a Hillbilly diary

:D oh how that lime juice must burn the eyes lol. It just shows guys and girls have different interest when it comes to being presentable. A woman worries about her hair skin and nails. A guys biggest worries are his wifes/girlfriends hair skin and nails lol... OK just kidding yea its been really going OK. I got sick after I had Chinese again the other night. I called the Chinese restaurant we eat at and I talked to the manager. I told him how garlic makes me ill and asked if there were any in the dishes I had had. He told me they are sautéed or wok fried in a garlic flavored peanut oil. well that explains the nausea. He told me when I come in just to order off the menu and he'll make sure garlic doesn't get anywhere around my food. Other than that everything is going well. I have had breakfast and lunch and still not really hungry. I still have dinner and a snack to have so being hungry tonight wont be an issue. I go back to school tomorrow and it will take care of some of the boredom cravings since I will get out of the house. My ankle feels better so Ill be able to walk. Its still tight but it was a bad sprain. Anyway thats enough rambling for now.......

garlic makes you ill? That's just so sad.. garlic is what makes life worth living - a buddy of mine is going to the garlic festival in gilroy california - i'm so jealous that i'm not going :)

It's good you asked... and it's nice that they will make special accommodations for you... i like restaurants that do that... :) good customer service..

dont work your ankle too hard... take it a little easy on it..

Well tonight went OK. Other than I have the munchies like mad. I haven't done anything about it other than had a double strong glass of tea and it kinda calmed everything down. If it gets too bad I'll grab a couple slices of pumpernickel. I think Ill be OK without it. weigh in is in what; like four days and don't want to back slide. I can give other people advice having been through every diet under the sun and all the nutrition classes, but when the munchies hit you its just hard. Its a sweet tooth and me with not a stick of fruit or sugar free candy in the house.

I have a killer sweet tooth as well. For me, the answer has been popcicles and popcorn :)

They have some 15 calorie popcicles that are sugar free and are really good and Pop-secret has the low calorie, single serving (100 calorie) kettle corn packs that help too.

I'm so sad for you about garlic making you ill... I LOVE garlic. Reading your post made me want chinnese food at it's only 6:14am!! I can tell today will be a long day. :) Good luck today!!

ohhhh I love garlic. the Dr thinks I have something called porphyria. Its sometimes called "the vampire disease" It can be very severe but in my case as long as I stay out of the sun I don't get the little splotches on my face and garlic makes me sick. Got sunblock for the sun and garlic well I love garlic. It just doesn't love me. Heh no worries, It gives me an excuse to get out of yard work in the summer time lol..........

Hillybilly Vampire!!

LOL I know some goth chicks at my school who would probably envy you! ;-)

I love garlic too- But I hate having to brush my teeth 14 billion times after eating it!!

Think of it this way, you'll never have bad breath!!

well they can have it if they want it. The test takes about 2 weeks and its been almost 2 now. The good thing is that if it is positive its a mild form. the advanced version of it gets pretty nasty. anyhow Today has been going OK. I just got home from school and the piece of bread I had at 6 am is long gone. I need to get around to eating something for lunch. We had a machine at school that had veggie chips and granola and things like that. I checked today and it was full of candy. I didn't have any, I thought It might be better to do without than to carb out. Now they tell me that tomorrow is student appreciation day and they are bringing in a bunch of pizzas. I know if I have one it wont be one slice It would probably be at least 4 slices so i need to just stay away from all that. I know that would kill anything I have lost this week.

mmmm pizza... that's about the only good thing i can say about living in new hampshire ... the pizza here is the major suckage... :D

Hopefully they'll have other stuff to appreciate you with besides pizza... :)

Hey Hillbilly! I've noticed you're really good and keeping count of your calories... Is there some website where you can look up food that doesn't come with a calorie chart? Like fruits and stuff like that. Thanks!

Hey Hillbilly--I just saw a news story that people with sweet tooth's do better losing weight than people who really crave salty and fried foods. I thought of you :)

hf here ya go, This is the one I use.

cannon, I havent seen that but I have never had a problem with the salt. Sweet and gooey thats another problem all together.

Ms. scarlett I guess its something you dont see everyday.

Hey Lee,

just checking in to see how you were doing and I see great written all over your diary. Keep it up!

Ohh and on the note of sweet vs salty...well I guess I'm screwed because I like both too much for my own good. You're doing extremely well and finding your triggers for your sweettooth (like the white starches) and avoiding them. That's a big step and that's great!

I hate it when I'm out of fruit. Its just one of those easy things when you want something sweet. I think when I go shopping next weekend I'm going to buy tons of frozen fruit. You cant so much thaw it and eat it since it gets so soft and mushy but I'm thinking alot of smoothies and syrups for some pancakes. I bought a wheat pancake mix and it calls to me every time I walk past the pantry. I have tasted the sugar free syrups and they aren't bad buy I really don't want anything that sweet even if it is artificial.
