WARNING: This post is about Japan and is emotional
Hey guys,
Just wanted to get this in before I start talking about weight loss. This morning I saw an article on Japan and the hundreds of bodies which have been washing up on the shore post tsunami. I really cried for about an hour and I kept searching my mind to consider if there was a way for me to travel there to help..came up with nothing because I cannot think of who will take care of the little one. PLUS if I just go there to help it will be nothing just me by myself. It really got me to thinking because for many years I wanted to be a geologist to work on ways for helping people in natural disasters and conducting research to develop more effective warning methods, but I changed my major to astrophysics because space sciences comes more natural to me. I know no single person can save the world, and natural disasters are not readily controllable, but it really kills me to see the tremendous loss of human life. I believe a third nuclear power plant has lost its cooling ability as well --which causes more health concerns. I admit I do not know all of the organizations around which intend to help or are helping, but it really seems to me that in all of our human potential we can do more for these precious people. I just wish we (humanity) had a really strong world disaster organization with cooperation of all nations. I know the UN does stuff but I think there needs to be a more advanced and comprehensive recovery organization. I know that Japan did a lot to protect its citizens including a 25 foot tsunami wall and many buildings built to withstand 7.0 quakes. We cannot always avoid such terrible disasters, but I wish we could do better at warning, evacuation, and recovery as a human family.

But thanks again Veronique! We will make it as long as we keep fighting through!
it never ends! HAHA leftovers from Tuesday -_-. Pizza and salad is a good combo...and I don't think pizza is all that deadly if done in moderation. I was going to have fruit with mine yesterday but neglected to do so for fear of getting some more slices while getting the apple
