A new chapter begins

Hi! glad the diet is going well. Maybe weddings should get a small pass? I have one to attend this weekend, too. No idea how I'm going to deal with the cocktail hour!


W2L, i gave it a big pass....ate all unmentionable things. :) but Im back on track today....

So Saturday was crazy crazy...started out fine with good breakfast then over the course of the afternoon things started deteriorating....i was at a wedding and there were all these yummy things- paneer curry, mutton currey, biryani, lots of cake (yikes!). Oi....then I started making mimosas and got everyone drunk...by the end of the afternoon we had run out of champagne, so we had another person run out and get two more bottles. I must have had like eight glasses of mimosa..then the evening was the reception- and i had about three glasses of wine...as if that wasn't enough, we went to a bar in the heart of the city after 2am and I had four vodka tonics...I was still fine after all that alcohol....hahaha. No one had to carry me home or anything.

But the wedding was SUPER fun. I was dancing throughout the night in bollywood numbers (so must've burned some calories there) in a sari (imagine trying to do cool moves on the dancefloor wearing one of those). I got asked out by a few men (what an ego boost). My friend is married and off to her honeymoon....sooo soo soo happy for her. They are perfect for each other.

Sunday morning: woke up with a headache..(obviously). Took advil and went for a run....it was good, not truly satisfied, so gonna venture out tomorrow morning again. Sunday has been quite a relaxed day. Had forgotten about my dental appointment, thank god they called to remind. All my teeth is fixed and cleaned and now they shine...:D :D :D

Back to work tomorrow....Ugh! This week is another killer week from hell...looks like life will improve after first week of July...

Saturday:

Pretty much what I said above- haven't even logged them in on fitday- don't wanna know many thousands of calories I ate.

SUN:

B: one hardboiled egg and 1 cup of plain homemade yogurt
S: another cup of plain, homemade yogurt
L: string beans, 1/3 cup boiled bulgar, 1/3 cup white rice- lotsa chillies :)
S: 2 mangos and a glass of pineapple juice
D: prolly more string beans...

Hey Juni - eating looks like it has been great and you finally got out for that run! You have motivated me this morning and I need it after being off all week - I ate crap all week -ugh. Hearing you talk about the wedding made me so excited for mine! I can't wait to dance it up with all my friends and family. It's getting hard to think about anything else lately.
I want to start running in the morning before work too - I'm going to start tomorrow - hold me to it!
Nice loss too! Two pounds is awesome! You must be feeling great! Keep it up girl!!

Gosh, you must be getting so excited Lisa. I can totally imagine. It ran today, so couldn't go for a run today, but we have a deal. I am totally gonna wake up early tomorrow morn and do a long run.

So the rain prohibited me from going for a run this morning. But I walked a lot today, and feel much better. I must've walked about 45 mins today. So yay. I was also very very careful with what I ate today. I really low on calories, so will have a snack before bed. Maybe PB and crackers.

MON:

B: 1 hard boiled egg, string beans, bulgar (was starving when I woke up)
S: two bowls of pineapple (looooove fresh pineapple)
L: small portion of pasta with pesto, small salad and a couple of pieces of french bread (was at a lunch meeting) and NOOOOO DESSERT. Instead I had tea. Am I getting better about this?
D: 1 chappati, some homemade marmalade, string beans.

I have been eating soooo much string beans. I love them. But its getting kinda boring, no?

Gonna gonna gonna wake up for a longish run tomorrow.

I wanna see lbs drop this week again. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Veronique. I am glad you are back.

Weddings are really fun. Esp in these parts of the world. It was an elaborate affair, that went on for few weeks. I didn't go to all of them because I just didn't have time, but the parts I attended were amazing. And I had sooo much fun wearing sari and dancing around like a fool. :)

So here's how today went down:

I woke up really grumpy because I slept through my alarm for morning run (more like turned it off and went right back to bed)- WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR ME TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNINGS? I was just grumpy all day because of this. Work was crazy, and I hardly had time to eat, but I was meeting some friends for dinner and that's where I messed up a bit. Oh well, tomorrow is another day, and I WILL do much better. That said, I did walk A LOT today- 1.5 hours in the evening before dinner, so I did burn some. It was a pleasant evening, although still quite hot. The heat doesn't bother me, it is the winters back home that I can't tolerate.

B: 1 hard boiled egg, lots of cucumbers
L: 1/2 cup boiled bulgar, string beans with cayenne pepper and some bean soup
S: 1 more hard boiled egg (gosh I am beginning to love those things), some crackers with PB and marmalade
D: 1 slice of chicken pizza, 4 dumplings, 1 chicken wing
But what really screwed me over are those two glasses of wine. But I am not going out this weekend. I do have a lunch meeting tomorrow, but I want to make really good choices.
 
The dinner I had today was with my two friends. I hadn't seen one of them since early March as she was travelling. The first thing she said to me when she entered the restaurant was that I have lost weight and that my face is looking smaller. But the other friend didn't say anything like that. So I'm thinking maybe my first friend was just being nice. Hmm...

