A new beginning...

theres some stuff called emergen-c that works awesome for kickin the buttocks of a cold :) Like MissJB said- theres 1000mg vitc, and a whole buncha minerals and b vitamins, works pretty amazing. also good for energy :) I have them in my purse for my overnight shifts at the gym.

Thanks guys! I used to work at a healthfood store so I used to have plenty of Emergen-C around. :) I should pick some up today on my trip to the store this afternoon! Thanks for the reminder. ;)

Well the cold is still getting me a bit today... been drinking some yummy lemon tea! That comforts me a lot! I'm a bit disappointed, didn't make it up to the gym this morning at 5:30 like I had intended, but I will be going tonight, so no loss! :)

Thanks again to ev eryone all your loving and supportive words!! :)

Don't worry about the gym this morning like Julie said you have a cold take care of yourself, you don't want to get worse before you get better. Cold or no cold you're doing terrific, keep it up :)

yikes, Im gonna have to play bad guy here and say, I wouldnt count the tea as water. The very best way to flush the fat is plain ol water. tea and coffee are diuretic in nature, but theres this weird water retention thing going on if you drink less water. I dont know how to explain it, but there is a thread somewhere around here explaining what water does. milk does a body good, but water does it better!

check on other diaries of what is working well for other folks here. I have found that what works for one doesnt work for another, for some reason, but maybe you can find one thats gonna work best for you.

I have tried every diet out there, and the tried and true for me is tons of water, lots of walking and eating every few hours. Also, I stole from Atkins eating a little more protein and a little less carbs. For my body type(thick middle) it seems to be the secret fat buster. But I DO definitely get my fruits and veggies in whenever I can! Protein(like chicken, jerky, tuna, and turkey) seems to keep my energy level up too.

Keep working it! That scale is gonna move!

I think when you are fighting a cold you have to do what works. If the tea is making you more comfortable... then go with it. When your cold is over you will go back to drinking water. Get better, soon!

Ok, so this may seem REALLY silly, but I have a huge craving for a salty pretzel from like Auntie Annie's, just salt, no dips, no cheese or cinnamon/sugar. Any guess on how many calories are in one of these suckers? :) I was thinking about just making it my lunch.. how silly I know but its the only way I can fit it in! :)

We all have our cravings :) it's 370 calories for an original pretzel. I use calorieking.com to find all the foods I don't know the calories for :)

Girl you rock!!! Thank you so much. I've been googling all over the place for it! :) Hehe..thanks.. Yeah I think I'm going to skip it. Plus its on the other side of town! :) Looks like I might try for some low fat menu items at Taco Bell. I have not been there in ages! :) Thanks again!!

Hey hun! yea a pretzel from Auntie Annie's does sound good.. but too bad they took ours out!! :( Hope you get to feeling better!

Thank you guys. Actually I am feeling MUCH better today! I am a little baffled right now because I think its that TOM. Which makes me excited that it would explain my lower back pain AND my 1lb weight gain. However... its early. so I'm a bit baffled by that, but then again my cycle is SO screwy these days, Its hard to keep track!! :) But all your wishful thoughts must be helping my cold leave, because I feel A LOT better!! :)

Hey guys, I don't remember if it was Jess, or who it may of been that was requesting easy recipes because they don't cook. I posted a simple one that's so yummy Chicken in a Packet in the Recipes section of this forum. So take a look!!! :)

Hey girl glad your feeling better! You are really doing good! I am sorry havent stopped by the diaries like i use to but there are so many it seems these days which is GOOD! Your doing great I remembered when you first started I knew you could do this!

Hey there! Just wanted to stop in and say good morning to you! Hope you have a great day today! How's the weather over there?? yesterday it was snowing and today it is gonna be in the 50's... Go figure!!

Christina, how weird!! It was downright chilly here last night! In the 20's. But today we have a suggested high of 59!! Whats the deal? Can we just HAVE winter or not? :) None of this back and forth. I think its why I have a cold! :) I'm doing pretty good this morning, hope you're having a good day..enjoy your 50 temps while they last! ;)

Missed the gym last night. GRR, but went the next morning!
