wooohoo! that's super impressive that you got up for the opening of the gym, congrats!!! as someone who struggles with going back and forth between a day/night rotation, i admire people who can wake up that early :p haha.

congrats, keep up the good work!!!

Heather thanks!! :) ALthough I could never manage working 3rd shift myself. Lets see if I can get up tomorrow morning too! I have to admit, I have SO much energy today, it is absolutely fabulous!

Remember my post about how sometimes people unintentionally sabotage your good efforts?

Well my loving & sweet co-worker came in frmo her break today with a mocha frap. for me and herself from starbucks. Now I do LOVE these things, I'm in fact slightly addicted to Starbucks, and have been staying away for a total of one week! But this thing in total has 420 calories in it!!!! Helllo, thats a third of my calorie in take almost!

The real kicker was, she comes prnacing in with it and says "Oh I just had to get us something, sorry I know you're trying to exercise." Uh HELLO Yeah!!

Anyhow, Paula, my life saver suggested drinking half and pitching the rest. Doh! I had not thought of that. :) So I will get to enjoy this tiny treat, its my afternoon snack and I won't waste her money or offend her. Thankfully.

She did have good intentions, just.. I feel so frustrated by it, as these things I would want one every morning, I drive past Starbucks on my way to my office each day, so its hard to have some one bring me one! :) Alas.. I will keep to my 1500 calories today, even if I have to cut back on dinner tonight! ;)

I admire you for getting up and being at the gym so early. I would not have the energy to be exercising that early. You are doing a good job. Keep up the good work.:)

That's outstanding, that you got up at 5:30 and went to the gym! Great job!!!!!!

Props on the early morning exercising! YOU GO GIRL!!! Now I have no choice but to get up tomorrow morning! Can't let ya one up me! ;)

Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition Paula!! :p

A little bit of light popcorn to end my day at 1500 calories.. roughly! :) YAY!

FH says he may try and get up tomorrow morning and hit the gym with me. I'm so excited. :) He is NOT a morning person so this is a big step!! :)

Oh my goodness! I hadn't even thought of doing a book on weight-loss. What a fabulous idea!! :) And something else to keep me motivated. Thank you so much!! :)

Weigh in: 158.5 (2 lbs from my first challenge weigh in of 160.5)
Exercise:30 minutes of biking, 30 minutes of lower body weights
Water:68oz so far
Breakfast: bagel with minimal cream cheese 330 calories
Lunch:pasta w/ meatballs 430 calories
Dinner:orange beef (frozen meal) 1 1/2 cup 255 calories
Dessert: stale popcorn & teensy bit of pepsi 250 calories
Total Calories: 1265

Hey guys! I was up again at 5:15 and hitting the gym this morning. FH came with me too! I was so excited he went, and he was REALLY awake this morning. I am SO proud of him! I'm naturally a morning person, but he is definitely a night owl so this is a big deal!

I also did my official weigh-in this morning for my first week of our "challenge" and I was down 2lbs from my challenge weigh in. Only one pound off my ticker, but its better than nothing! :) SO I guess it means I am doing something right! I really need to up my cardio a bit because doing only 1/2 hr a day doesn't exactly get my 7hrs in a week!

Also..can I count cleaning my house? lol :) I mean my heart rate wasn't up THAT high, but..still was moving quite a bit. ;) Just not sweating!

Hey Newleaf!

Thanks for stopping by this morning over at my place :D

I wanted to share with you something I read somewhere, as Im allllways trying to read up on tips and tricks for weight loss, cardio, etc...

I put some things to work to see what actually WORKS and what doesnt. One thing that I learned was that we really dont even start to bust through the fat until we get past 30 minutes of cardio. Its the second half of the hour that we tend to use up more calories. Believe me, it does work.So whether its five minutes over that first thirty, or thirty minutes past, THAT seems to be when we bust through the fat cells.....

I admire ANYbody who can get up that early in the morning....mornings...*shiver* ugh!!!!

And congrats on your losses!!!!!!!

SkinnyKate:
Thanks! I have been thinking I wans't doing "enough" cardio. So I may swap to a morning hours worth of cardio and weights in the evening. I have to be back home by 6:30 to get ready for work and leave at 7am. So I can't squeeze all cardio and weights in at once. I appreciate the tip!

I also am considering dropping down to 1200 calories instead of 1500. So wish me luck!! :)

I think that is a great idea!!

Just think, 3500 cals in a pound, I believe, right? 300x7=2100 cals you WONT be eating, which is more than half a pound a week! I hate math, but you get the idea!

by upping cardio by even just five minutes a day, you are going to see some great results. Betcha!!!!:)

So guys, what is a good estimate on how many ounces of water I SHOULD be drinking? My biggest annoyance with all of this is, my constant need to run to the potty!! Its almost embarassing that I'm back and forth to the bathroom so frequently. But I don't want to put myself at a disadvantage w/o drinking enough.

Newleaf~ Congratulations on the 2 lb loss that is awesome! I admire your determination to get up so early in the morning.. I'm alway's hitting the snooze button when I have to get up! I am a scrapper too!! I never thought about doing a weight loss album.. Maybe that will keep me motivated to see how far I've came!

New Leaf - I think the recommended daily intake is 80oz, and then some people also suggest an extra 10 oz for each 10 lbs you want to lose, but that can get a bit excessive :p

And I agree it can get embarrassing to have to pee so much, but once you get used to having so much to drink, you can hold it in longer too ;)

personally I drink a gallon a day, but am quite used to it now. I go the the potty quite a bit during the early part of the day but not so bad in the evening. Your body does get used to it, like beagle says.
