a Hillbilly diary

eggwhites are good for souffles - but that's about it...

they really have no flavor... though isuppose if you put enough salsa on it - it could make a good omelette...

well everything is going OK today. My calorie count for today is just a smidge above 1000. It doesn't sound like much but I'm as full as a tick on the rump of a lazy hound dog. yogurt and berries sitting like a rock. Well I checked my calories to maintain my current weight at 384 is about 3800+ calories depending on which calculator I go by. I have only been taking in about 1000-2400 hundred give or take. I should have lost weight even though I don't really feel it. I'm trying to stay positive but its hard. Someone that is smaller loses 40 pounds you can really see it. Someone as large as I am people and family are like you sure your on a diet? I can see it in things like my belt and my pants but it would just be nice to see more visible changes.

I know what you're saying. My first 30 no one noticed a damn thing. The second 30 got replies like 'yeah ok ...' or 'are you sick?'. The third 30+ really opened up some eyes and mouths.

Stay with it Lee, you'll be beamin' like a supernova soon. No one will be able to stop that grin and believe me, you'll be doing that a lot. It really is worth the effort.

Lee, weight loss fluctuates and the pounds drop at the weirdest time. You're almost to the point where it's a lifestyle change so keep it up. Believe me, it might take longer than you like, but if you keep it up you're going to get your weight where you want it.

I understand what you mean, Hillbillylee, but what keeps me going is to know that someday I'll be able to prove them wrong, snub the skinny people that used to make fun of me, and be able to royaly spite everyone who got in my way, also... To finaly be able to look decent in an 80's suit! I know I can only see numbers, but your weight loss looks like it's going GREAT! Hold your head up high! It's you guys who actually kick my butt into taking my own advice! :)

Well I have been through all kind of nutrition classes. weight training, sports medicine type courses but some times the hardest one to give advice to is yourself. sometimes things bother you just because.

Keep going, Lee. You know you are losing weight. Your scale and your belt are telling you so. You just keep on the way you are and the changes will become apparent. Your row is tougher to hoe than say mine but you are doing all the right things and you'll be turning heads before you know it.

Your family and friends might not see a difference because they see you regularly... and while 41 pounds is a tremendous amount... (try lugging around 2 20 pound bags of dog food for 1/2 an hour).. you've done it gradually, so they might not see it...

Try taking some pictures of yourself... and compare them at regular intervals... you will see a difference then...

Hang in there, Lee, you are doing so awesome...

I agree with what Cannon is saying, as long as your dedicated to loosing the weight and making enough changes in your lifestyle you'll definately see the pounds fall away and then stay off. We have a great phrase we sometimes say in Scotland which would be appropriate to use to the folk that maybe doubt you and it goes

get it right up ye

:D

Thanks all........ sometimes when someone says something to you well it just really gets to you...........
well welcome to a brand new day.

well i did my weigh in this morning. I lost 2 pounds. It doesn't seem like much but 2 pounds in 7 days ain't bad. I know I can burn more I just have to get more active. I'm looking for an exercise bike when I get paid at the end of the month. walmart has a few but they look kinda flimsy. a lot of the equipment I see says "Not to exceed over 250 pounds." So those don't really help me much.

Well I just got in at 330 am wow long night. Anyhow I'm not listing my calorie count today because a lot of the food I had today i have no idea of the count. Breakfast was a 2 egg omelet that I made with onions, peppers, and turkey bacon. Lunch was some wheat pasta (thats gonna take some getting use to) made my own sauce so that wasn't bad. I did use some hamburger meat in it but I drained it and rinsed it then re-seasoned it so it wasn't too bad. Broiled a couple of mushrooms to go with it. Dinner was Chinese. The only bad thing I had was one of those artificial crab leg things battered in some of those Japanese bread crumbs. Had a little white rice with some chicken stuff on it. Had a fruit plate so overall not bad. I have realize a buffet is doable now that I just cant hold much food at one sitting. Buffet has come to mean a huge choice rather than all you can stuff down in the time you were there. I'm a little hungry now but I don't really need anything before bed. Any way the day wasn't good but it wasn't bad either.....
