Back on the band wagon...
Breakfast: cocoa puffs cereal, 240 calories (hey, bought it for the kid!)
Lunch:Panera bread bowl of broccolli cheddar soup 790 calories
Dinner:leftover chinese food 300 calories
Dessert:1/2 cup of trail mix 300 calories
Total Calories: 1630 Not quite the best day.. !

Having a good day so far (granted its only 10am) but think I'm coming down with a cold, got the sniffles and a sore throat. I'm not going to let that stop me from getting in my last hour of cardio today though!! :D Wish me luck! Hope the rest of you are having a fabulous weekend!

Hey hun! lol.. cocoa puffs!! lol.. Hey I bought fruity pebbles for my daughter the other day and ended up eating some! THere is no sense in them going to waste!! Hope you get to feeling better!
 
I woke up with a sore throat this morning too... hope it doesn't last long and I hope you are feeling better tomorrow. :)
 
Paula, thanks! I guess I'm not doing much for cardio today, since I feel just tuckered out!! :) Hope you're sore throat passes soon too!

Lunch: grilled chicken sandwich & fries (tsk tsk) (600 calories?)
Snack:1/2 cp trail mix 300 calories
Subtotal:900 calories
Dinner:chicken soup 240 calories
Dessert:trail mix 300 calories
Total Calories:1400 calories

Feeling yucky today and unmotivated. Weighed myself later in the morning, and no budging. Kind of irked by that, but I'm too tired to care right now. Just hoping that for my "official" weigh-in tomorrow for the end of the challenge the scale budges a little bit!! But fortunately this head cold means that I have no appetite. Woohoo. Better find something to eat eventually!

i hear ya new leaf! irked is a nice way to put it. hang in there. if you could quote your own words in my diary, it is to stay motivated, we know we are doing the right things so its not ALL about what that scale says. how do you feel? other than that sickness - i'm sure you feel better to be 'on track' to your goal. feel better!!

You know Skyler, you're right! :) Its more than what the scale says. And I feel aside from my cold, pretty darn good. I have more energy, I swear I see a bit of muscle definition starting in my shoudlers & back, which really excites me. So, scale, blah! :) Poo on the scale! Thanks for reminding me of what really matters.. :D

Hey there girl ! I'm sorry you have a cold - I'm comming down with one too ... Ughh it just takes it out of you!! Geeze ... runny nose, sore throat ... not fun !
But you are still doing well ... and keep in mind that it's not all about the numbers. Just keep truckin along. But dont push too hard because you are sick and will just end up feeling worse if you over exert yourself.

Gross jokes aside, I totally agree with what you mean about just feeling better in general from eating better. I find taking weekly or bi-weekly measurements is another good way to track progress because they say that muscle is denser than fat, so if you're building it, your weight may not change, but you're still getting smaller! I found my tape measure at a dollar store, so they're really cheap!

Still did good going to the gym when you are feeling so bad. Have some soup crackers and later on some tea, sit by a warm fire and go to bed early......

Firstly, all you people with colds hold your breath when I come in here. I dont WANNA get sick!:D

secondly, Im going to concur with what everyone here is saying. You are on exactly the right track, and Im gonna bet that, after reading these entries, you will have a small surprise in the morning. Sometimes drinking a couple glasses of water just before bed time will do the trick. Just get up, go to the bathroom, and hit that scale. Much good luck your way!
 
I agree- the scale can be a pain in the butt! I took measurements before I started so that I could make sure I'm losing, even if it isn't weight. but having a smaller number would make me happy :)
 
First and foremost, thank you all for your support. I REALLY appreciate it esp. right now. I got up and weighed this morning and the scale said 159.5! So I have gone up a pound. Be it just water or not, I am really unhappy about it. I also did my body fat % and its up 4% ,what the heck?! I have been working my butt off! This is just so frustrating.

However, thank you to all of you who keep posting in my journal and giving me support (esp. you Paula!) that is the ONLY thing keeping me from eating a massive candy bar or some other type of crap this morning. In fact I haven't even had breakfast yet.. So, if nothing else I feel successful that I am not comforting my emotions with food right now, which is something I would of readily done. Don't get me wrong, I have a really strong urge to do that, but I am stopping myself. I am acknowledging consciously that I desire that food as pure comfort and its not going to do anything but add another pound or more on by doing it. So that doesn't solve any issues. :)

So time to suck it up.. still fighting this cold.. Sorry Kate, I'll attempt not to breath on you!! ;) But I am going to try and get in more cardio this week. Wish me luck!

Total: 1200 calories (YAHOO!!)

Hey Sweetie dont get discouraged on me. Like you said you have been working your ass off. No doubt its just water and it will be off before you know it. Keep workin sweetie and dont give up your doing just fine!!!! Hope you have a good day today!!!
 
So can I count cups of tea as water intake? Just on my second cup right now as I've been fighting this cold, I find tea very comforting..
 
I think that's up to you if you want to count tea as water or not. I would say that if its the all-natural, caffine-free kind, there shouldn't be a problem with it, though pure water really is best.

I hope you feel better soon!
 
Hi Newleaf! I hope you get better quick. Try taking at least 2,000mg of Vitamin C. That usually shortens my cold by at least 3 days. Have a good one.
