A new beginning...

Good luck with the snow!! Where are you in Northern VA? No snow predictions here. Its been too warm in the high 40's and low 50's lately!

Hey Jess, the soup recipe is REALLY easy. I'll post it tonight for you when I get home to my cookbook!! :) It was def. yummy! :) I can probably share a few other "easy" recipes, that are low-fat, low-cal too at some point!

Day 4, Friday, January 6th, 2005
Breakfast: cereal 2 cups, 240 calories
Lunch: Sandwich 250 calories
Subtotal: 490 calories
Snack: Fat free vanilla pudding, 100 calories, 1/4th of yesterdays coke 50 calories
Dinner:french chicken soup in bread bowl, but only ate a 4th of the bread bowl. 400 calories
Snack:Baked Lays chips 130 calories
Dessert:couple pieces of chocolate 150 calories
Total:1320

So, my intention was to get up at 5:15, take care of my dogs, and hit the gym which opens at 5:30. I wound up waking up twice int he middle of the night to use the bathroom (tiny bladder!) and the last time was at 4:00am. I recall this and thinking to myself "Gee I have another hour to sleep!" The next thing I know, my fiance is waking me up saying "Its after 6am" AGHH! I look at the alarm clock and the first alarm setting has been turned off!! Apparently I did this in my sleep! The next wasn't set to go off until 6:30am for FH. So I did NOT make it to the gym this morning and I"m peeved at myself. So of course I weigh myself like a fool! Scale has not budged. :( I know its only day 4 for our challenge and my being REALLY strict. Good news is though.. we had a fabuluos time last night with our friends visiting at their house and dinner wasn't TOO bad for my diet. They also told us that they are expecting again!! They have a 1 1/2 year old already. We're so excited for them!! :)

So.. I'm not sure how I am fitting in a work out today. I don't want to skip another day, but FH and I were supposed to go out with friends for dinner that we haven't seen in awhile. Maybe if we head home inbetween that and work I can get in an hour at the gym! Wish me luck!!

Didn't get a work out intoday, but will be fitting two in tomorrow. Hitting the gym early, and possiblys hopping for furniture which will include a lot of walking! :)

I am just like you I set the alarm and next thing you know my puppies had me up at 1, 3, and 5 and my fiance is kissing me saying it's 6 in the morning. I'm determined to start getting two work outs in a day and in order to do that I need to make it to the gym before work. I think you're doing terrific, keep it up!!

Hey sweetie! I'm in Southwestern Va.. It is snowing here but I think now we are only to get around an inch! I turn the alarm off all the time in my sleep... Last night I went to bed early thinking I could get up earlier and shower before taking my dd to school... But no.. I turned off the alarm and went back to bed! I hope your able to work out today!

as long as you can squeeze in some cardio every other day (for at least 30 min) then your metabolism will stay strong. :) TGIF!

Easy for you to say Paula, somebody hid yours!!! :D

Dessert: half raspberry brownie 225 calories

Well as I am thrilled it is the weekend, it also is one of those "struggle" periods. At least for me! At the office I'm restricted to what's available, but at home ooh its free reign! Work outs will be easier! Need to hit the gym, but cleaning and laundry beckons! ;)

Threw out the left over Christmas chocolate, couldn't take sneaking a piece here and there anymore.. it wasn't workin, just too tempting! Tried one one pair of "fat pants" they fit, but still snug, more so than when I bought them. :( The other pair hardly went up at all, I'm so frustrated! Oh well, I know this is not an over night venture. I just could use SOME sign of improvement to motivate me.

Hi New Leaf,

As i was reading your diary I was saying to myself. " I know we have some Starbucks here and I am definately staying out of them" Dont know what a scone is but boy it sure sounds good.... Maybe you can pass along your 300 cal scone reciepe. I was a coffee drinker but due to hal(itosus) i stopped and started with the 20cal energy drink. Less complaints from the old hubby.

Is your avitar one of your dogs? It looks like the dog cards you can buy at the store that always make me smile. What is your dog(s) name?

I have 2 dogs. I have an 2yr old 80lb husky, Smokey, that digs up my yard. We need to post signs "watch out for the pot holes" or, "look down as you walk thru my yard". Smokey wouldnt do a trick even for the best treat. Smokey just wants to do what Smokey wants and doesnt care if we are around.

My other dog Sarge is part Chow and part lab and approx 65lbs, 2.5 yrs old and is the best minding dog. He loves people and wants to please. Does lots of tricks.

Do you need 2 more dogs? Hate the housework when it is muddy outside !!! I could never walk my two dogs. They are strong and want to chase anything that moves.

Looks like you get to the gym quite often. I think that is great. It will really help you. Have you posted a pic of your wedding dress yet? You have a lot on your plate right now -- working, going to the gym, making heathy food choices, planning a wedding, walking dogs (lol) -- and are doing great. Things will settle down in a few months, other than that just relax and enjoy planning your wedding.

Awww thanks you guys! :)

Hey Bailey, yes thats my littlest dog Rudy, he's a miniature daschund, roughly 8lbs and is 3 yrs old (as of November)! He was adopted in from my older sister, is pretty mindful and does a few tricks here and there.

My other dog is Winston, who is a beagle/hound mix of sorts. He'll be 2yrs in July. He was adopted from a shelter as a puppy, unfortunately he still thinks he is a puppy but weighs 46lbs!! He still climbso n our laps to sit with us, its hilarous as he hardly fits! But we adore him, although there are days he's a bit too needy. :)

I have to confess, these TWO are plenty of work, so sorry I"m not up for adopting additional dogs. ;) FH is enough responsibility too! :p

Thank you fo rall the supportive comments. I really am enjoying my wedding planning, and things are pretty well arranged except the minor details that will have to wait until closer to our date! Just getting more and more excited!! :)

Oh FYI girls, went furniture shopping, and lets just say... I'm no longer allowed in Crate & Barrel! :) I am so geeked, our furniture gets delivered Jan 31st, and its the first sets we've purchasd together so its pretty exciting to finally have something that isn't "mismatched" like a college dorm. ;)

January 8th, Sunday:
Breakfast: two pieces of french toast, 280 calories
Lunch: frozen pizza, 900 calories (yeah not the greatest idea!!)
Water: 40oz so far
Subtotal: 1180
Dinner:Ramen Noodles 290 calories
Dessert:Ice Cream & one piece of beef jerky 250 calories
Total:1720 calories
Exercise: hour of house cleaning, and hour of walking my dogs!

I'm not happy that I went over my 1500 allotment, but it could of been MUCH worse. I just had a taste for some ice cream, and well. I don't do well if I deprive myself of everything, at least it was a small amount! ;)
