a Hillbilly diary

well it looks like I lost 3 pounds this week and my belt is sliding a little farther back so these are good. The test is more so we know if i have it or not. she said its very rare and if I do its a mild case. It would explain my sensitivity to sunlight and the red splotches I get when i am out in the sun too long. also how garlic gets me sick for 2 days. But I love the taste of it so lol. anyhow the test will take 1-2 weeks. My insurance company is gonna love this bill lol. well back to the diet..... its odd i ate starches this week like white rice and potatoes and I still managed to loose weight. I'm thinking the cokes and raw sugar and things like that are what my body likes to store. everything I have been putting in seems to be getting burned up.

Hey HillBilly,

3 lb loss is still better than a gain and it's a healthy amount to lose in one weeks. Great job!!!!!!!!! *applauds*

What?? There was forum kissin' going on and I wasn't here? I always miss the fun stuff!

Lee - I think you're body is doing exactly what it needs to do, and that is to lose weight at a healthy rate. You are doing an amazing job!

Ohmigosh! I just read your journal, Cartman :D , and you are such an inspiration to me! You have really come a long way.

I'm a newbie and I am still in the sugar DT part of my journey. I admire you so much. My weakness is fried foods and Keebler Soft Batch Chocolate Chip Cookies (just saying that makes me want to grab the keys and head to Wal Mart to the cookie aisle---This is so hard!!!)

You are such an inspiration to me. Keep it up and know you have a fan!

awww thanks wifeandmommy.... sugar is/was my big craving. walmarts cookie isle was the big part of my shopping trip. The peanut butter cups and soft batch cookies oh man. I didn't think i really took in that much sugar till i got on here one day just looking around and i started a post and someone told me to write down what i ate. I noticed every second or third thing was sugar in one way or another. I went off the sugar for a few days and OH the headache. I guess thats the first time I realize sugar wasn't just sugar. About the second day i was ready to chew on a fence to see how much sugar was in there. I'm not really on a special diet just watching what i eat. Since i was so large after my surgeries the doctor told me I could take in 3000 calories and still lose weight. Now i find It hard to just take in 2000-2500. I guess its all true its really what you eat. I dropped the sodas which was 4-6 a day. now I don't even drink diet sodas since they just make me want the real thing. I started using splenda in cool aid and tea and things like that. Now the splenda is few and far between. I bought one of those stick blenders and now i make a treat with low fat milk and maybe so sugar free chocolate and a dash of splenda and it seems to take care of the sweet tooth. Mostly Ill just eat a bowl of cereal like harvest fruit and it seems sweet without adding any sugar. so it is a life change and when i do have sugar in something it seems so sweet I almost cant stand it. It seems to really help me on here talking to others and it seems I'm always on so don't hesitate to kick me in the butt and say hello........... good luck.....

One thing my chiropractor has had me on is Stevia Tea. Its a very sweet tea that is supposed to cut your cravings for sugar and only has about 22 calories a cup. It's also the same price as regular tea.

I have also heard of Stevia tea to cut sugar cravings. My family used it last time they were on atkins and it was pretty good! The only thing is it hasn't been approved by the FDA, however some cultures have been using it for centuries- But it seems fine to me!

the fda has approved stevia as a nutritional supplement but not as a nutritional additive... and if you do some googling on it- it's a pretty comical little war that's developing - poor persecuted little stevia - I personally found it too sweet for my taste and it didn't dissolve well in cold or hot liquids...

Hello Hillbillylee.

Very inspiring diary on a most encouraging journey you have in you.. :)

Question… Have you ever tried swimming? Won't it be easier than weight lifting and the such on you?

Sday~ ;)
