ABBAgirl's Diary

KIM:
Thanks for the kind words! Hang in there and that plateau will break eventually. Frustrating as all heck, I know!

SNOOKUMS:
Yes, go for the WW on-line! Many people use the online programme, and totally lose on it! It is a great option for folks who can't get to meetings or who just prefer to lose with on-line support.

I just want to clarify that I was actually on the 'mill for the whole hour -just ran for half of it rather than only in commercials! Man, it felt sooooo good. I will try that again tomorrow.

:hurray:MARGARET!!! You're into the 150s now!!! Way to go!

Hi All
Did my good solid hour today, expect the same for tomorrow.

Tonight was very pleasant as my folks watched our girls and DH and I went for dinner & a movie. Dinner was tres yum, pasta & seafood! I ate 1/2 piece of garlic bread and about 1/2 the pasta. It was soooooo good, I just enjoyed every bite! And DH can finish the rest for lunch tomorrow. The movie was a treat. Called 27 Dresses, about a gal who is always a bridesmaid. Obviously it was MY turn to pick the movie! LOL DH was a good sport; there was only one other male in the whole theatre!

All for now

Hi ABBAgirl,

I just wanted to stop in and say that my hubby and I watched this movie a few weeks ago, and we both absolutely loved it. He doesn't like chic flicks very much either, but really enjoyed this one. There were so many amazingly funny parts of this movie. I think I'll buy it once it comes out..

Anyway, I hope you are having a great day, I didn't get to read through all your stuff, but saw this and wanted to comment.

Hey ABBA! Thanks for coming by my journal, thought I would check yours out as well. I'm super impressed with your progress - you and I share similar start weights and goal weights. I'm so impressed - what you've done definitely motivates me!! Congrats on running the 1/2 hour - I'm looking forward to the day I can say that!

:seeya:Thanks, Heather! You can do it, too!

I did my full workout today, too. Tomorrow is weigh-in day...I always hope I've lost 2 lbs, but I just don't know. As long as the scale registers a loss, I will have to just be pleased with it. I can honestly say that pants fit me better now than they did a week ago, so obviously I am still changing shape. :hurray: YAY ME!

Well, better get to bed early so I can do my workout early, before the weigh in.

Cheers
ABBA

:flame:WELL PHOOEY! Down only 0.8 of a pound, according to WW. So that puts me at 165. My goal for this week is to ditch 2 more lbs and get down to 163! Now THAT will be cool! I guess I'm now just 10 lbs from my "official" goal of 155 - pretty spankin' if you ask me! :hurray: From there I will decide how much lower I want to go.

I am loooooving fitting into size 11 pants! Feels so ooh-la-la...

Good day, all.

Hi Janice

Thanks for the congratulations. We all love crossing those milestones.

I am so impressed with you running for 30 minutes while on your treadmill. I havent dared run yet. I well and truly exhaust myself at my aerobics class so I wonder if that is a similar thing. I might try running one of these days.

Dont worry about not losing as much as you hoped. The fact is that you say that your body is changing shape week on week (and lets face it you looked great on that last photo) so with the amount of exercise that you do - it is more than likely to be muscle developing. Remember - it is so much heavier that you could lose a fair bit of fat and the scale could tell you that you had gained weight.

You are so near to goal - you will be there before you know it.

Take care
Love
Margaret

:hurray:YAY 4 ME!!! Today I ran for 40 minutes on the mill!

I am working my way up to mostly running/jogging while on my beloved/hated treadmill. I figure I am on it for a whole hour EVERY SINGLE DAY anyway, so why not make the most of it? Now that spring seems to be arriving in our gorgeous Okanagan Valley (yes, it is only February :coolgleamA:) I am wanting to do my workout outdoors, but I know I would have to jog the whole time just to match the intensity of my 'mill workout, because I do it on such a serious incline.

Hey, I cannot believe how shapely my calves are now! Unfortunately it makes it very hard to find sexy boots to wear, as they don't zip up over my incredible muscles :hat: but I guess that is the price I pay.

Today I saw my eldest brother, whom I haven't seen since Christmas or so. He could not BELIEVE how much weight I have lost, even just over the last couple of months! Very nice to hear coming from a sibling. Heck, nice to hear from anybody!

So... good for me! Hope your weekend is successful and happy.

Cheers:beerchug:

Yes, I did hit the 'mill again today. Yes, I sweated. Yes, it felt good.

Then I went over to Mum's for a soak in the hot tub and a lovely visit with brother #2, who is a nurse, and who cannot believe how much better I look these days! Now he is also on a better-health campaign. Mind you, he is a whole 3 years older than I am... at least I still have youth on my side ;) .

Tomorrow will include another treadmill session, as well as a date with The Jugs. In case you don't know, those are my 2 empty juice jugs that I filled with water. They weigh 7 lbs each, and I use them for my upper body strength training. Gotta use the 'mill and the jugs, peeps!:biggrinjester:

Cheers

hey hun :)

its always nice when people compliment you on your weight loss, especially siblings. My sister has always been very slim and toned so i can't wait to see her and show off my hard work (when i achieve it lol).she lives far away so we will see each other next time in may, so im gunna try bust my butt for may hehe.

hope your having a good day !

Hmmm...Seems my earlier post did not make it on!

SNOOKUMS: You can totally lose awesome amounts of poundage by May when you see your Sis! You go, girl!

So when I weighed myself this afternoon (as in, not first thing in the morning when I am the lightest) after my "date" the scale said 163 POUNDS!!! Omgoodness, does that feel good. So I am believing that 163 will be my weight when I go to WW on Friday - or maybe even lower!!!

Yay for me!

Thanks, NJ

I did a great workout on the mill today for an hour and a half! Nothing like feeling inspired, having 2 good shows on in a row, and the house all to myself :sifone:

Now I feel very tired and want to have a nap. However, housework waits for no woman...:svengo:

All my hard work better pay off! My clothes are fitting looser every week. That's progress!

Cheers

Hey Abba! Just wanted to drop by and give you huge congrats on the new numbers!! That is AWESOME. You definitely motivate me to believe I can do it too. Good luck at the WW meeting weigh in!!

Thanks, all, for your words of encouragement!

UMBRA: I regret that I did not measure myself prior to starting my weight loss. For me, it is all about how my clothes fit. When I started, I was a size 16/18, which was the biggest I had ever been. Now my pants are 11/12 (and some of those are getting baggy) and my skirts - I LOOOOOVE skirts - are a 9/10. Crrrrazy! :willy_nilly:

I worked out as soon as I got home from work today. On that blasted treadmill in my basement, where I sweat like there is no tomorrow, I managed TO RUN for 55 minutes!!! OMGosh, that is insane!!! :ack2: However, as per previous weeks, I know that my exercising like a maniac does not guarantee any large loss. In fact, I seem to be losing more slowly than ever now, I am sure it is because there is just plain less to lose. I looove closing in on that 50 pound mark! :Angel_anim:

All for now, hope you've all made the most of your week.

Cheers

HAPPY THURSDAY!
I worked a short shift then walked home (1/2 hour) then got on the mill for an hour. I only ran about 25 minutes, but it sure felt good!

Here's hoping my weigh in shows a decent loss tomorrow...

Cheers

Hi Janice

Just calling by to wish you good luck for the WW scales. It is brilliant that you are only 8 pounds from goal by your own scales earlier in the week. #i am so envious.

It is great that your brothers are both noticing how much you have trimmed down. It all makes the hard work worthwhile.

Take care
Love
