Day 5 of no chocolate done :)

OMG my legs are aching soooooooo much, but in a nice way :) they still ache though, even though i had a long soak in the bath when i got back.
I've had a lovely day today which started with a lovely lazy lie in, then a weight loss :) and then followed by successful 10 mile run. I bloody loved it, i used a new app and the voice in my ear to tell me how i was doing was every bloody minute!!!! which i thought would be annoying but i got use to it after a while. It actually really made it go quickly. I ran the bit between the pub and the car park three times and the satnav had a bit of a skits with the fact that i was going back and forward but luckly i knew how far it was. I was so impressed with my time. I didn't aim to go really fast, i just did it in my own time so my time was great, considering :)

I spent the afternoon making banana cakes, watching the rugby and reading diaries, which was lovely :)

Cate Yeah, i was so impressed with Pizza Hut. I even told them when i paid, i felt that it would be good to tell them that the effort they make to cater for people watching what they eat was very much appreciated :)
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. Yay 9lb left to go :)

Sarah To be honest, the salad bar was so impressive that i totally didn't mind only having one slice of pizza and i loooooooovvvvvvve Pizza Hut pizza :) That's so cool that you thought of me when you did a run :D
Thank you so much for your lovely congrats :) and you will get there my lovely, sooner than you think. If i can do it then anyone can :) How cool that i inspired you to go to the gym again :)

Lucy Thank you sweetie :blush5:

Love to all and thank you, thank you, thank you for getting me to this point :beating: You have changed my life :hurray:

You're doing so well! Very jealous of your commitment! I've just started my journey again so this is really inspiring!

Pretty normal tuesday, i love tuesdays, i work with Rachel, the hygienist and we always have a good giggle and gossip :)
I had a patient tell me that i was not to lose too much weight today in a really agressive manner. When i said that i wasn't going to she said 'well, your uniform is really huge on you' she shut up when i said that it was a size 20 but she really pissed me off!!!

It was my baby's 13th birthday today!!!! I can't believe he has grown up so fast. He and Mark had a kinda tea party dinner. They had cocktail sausages, little pasty's, sausage rolls, mini kiev's, crisps, tea cakes, smartie cakes and ring biscuits while i had a chicken salad!!! Day 8 of no chocolate :)

Well i'm all packed and ready to leave at stupid o'clock in the morning. Can't wait to catch up with family and a dear friend :)

I went to the 'toning' class this evening and OMG i am going to be in so much pain tomorrow and friday!!!! Why oh why did i do it for the first time the evening before i go on a 4 hour drive
It was great but so so hard!!!!
Where we do the class the room has one side completely covered in mirror and you stand facing it, anyway, while we were stood there waiting Ash said 'look, you are no bigger than me' and looking at the mirror i could see that i was pretty much the same size as her which totally blew my mind!!!! My mental picture of myself is soooooooo distorted. Hopefully one day i will see what others do :blush5:

I am taking my laptop with me so should be able to post each day :) Not sure how the food is gonna go and i know that i am going to drink too much but i'm not worried. Like you guys say 'we have to live and we can get back on track soon enough'

Love to all :grouphug:

Have a great time Kate! I'm betting you'll find a way to run even there! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Sarah

Exercise: Wandering around Winchester

I am so sorry that i haven't posted. I Just didn't manage to get time to do it. Last time i went i did it when i went to bed, before i went to sleep but this time i was totally wiped out by the time i got into bed. I have really missed you guys too :grouphug:

I got up at 5.45 am and realised that i didn't hurt too much after my toning class, luckily :)

Left at 6.30am and drove to Winchester. Met up with Rob and went to one of his lectures with him. It was awesome, it was philosophy!!!! It was about Plato, Socrates, microism/macroism. Very heavy stuff but fasinating, loved it. I think he really enjoyed showing me 'uni life' We then went for lunch at the pub and had a damn good catch up then went for a walk. I met quite a few of his friends and housemates which i was really nervous about but it was all good and they were all lovely. He is doing so much better now, he was not mentally in a good place after christmas when his girlfriend Rachael went back to Thailand, he is really settled now and really enjoying uni life :)

By the afternoon my stomach was really hurting, i thought it was trapped wind but it turned out to be aching ab muscles!!!

