the resturant we are going to, i hear, is a little expensive.. Maybe just a soup and salad for me :) (which i don't mind, fits my current eating thrend perfectly).

One last thing...I had a tiny bit of ice cream tonite and it tasted awesome! Amazingly, it didn't effect my caloric intake that badly.

Good nite wlf :).

Yeah I know how that can be. Bio has a ton of info but it always kinda came easy for me. Chem on the other hand, not so much, but still did okish, lol. People in my nursing class would get mad because I would study the day before (or of) the exam and do good (A's or high B's) and they would study forever but get A's for sure. I'd be like why are you mad? You do better, and they're all, we work so hard for it, you do nothing and get that!

You make me miss taking bio. I've really been considering going back into nursing. I should have never quit and I've been upset about it for a long time now. I wish I would have stayed, I just was going through a lot at the time and with the pressures of everything plus the pressures of nursing and being young it was just too much and I wasn't ready. Now though, I know I could do it. I'm just worried that I wouldn't get in because they would have on record I dropped out, and what if they think... she quit once, why should we give her another chance she'll just quit again. AHH! I should copy and paste this in my own diary, lol...

Risty,

Yeah, you are a very knowledgable person and I'm sure you can get through nursing school :). I hear its pretty tough, and takes a ton of effort. Not everyone can be a nurse; its not just a name on a clipboard, its an actual person, your patient.

Who knows what the future may hold for you. I know a friend, who became a nursing student, and she went from working 4 days a week, to 1. But she's still doing it and is somewhat successful...but she's not getting as much sleep as she should :/

Who knows...maybe once you get into a steady situation and have some money saved up, reapply. Just...tell them the truth...I am sure they would understand. (i get the vibe that you weren't ready at the time, but now you have matured, grown, and realize which path is the right one for you)

Yeah I hope so. I mean at the time I was going through a lot (relationship wise) and I had just broken up with my fiance and I was so upset, and then I quit nursing... and apparently 2nd year is the worst (so says my friends from nursing) so the whole relationship thing came at the worst possible time ever. I was kind of rebelling against everything in my own life and being completely stupid. Now I don't have any of those issues, plus I have more self-confidence. So I think maybe next year I'll reapply. I know what I don't exactly care for in nursing, but I'm mad that I didn't stick arond long enough for the peds, maternity and psych rotation...that and being in the operating room. Those were everything I was looking forward to and I quit just before the op room and the next year with the peds, mat and psych. Long story short, a lot of crap going on at one time isn't good when you're young and don't know how to handle it, lol.

Risty: Sorry to hear about everything crashing on your at the same time, back then. Hopefully, everything will work out (and think about it this way, you didn't have us back then!!! ;)).

Today, I ate sensibly, and hit a good calorie count for the day. I even had chocolate and ice cream, how much people could say they had that on their diet!

This morning, I studied bio2 for about 2 hours. I just have to do another 30 min flash card session, and I should be ready for the quiz friday (in my bio2 class, we have a quiz every week...no exams, except for our finals, and our lab reports / assignments due).

I have a lot of studying to do for anatomy. Next week is the test. This week lecture is on the cellular level (which I am already very familar with...no Integumentary system on this exam..which is good).

So, I will get through the cell lecture tonite, and then I probably only need to study the chemistry and introduction. I need to memorize which organs are in what quadrants, and memorize all the cavities and quadrants names. I pretty much got all the anatomical positioning (dorsal, ventral, distal, etc) down, but I need to review cross sections, name of bodies, and briefly go over how each body system is used to maintain homostatis. And...all the freaking chemistry

The test is online...we are *not* supposed to use any notes, books, etc on the test (its timed however)...but...we'll see...

I had a nice jog tonite, only 45 min...my cousin cut me short, but thats ok. I feel so energized now, my body is really getting used to the jogging. And I am glad I cut out calf raises from my routin, my calves don't even hurt me any more.

Anyways, I surfed around here long enough, lemme hit the books. Until tomorrow.

Hey, yeah I do have you guys now! I think I will apply. It'll be too late for the school year coming up so I'll have to apply for the year after which will give me time to save up some money (if I stop buying bloody dvd's!)

