ABBAgirl's Diary

Hey, I realized something that could be important. Last night after dindin, I split a bag of micro popcorn with DD. I assumed it to be only 2 pts; however, when I looked at the box after, it was XTRA bttr, which meant I consumed 5 pts instead! If I have been off on guesstimating other point amounts, that could explain why I haven't been losing lately...:dupe:

SUNDAY DEC 16
Breakfast:
1 English muffin w/marg & sug. fr. jam + 100 grams of yogurt (just under 1/3 C)
=3.5 WW pts
=19.5 pts left

Already been out and done the COLOSSAL food shop for this (special) week. Now groceries put away, family eating breakfast, and soon off to chch. (What's missing from "chch"? U R!! hee hee)

Lunch:
1 C squash soup (yummmmmy!) + 1 WW tortilla + 1 slice lunch meat + 2 Tbsp LF cheddar + 1 Tbsp LF cream cheese + tomato
=6.5 WW points
= 10 WW points used today so far, 13 points left

1 ginger snap =.5 WW pt

Dinner:
1 C ww pasta + tomato sauce + 6 lean meat balls + 1/2 dinner roll
=11 ww points = 21 WW points used so far
today

This evening I will have my other ginger snap when I drink my ACV concoction. I am also trying to remember a multivit each day, + kelp + vit D, as it is so cloudy where we live.

Hi Janice

I hope that counting the points more carefully (a little less guesstimating) brings the magic that gets you off that plateau. I tend to only eat very much the same food. When I do plateau - one of the first things that I look at are things that I have recently started eating.

Good luck at the scales next time - now that you are armed with this pop-corn knowledge.

Take care:seeya:

Thanks, Margaret. My DH gave me the sweetest compliment tonight. I was in the kitchen, madly trying to prepare anything for our big dinner tomorrow night that I can do ahead of time. He looked at me out of the blue and said, "I don't care what that scale says - YOU ARE SHRINKING!" and then he came over and gave me a great, big hug! :beating: Ooooooh it felt so good.

TODAY'S FOOD:
Breakfast:
1 frozen small waffle + 100 grams FF/SF yogurt
Lunch:
2 WW tortillas + 2 slices turkey lunch meat + 3 Tbsp LF cheddar + 2 ginger snaps + 1 chocolate (and believe me, limiting to just one was crazy hard! Our office is FILLED with chocolates, gourmet cookies, etc. from all the docs stopping by to thank us for our hard work!!!)
Dinner:
Okay, Eastside Marios. About 4 spoonfuls of wedding soup + 1 very petite chunk of French bread + 1/2 of my plate full of asparagus ricotta capelletti.
A few fries, too (maybe 5, but big). Then at home I had one cookie.
TOTAL DAMAGE:
I estimate about 30 points today!!!
Holy, that is not good. I did not realize how many points that dinner out would cost! But now I know.

Tomorrow is my big family Christmas dinner, as we will be gone over the holidays. Ham, broccoli merangue, peas, carrots, scalloped potatoes, apple sauce, crab & spinach dip, butter tarts, pumpkin pie, truffles, ginger snaps, shortbread. Eggnog. :ack2: So you will bear with me if I am a bit too busy tomorrow to post my food...and I don't think I would want to, anyway! ;)

Oh, and just so you all know, I continue sweating it out on my treadmill!

Happy Christmas, all!

I think this Christmas period is going to be difficult for all of us, so don't be too harsh on yourself. Enjoy your Christmas evening with the family and I'm sure you'll get right back on track afterwards.
Happy Christmas!

Hi Janice

Lovely compliment from hubby.

Regarding your eating and treadmill use - I have just had an idea. We both after all weigh the same weight.

If you post how many miles you do on average on your treadmill I will check my pedometer and see how many weight watchers points someone of my weight has earned after walking that amount of miles. Then you know that when you have done that amount of exercise you should really have that amount of extra WW points to play with.

Naturally you would do better with a pedometer because all your other steps from the day would be included and there is quite a while at the start when you are building up to a "healthy level" before you start earning points.

All the food - past and future plans sound yummy. Enjoy - you deserve it. The treadmill will take care of it.

Take care

Hiya

Wow what a great complement bet you were dancing round after that!!

Guest-imating points is never good, I always guess WAY under what the real value then feel bad then comfort eat as I have blown it already that day but your doing great by not doing that and it will explain the none-loss as you will be having so many hidden points
I bet you will start to loose again once you count everything properly

Have a great Christmas

:waving:HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!

No, I have not dropped off the face of the earth; just been INSANELY busy this week with work, volunteering, Xmas dinners, socializing, and planning/cleaning/packing for our big trip tomorrow! We are off to visit with hubby's family from Dec. 24 to 27. Should be quite the gong show; glad we are staying in a motel! The kids are very excited (and so am I, at least a little...:coolgleamA:

Sorry to say my eating this week has been rather...er...well, let's just say I haven't exactly been a great advertisement for WW this week! :blush5: However, I have got on my stinking treadmill EVERY SINGLE DAY for anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours, which I think has compensated some. YEESH! I will surely be glad when all of this celebrating is over and done! BAH HUMBUG! ;)

You have all been such a great encouragement to me these last several months. Thanks to each of you, and I truly hope you enjoy a marvelous Christmas with your loved ones, and that your new year is full of the blessings of hope, joy, peace, and prosperity. Not to mention successful weight loss and maintenance!

