Thanks Hanabi, was SUCH a relief to see the downward moving number. My busy weekend was busy, but I went waaaaay over my calorie limits. It was definitely NOT a healthy weekend, but I have the entire week to make up for it. A new start to another new week. Lets be really really really good this week again.

My weekend was busy, Flumes, but it wasn't healthy in any way. Like I said to Hana, I will write these past two days off as just that and move on to a better week. I am going to be soooooo darn good this week.

Congrats on all of your accomplishments :) I can tell you are so determined and you are doing great! Keep it up!

Hi folks,

Another weekend is over, and it is back to reality again tomorrow. :( :(

I wanted to make this weekend really healthy, but don't think it went that way. I did not make it to any runs this weekend, but I did get A LOT of errands done, was just running around trying to buy stuff, pack up things etc etc. I am shipping some of my things out, thus the rush.

SAT

B: 1/2 bagel with pb
S: crackers (too many) with PB
L: Chicken teriyaki (1.5 chicken breast)
S: yogurt and cheerios
D: rice, spinach, chicken, broccoli, lentils
Two glasses of white wine
Dessert: sweetened yogurt with gulab jamun (basically deep fried milk balls- sweet meat- indian dessert but the dessert alone was like 500 cal)- YIKES!

SUN:
B: 1/2 omlete
S: banana, 1 small apricot
L: feta and parsley pasta with olive oil, roasted chicken
S: fresh cherries, a biiiiig latte (gosh, don't even know how many calories there were), a couple of sips of peach juice (IT WAS SOOOO SWEET)
D: a handful of tempura, couple of pieces of french bread with garlic butter, arugula salad with dried figs (I skipped on the chicken).
Dessert: a piece of dark chocolate.

I am soooooo gonna wake up early and go for a run. It is my last day of c25k dammit!! I think I am subconsciously quite nervous about the program ending, but I am doing OHR for the next nine weeks and gonna do some strength training, so I don't know why the hell im so nervous.

Have a lovely rest-of-the-weekend, WLFers. Talk to you soon!

Congrats on all of your accomplishments :) I can tell you are so determined and you are doing great! Keep it up!

Thank you. This is the biggest drop I've had since I started losing and started GAINING all over again. So I hope it sticks. I think as soon as I stopped focusing on weight and started focusing on being healthy I felt a 100 times better.

You have been doing good too. I'm gonna pop by your journal to say hi.

Mango banana and all yummy fruits

So it is almost 2PM in this part of the world. Had lunch about 30 mins ago and then logged them on fitday and was shocked to see that I am already 1000 calories today. I looked very close and I realized that the biggest culprits are the one mango and one banana i had for snack (together they are nearly 250 calories). This is really really good to know (i knew they were both high cal but both combined is lethal). I am not going to stop eating mango or banana just because they are high cal. But it was SUCH a reality check. When you are watching everything you eat, it give you a really good picture of things that you are puttin in your mouth. I am going for a run around 6pm today, this means that I can eat very very light snack (probably cucumbers and some berries) and have light dinner to stay under my calorie limit.

Everything in moderation, rings so true right now. I love mangoes but I need to learn to eat it in moderation.

Haha, it's true, I've gotten some reality checks once I started logging my calories, as well! Especially with fruit and nuts... they don't come with nutritional labels, so in the past I often just did a very rough (under-)estimate, didn't really care how much I ate because they're so healthy and good for you! But now I've learned that even healthy things need to be in moderation sometimes...

Hey Juni!

Congrats on the loss! Don't worry about your high calorique snakc cause at least there are healthy and full of goo stuff unlike chips or junk. You are making good food choices! With all the running you are doing you can get away with an extra mango or two!!!!!

Hey Juni - your weekend didn't look that bad - I bet it wasn't much over maintainence cals! I know what you mean about the fruit! When I was logging it in livestrong for a week or two I noticed that when I would have an apple and banana my sugar intake was a lot higher than if I would have only had one fruit - I knew there was lots of sugar in bananas but not nearly that much! I was also surprised about the salt in a lot of items I was eating and adding extra salt to. I find it really informative and helps us make better decisions for the next time. My weekend was crap too but I'm ready to do some major damage control and really rock it this week!! Cheers to a healthy week ahead!!!