Went to my brothers at about 6.30pm.My brother had been called to work (in Scotland) so he wasn't there and would be home on the friday evening. This ment that i couldn't go for a run with him on friday morning like we had planned (i was secretly so pleased cos i was aching lots!!)
Rob was trying to get me to go to his friday morning lecture with him and seeing as i wasn't going to go running with him i said i would.
My neice and nephews (8,7 & 4 yrs old) were so excited to see me :) The all came running to meet me at the door for a big group hug. Edward, the 4 yr old never hugs anyone so i was really blessed. it was lovely that were so pleased to see me and when i got my iPad out for them to play with they went crazy and apparantly i am the best auntie ever :)

ADAY 246

Breakfast: Porridge & blueberries
Lunch: Duck wrap, chips & garlic bread
Dinner: Chicken, peppers, courgette, sugar snap peas and oven baked potato, onion and cream
Snacks: Yoghurt covered flapjack, toffees, 1 pint larger and 2 glassed of red wine

Exercise: lots of walking around Winchester

OMG i woke up this morning and my stomach muscles were killing!!!! It hurt so much when i coughed or laughed, which everyone found really funny

When i went down to the kitchen in the morning little Eward came running up to me 'give me a hug auntie Kate' and threw himself at me, bowling me over so i was sat on the floor!!!! The rest of the family looked on shocked and Suzanne (SIL) said ' don't tell your other aunties, they will be jealous' I was really touched that Eddie was like this :beating:

I left at the same time that the kids went to school and met up with Rob and went to his education lecture. This one was on H.G.Well and was just brilliant. I thought yesterdays was amazing, confusing but amazing. This one was just totally awesome, loved it. It made me want to read his books and it also made me consider doing an open university course, or at least have a try :)

We then had coffee with Rob's friends and talked about the lecture. It was so weird, they made me so welcome and included me in the conversation. It was lovely to finally met the people that Rob had told me about. I did feel like a proper student :)
Went for lunch (notice the food is getting worse!!!!!) more gossiping :) Rob is such an old woman when it comes to chatting and gossiping. Or should i say.....we are a pair of old gossips when we get together. We then went into Winchester and wandered around the shops and looked for something for Rob to get for his sisters 30th birthday and i picked up a few bits for Mark & Jack and Suzanne and the kids :)
Then went back to his, he cooked while we hung out in the kitchen chatting with one of his housemates then we watched a film before i went back to my brothers.

My brother came home just after i got back and we sat up drinking and catching up :) I hadn't seen him since oct (other than the morning after my surgery when i was in my pj's & dressing gown with a bloated stomach and looking rather poo) so he was really gushing about how great i looked, bless him. Rob told me i looked hot but left it at that, he knows me too well to go on about how i look.
Gareth said that we were going to do our run on the saturday morning and seeing as the aching had eased i was up for that.

ADAY 247

Exercise: 5k run

I went for a run with my darling little brother this morning and OMG i hate him!!!!!!!! He really pushed me, he said that we were going to do a 5k run in under 30 mins. Well, i did it :hurray: Usually it takes me about 33 mins to do it but i managed to do it in 28 mins!!!!!!! I was really really pleased when i had stopped and recovered but Oh my word it was soooooooooooooooooo hard!!! I thought i was gonna be sick, pass out, etc etc and the words 'i hate you, you fucking bastard' actually came out of my mouth :smilielol5: Gareth was so impressed with how well i did :) He has played rugby and done sports all his life, unlike me. But i did it :) I am going to work on keeping that time up at the gym. It did take me quite a while to recover, i had to hold onto a fench when we stopped, i was a wreck lol

After a shower we all went to 'Poultons' which is a theme park. We had an awesome day going on all the rides. Well, i got conned into going on them with the kids while Gareth and Suzanne mainly stood watching and laughing. It was such a great day :) It was great being a kid again. I know this will sound weird but it was so different going on the rides slim! I use to think that i was too fat to do it all but i was up for anything :)

Gareth & Suzanne went to a party that night and i baby sat the kids. It was lovely snuggled up on the sofa with them watching a film and they were good as gold :)

ADAY 248

Dinner: 2 slices of white toast with light spread and marmalade
Snacks: Granola bar, normal crisps, 2 chcolate bars!!! and sweets!!!! finally 3 biscuits!! Big time whoops!!!!

Exercise: being lazy!!!

OMG my legs hated me when i got up!!!!! They so knew that they had worked hard!