Love to all,
Janice :grouphug:

Hi Janice

Have a wonderful Christmas. Your trip sounds lots of fun - I hope that you have a brilliant time.

I dont think that any of us are the wonderful advertisment for weight loss that we would like to be at the minute. At least we have the sense to know that we are not alone and that probably most of our friends will be putting on a couple of pounds just the same as us - so that there is no shame in admitting our failings and getting straight back on track. I cringe when I think of how many times I have eaten badly once and abandoned a weight loss project. I am convinced that my certain Christmas gain will be lost within a couple days of getting back to business as usual.

Well done for your work on the treadmill - I am sure that you have successfully countered much potential gain from the past week. :hurray:

Take care :seeya:

Janice,

Just dropping in to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. You're making progress (176) despite the holiday season. That's something to be proud of for sure.

Have a safe trip!

Hey Janice!
Guess what? Well I guess you can't guess lol
Well .. My mother bought me a record player for Christmas and I brought my ABBA records out and am playing them ..

"Knowing me, Knowing you!" lol
and I danced my butt off to "Dancing Queen!"

I ran out of breath after dancing lol

So Happy New Year hun ..
ITs only a few days away!

Hi, all!
NJ: What a marvelous thing, listening to ABBA and dancing like mad! U R the Dancing Queen, sistah!

TAMARA: Thanks for the well-wishes and encouragement. It has been very, very frustrating over the last month not losing any poundage, but I do feel that inches have continued to drop. Even over this crazy food season, I have continued to sweat virtually daily on my poor, tired, old treadmill! LOL the handles fall off, and I just screw them on again...I should really post it on YouTube, as it is quite funny to see! I believe that old treadmill has been my saving grace through this season of overindulgence...

Lovely DH just came home from the grocery store with (and I am not exaggerating) a box of Turtles chocolates, a box of chocolate truffles, and a tin of Boticelli chocolates. :ack2: Just what I DON'T need! Grrrr... when I asked why, his answer was predictable: "They were on sale!" This is his common refrain when he buys something dumb or not on the "approved" list. LOL

I am back to writing down my food, and believe this will help get me losing again. I won't weigh again until next Friday, after Aunt Flo departs...

Cheers & wishing you all a very happy new year!
Janice

Hiya
Hope you had a good christmas and I had to laugh at this

I was saying to my hubby the other day i hope my Slimming World consultant doesnt see me now (while scoffing my face of chocolate) but then i am a great advertisment for SW join now so you never look like this or what not to do... LOL!!!!
Well done getting on the treadmill its more than what i have done and i am sure it will counteract all those yummy things your hubby brought home :)

Hope you have a good new year and get rid of those pounds
Sarah

Hi Janice

Well done for continuing to lose inches. :hurray: I would rather lose inches than pounds any day. I have such a big tummy it is silly and my waist is not going down much - it continues to stick out as far as ever at the centre front!!! I just wish that it would reduce there as much as at the back and sides.

I would be livid if my hubby came home with all that chocolate. Good luck in managing to avoid eating it.

Take care

Hi

Just popping by to say HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hope your journey continues as well as it did in 2007

:party:HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Last night we took our daughters out to see the new movie "Enchanted." It was very entertaining! Much better than I had expected, and I do recommend it for some good, clean fun. No cussing, no smut, just lots of laughs & fun!

I just got off the treadmill after 2 hours. I was watching a marathon of Big Medicine, the father & son docs who perform gastric bypass. It is always easier to work out while watching fat folks lose weight, no matter how! Very inspiring. Truth be told, if my family were not in the house with me today, I would likely have just stayed on that treadmill for another couple of hours! But the house does need some tidying, and hopefully Mom can come over for New Year's Day dinner.

Hope you all enjoyed a fun New Year's Eve, doing what you like with whomever you like best! After the movie we came home, got in our PJs, and watched tv til midnight. The kids think it's totally fun to stay up late with us. They are still relatively easy to please!

God bless us all in 2008.

Two hours on the treadmill? That's really impressive!!! And what a motivating and dynamic start to the new year. Well done!
See you soon :seeya:

Janice! Sounds like your family had fun! Thats awesome! :) My mom and I just chilled in front of the tv doing a movie marathon. I started talking with this new gent, he seems really nice and he is park of a bike riding group. They meet every Saturday to cycle around Dover NH .. I think that would be some good fun . .. They bike with banana seats, I will just be taking my road bike, but its winter now, but I will join them later, but looking forward to it ..

AWESOME job on the treadmill!! And what is this show you are talking about? It must be good ..and I bet it was motivating lol If I had the funds, I would get a treadmill ..but I don't ... or actually no room ..lol

Hi NatalieJo. A bike riding group could be quite a bit of fun, once the weather improves! We won't have Spring here until March/April. January and February always seem so drab, but what can you do?

I am home from work for the next couple of days. Good thing, too, as I am struggling with the same dang cold as everyone else in my family and in our whole town! Just plain no fun. However, it has not kept me from my beloved/hated treadmill in the basement. Today I did 1.5 hours on it, plus about 90 situps and 40 pushups or so. YEESH! Yes, my pathetic scale still says the same thing, but given the fatty season we've just come through, I really can't complain!

I am off for coffee with an old friend shortly. Hope all is well for all of you as you continue on with your fitness journeys!

Cheers