I know I'm thinking waaay to much. I just want people to start noticing, I guess.....(gosh I can be SUCH a baby sometimes).

Thanks Flumie. I woke up today morning around 7am and got online and the first thing I did was read your note above. It made me smile, but more than that, it totally inspired me to get my ass off the bed and go for a run. And I ran- 30 mins and it was great! I could have probably gone for longer but my ipod ran out of juice and I am one of those people who cant run without music. So, thank you Flumie. You are a superstar. Talk about sending good energy across oceans, eh?

I figured out a trick today. The park I run in gets crowded around 6am, so I am always aiming to go there before that, which was totally screwing me up. Because I want to be out for at least an hour, which means I have to get out of the house by 5am if I want to be done by 6am. This means I have to wake up at 4.50am and that was just killing me. Today I realized that the park is only busy from 6-7am and people leave after that. If I make it out there at 7.30am I can be there till 8.30 and then back by 8.45am, shower and brekkie and can be at work by 9.30am. This is perfect. Now I am totally gonna not kill myself with trying to get up at 4.50am. I am sooo excited to be running again. :party::party::party::party::party:

Also I'm gonna make the next three days SOOOO perfect foodwise.

I am totally the same and need music or else I just can't run - I'm always distracted by my breathing or something. Keep it up this week and have a great weekend! I won't be back till Monday and I promise to be back in the game!

Hello lovelies,

After a fantastic morning, I just had sooo much more energy throughout the day. Work was really busy but I got out early today and then went for a nice LOOONG (like 1.5 hours) stroll today. Needed to clear my head- hunnie trouble. But the walk was really really nic
e. Food has also been quite good.

WED

B: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 plum, some cucumbers
S: 1/2 cup bean soup
L: Udon noodle salad with tofu and eggplants and a glass of white wine (business lunch) Heh!
S: Dried mangoes
D: 1/2 cup boiled bulgar, spinach, string beans
Pre dinner snack- two mangoes

Just feeling a little low today. One of those days. It will pass.

Can you imagine a few months ago I couldn't even run 1 minute without huffing and puffing and now fifty mins. Our bodies are amazing. I know ou will get there in no time, Flumie.

Thank you Veronique. I feel kinda silly that it took me so long to figure out that all I had to do was leave the house a little later than trying to wake up at some ungodly hour. Thanks for your encouragement. You are always such a breath of fresh air around here.

I'm exhausted, so this'll have to be really quick. I promise to write more tomorrow.

B: 1 boiled egg and 1 plum
L: 1/2 cup boiled bulgar, cooked cauliflower, zucchini made with tomatoes
S: 1 biiiig glass of buttermilk (homemade and cream removed), 1 mango
D: 1/3 cup of rice, very little mushroom gravy, chicken and very little pasta (they all fit in a small plate)- i was at a work dinner thingie and there was buffet dinner- yikes, one glass of wine
Dessert: banana mousse

I have had wine every day for the last three days. We'll see what shows in my weigh-in tomorrow. Really nervous. But the calories I have eaten this week has been good and I have been really active this week.

Run day tomorrow. :hurray::hurray:

Wow! You go girl! Your weigh in is going to be great, you are back running and you have had a positive attitude, and all of that helps when it comes to beating the poundage! You are so motivating. Hugs hun, good luck!
 
Hey Juni - I completely understand where you are re the getting up early to run - 4.50am is just mad. completely mad!!! 7.30 is a much more sensible time to be doing things and you got at least try and get enough sleep each night. That said, if you can fit a run in before work - doesn't it make you start the day feeling great?!? Even if I do 5km before work I hit the office with so much more energy when I should really be much more tired...its weird.

I've started runnign through my town at 6.30am becuase my usual running track to teh lake and back would be deserted at that time of the morning and I just wouldn't feel safe - even though its a really really lovely country town and the chances of anyone horrible lurking are virtually nil...but you never know and 3km from the nearest house...well its a long way!!

Anyhows...hope you are feeling positive and happy and here's to the lbs falling off!!
 
No change in weight this week. How's that possible? I have been working extra hard with running and all the walking, and calories have been pretty low too. It has been a week of eating out though- there was Monday lunch, then tuesday dinner, and wednesday lunch and last night's buffet dinner. I ate small portions, but when someone else cooks you don't know what kind of stuff they use, how much oil, butter, etc they used. Maybe that's the reason why the weight has remained constant. Next seven days are going to be extra hard work. Haven't taken my measurements in a while, I think I may do that tomorrow.

Did run for 35 mins today- it was really really hot though. Heat I don't mind so much, but the sun was just really getting to me. But I feel great after the run. I got out at around 8am today, so may have to stick to 7.30am like I planned a few days ago.

Gonna walk lots today too.

My nieces are here soon. Gosh, I am sooooo looking forward to seeing the little cuties.

Next week- no eating out (and I don't have to- coz no business meetings or lunches or brekkies, and have socialized a lot this week already). Bring on the next week!!