I got up early with the kids so the hungover G&S could have a lie in. The kids were awesome as usual. We took it in turns playing on the iPad and doing puzzles on it. G&S got up at about 9.15 looking rather rough and were so grateful that i had got up with the kids and kept them entertained and argument free. They were extra chuffed cos i didn't say that i would do it so it was a suprise for them :)

We spent the rest of the morning just chilling and chatting and then i left to go home after lunch. Eddie was desperate for me to stay and then he decided that he was coming home with me. He said to his mum 'i want to go home with auntie Kate' she said 'do you want to live with auntie Kate?' 'oh, yes please' was his reply 'Do you want auntie Kate to be your new mummy?' He thought about this for a bit and then said 'yes!' bless him :beating: He gave me lots of squishy hugs and made me promise to take him camping 'in your big orange tent auntie Kate, just me. And i want to come and stay at your house too' Such a sweetie, i wanted to put him in my pocket and take him home :)

Kate- Sooo loved catching up with all your news! Sounds like your week-end was wonderful! I'm looking forward to you telling us when you have enrolled in a course. Rob sounds like a really great mate, your little nephew sounds like he has impeccable taste in Aunties & I loved reading it all. I skipped the food bit. I really missed you Kate. If you leave this forum I may do so as well! We're back on track sisters (I'm including Jess here & anyone else who wishes to be included)! Let's get down to goal-slowly, but surely, xoxo Cate.

PS How about you & your run with your brother? Woot Kate! Well done!

Happy aniversary!!

Hope you had a lovely time! Know what you mean about your bad day--Once you start it's so hard to just stop eating! I always think "awhh, well today is a write-off so may as well let it slide for today." Need to break that attitude! Every meal is a new start :D Good luck and keep going!!

Well, back to work and normality after a lovely weekend break to find out that work (the practice) weren't successful in getting a VT trainee dentist so as of the end of May i won't have a job there :( I've done the same job for 21 years!!!
I am trying to not stress about it but it's hard.
Last week the 'Colgate' rep came to work and she was saying that there are a few vacancies in the area for dental product reps and that they would want qualified dental nurses. I was talking to some of the other girls about it at work and they thought i would be good at it. Mark said to do what ever i felt happy with. I spoke to Rob about it when i was away and he said that a change would do me good, he told me to go for it too so i am looking into it.
I am trying to be pro-active and positive about the future but i am scared!!!

I have caught up with most diaries but i am beat so i'll catch up with the rest tomorrow. Love and hugs to all :grouphug:

Cate Aww sweetie, i missed you too :grouphug: And don't worry i wont be leaving the forum so you are stuck with me :) And yep, definatly back on track sister :hurray:
Yeah, my weekend was just lovely, it was so nice. Shame about what i had to come back to :(

Sunflower Thank you sweetie. I'm pleased to say that yesterday and today i have managed to get straight back on track, luckily. I really thought i would struggle. Cheers for stopping by :)

Hun, I forgot to wish you Happy Anniversary, which was very slack of me! Like you, I have to keep going back & reading over posts so as not to forget something important, but this time obviously I didn't. :blush5: So happy that you had such a great week-end!

That's a bugger re the VT trainee! Is there no chance at all of you staying on with your current employer? I don't understand the system at all but I'm assuming that their practice is no longer viable without government assistance (V.T. trainee=gov't subsidy?), but I may be totally wrong. Kate, whatever you choose to do you will be great at it!! Are there other dentists in the vicinity that you can put your name down with? To me it seems like you would be a very worthy asset to any dental practice. I would imagine you would be very good at what you do. I know that you take pride in what you do.

This may be your chance to enrol in a course of study. Is there something else that you have always wanted to do? I have confidence that something good will come out of this. You are young and you may do many different jobs. I think the days have gone when people do the same thing all their lives. I used to think it was weird, but no longer. If an opportunity comes along & you like the sound of it & your instincts tell you it's right, Kate, go for it! The world is your oyster sweetie! Sending you lots of encouragement & strength! xoxoxo Cate

AOh god Kate :( That is really shit. Its natural to be scared, you have worked with the same people for such a long time. The uncertainty over what you will be doing in the future must be horrible. Big hugs xxxxxxx

It seems wrong now to go over the top on congratulating you on your complete and utterr diet fabulousness, but I have been absolutely dying to since I read it!!!!! Was going to skip every page up until now but thought that would be cheating.....

YOU HAVE ONLY BLOODY GONE AND DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You smashed your original goal!!!!! Your in the 150's!!!!!! You had me welling up with happiness and cackling with joy! And I can't believe that you still have only had two days together when you have had naughty foods. You are incredible, y'know that.

More big hugs xxxxxxxxxxx

Ps... More pics please!!!!

Awww I loved reading about your time with your family!! Your nephew sounds like a really sweet kid and I laughed so hard about your run with your brother!!! Nice job on getting that 5K under 30 minutes!! I definitely cannot do that yet! Oh, and happy anniversary!! 22 years blows my mind!

Sorry to hear about the job situation, I am terrified of change, so I understand your hesitation about what's to come. But of course, even though the changes are scary, they often bring positive, new experiences our way. So hope I that you find something you love and that this new chapter for you is a rewarding one! Regardless of what you do, I'm sure at the very least you will have coworkers that love you! ;)