Hey Juni! Great job on your loss!! That is great news! You have been working hard and it has been paying off. Don't worry about your weekend, just start fresh today. Your doing really well! I love bananas and mangos too! I usually have two fruits a day if not more, and although I know it should probably be less it keeps me from cheating with real sugary snacks. At least you now know what kind of calories you are putting into your body and can make decisions based off of that from now on.

Thanks Janvier. Gosh I looooove mangoes, and you get the best kinds here in this region. I used to say when I was younger that when I grow up and have lots of money I will buy tonnes and tonnes of mangoes and eat them all day everyday. Heh! I used to have at least two everyday before, but now I know! Makes me sad, but it is a great lesson on moderation. You can't have too much of one thing because you like it (even though they may not be so unhealthy). :)

New day, new week. Hello everyone!!

Had another great day today foodwise. I also ran for about 35 mins and walked for another 30. Feeling great (burnt over 300 cals). I hope I can do some damage control for all the bad things I ate over the weekend and lose some lbs this week before weigh-in. Also, June is my favorite month. It is my birth month. Birthday on 4 June. I am getting old old old….

Food log:

B: Peach, two plums, 1 mango, one banana
S: 1 whole wheat cracker and 2 pieces of french bread (size of a bruchetta) with some apricot jam (homemade- made over the weekend and it is sooo yummy)
L: okra cooked in tomato, 1 chappati, lentil soup
S: java plums (they are in season and they are sooo good here. I had about 12 and they were only 40 cal), dunno why they are called plums- they are actually the size of a biiig berry.
I had this before my run and was feeling very good. Throughout.
D: cooked cabbage, one piece of salmon, some rice
Dessert: one small piece of dark chocolate and ½ chocolate chip cookie (small, smaller than one chips ahoy- i made them today for a friend who loves them. Thank god she's taking them off my hands tomorrow. they turned out really well).

Joined the June challenge. Really hope to be in the 130s in June.

Awesome day Juni!! Keep it up this week! I love August the most - probably because that is my birthday month too!! Do you have any plans for your birthday? Sorry if you've mentioned it and I forgot - that tends to happen more as I get older, lol!! You do eat a lot of fruit for breakfast - is it one after the other or spread out? You definitly don't have to worry about not getting enough fiber!

Hey, how's it going? I think a lot of us had a bad weekend. Monday was part of mine because I was still off. For some reason, i seem to have good week days and crappy weekends. I'm better off at work because i can keep up with when I eat and what I eat. It's like I clock everything and am more aware because I cannot wait to get off and go home to a little life. New week for us all though! Have a great day.

hey Juni, Great day yesterday! You made a great come-back from your weekend! Your runs are awsome and really insipring! You seem to really love your fruit, I do too. But just be careful with the sugar intake with all of that fruit since sugar turns to fat in the body. But great job, Keep it up!

No plans for birthday, as yet. I have a huuuge presentation at work that day. Wanna have a quiet birthday this year. Prolly spend it with some friends over some good foood and wine (that's my idea of fun these days. told ya i am getting old).

I do start my day with fruits. I love them so much and eat whatever is in season. Its watermelon, mango, cherries, apricot, peach and plum season. I usually have watermelon for brekkie with plums or peach, and mango and cherries as snacks later in the day when i feel my blood sugar dropping (when i crave sweets). I also have a cousin who is visiting (the one who made nasty comments about my weight), and since she's a guest I feel like I need to have meals with her. I don't have time to make it as I have been going to work really early in the morning (around 7.30), and she doesn't make it coz she's a lazy bum, so the best way to get something in my tummy early in the morning are fruits. I need to cut some of it out when she leaves next week (phew!). I also have a couple of easier days next week before I leave for longish travel later next week (yikes!). Will start having proper breakkie when I come back or when Im on the road.

Also, I usually have dinner with her at home. That is the one proper meal we have together (coz in the morning we are both grumpy) and she really likes her dinners, so I actually take the time out to make them. I love cooking for other people. Since I know I will have a bigger dinner, I tend to restrict my calories throughout the day. If i don't snack on fruit, I will start snacking on chocolate, choc chip cookies etc. So long story short. Yes I do eat a lot of fruits and they are spread out and I get good amount of fiber but I also get a lot of carbs and sugar from fruits.

Oi, that was a long response to your question Lisa. Are you still awake while reading this? :)