I hope you're studying goes well. I loved the stuff you're doing now. You so reminded me of work, lol. I have the typing shift this week, so I get to type up all the x-ray and ultrasound results and for a lot of the abdomen ones for the history it's like... persistent pain right upper quadrant.. lol. Man there's some weird words I came across today like pelvicaliectasis... the first time I heard that the way the dr said it I thought it was 2 diff words! lol

You'll do fine on your bio for sure! Wait until you have to learn all the bones and the muscles and the connection points of which muscle to which bone and all that good stuff. That was fun. I drew the skeleton in sections and coloured the top and bottom of the attachment points of the muscle and what the muscle was and what the bone was. The drawing part was fun for sure!

Anyways, enough of me rambling about studying, it'll take away time from your studying, again, good luck on your studying and your quiz!

Finished studying finally (1131pm). And I have learned to take a positive view on chemistry (because being negative about it won't make it better), so I love it now :jump:

Cristy, in high school, I had to memorize all the bones in the body, and all the muscles in the body for Anatomy and Physiology (althought, I slacked off in high school...:drooling: ) so I should have some what of an idea though.

For anatomy, my professor is giving us a ton of information now; most I already know, and some new. I hope the future lectures won't be so information concentrated (and if it is, meh...just need to study more!)

Tomorrow, I am meeting up with a friend to study anatomy (its funny...he's enrolled in a different anatomy class then me) but it should be fun.

anyways, gonna get some sleep. until tomorrow

In my bio class in high school we learned the bones but not muscle names and whatnot, so it was a lot of new info for me. I loved it though. I'm sure you'll have to learn more of that stuff in your class too. I found college bio was high school bio just with more detail, so I'm sure it'll get to that stuff. Seeing as you already learned that kinda stuff, you'll pass with flying colours!

I think it's great you're taking a positive attitude to chem. It's true, thinking negative about it won't make it any better. I think being positive about it will help you get even better results!

Have fun studying, it'll be interesting to see the differences in your classes!

risty: i agree with you. everything I learned in high school was in bio. We started going over genetics, with dominant and recessive traits, and punnet squares and crap. I was like OMG! this crap was basic. If I wasn't such a goody good student, I woulda walked out.

I've always loved the sciences. on TV, i enjoy discovery channel. just like you, i LOVE learning (and for the past few months, i've been obsessed with learning stuff relating to weight loss. everytime i'm out in a store i always look at the food label now!)

Hey,

It's good you didn't walk out because you never know when they're going to get into lil details they didn't teach in high school. Plus, it's a good refresher!

I love watching all those medical shows and weight loss shows, they're my fav's!

I also look at all the food labels now, heh. Never would have imagined the day where I'd be doing that, that's for sure.

risty: its amazing, once you get motivated, you change...life style changes.

The old me would eat almost anything. the new me would be a pain in the a$$ and ask a million questions before i put something into my mouth. overall, i think its for the best.

my brother, who is much skinnier then me (But if u ask me...he eats way more junk food then i do) went the the doctor and had higher blood pressure then i did and a resting pulse rates in the 70's. just because you are thin doesn't mean you are healthy. (he always brags about how i eat so unhealthy..and how he is so fit....(but thats a story for another day)...heh...i was so proud...i didn't even have to brag to him)

one more thing. i slacked off so badly in high schools. i didn't even open the book for anatomy and got c's (still got over a 3.0 average though...for my scholarship). now, though, i'm serious about education. and i know people who used to study a ton and ended up with the same grade as me (i'm not bragging or anything)

Anyways, just finished studying...

I went to the gym and orginally wanted to do weight lifting. Before I weight lift, i normally do a 5 min warm up, but as soon as i got on the machine, i coudln't stop! And as soon as i got off (30 min later) my whole entire shirt was soaking wet (very discriptive, i know). i wiped off my face, and did some ab work and stretching before i took a shower.

i decided to take a little break from weight lifting this week until next week (tomorrow is a busy day...school, then a long drive, cuz is coming into town. i doubt i can come on tomorrow, but we'll see)

time for sleepy time, i have to wake up at 7. peace all
