Hey girlfriend thanks for the info. I will get started on it. I will also start my own diary once I figure it all out and have a little more time (probably after the School of Rock thing this Saturday). I am so glad you are coming.

I am looking forward to meeting some of your friends here. I hear such great things about them. I am totally impressed with all of you on this forum and I hope to learn things from you guys. I know that 10 lbs. probably seems so measely to many of you, and well, you are right, it is. I have been about 30 to 40 lbs overweight most of my adult life and I just really want to do this. I am a determined woman. Like Debi, I turned 40 this year and I feel that it is time to take control of this and be the best Deanne I can be.

OOOOH I've heard about you :) please do start your own diary :) please please please ... :D

welcome ...

One of the things I want to know if you did on your hike... :) just to show how far you've come....

You hiked that trail last year at approximately 85 lbs heavier than you currently are.
Miss Meg weighs approximately 85 lbs.
Did you give her a piggy back ride on the trail - and then skip the rest of the way to the top? :D

Hope the hike was awesome :D

Hey Spunky :) Hope you had an awesome hiking event  Don't forget to add all those miles in the challenge ;) (if you're not too pooped) :D

Good Morning Everyone :)

We had a great time yesterday! The Oasis was BEAUTIFUL, but a definite hot hike - since we knew we couldn't camp there by March, there was no doubt that we missed the window of opportunity because any time after March is just too hot - and we were right! It was about 90 yesterday.

The Oasis, USED to be one of the largest natural one's left, however due to a Debris Flow in '05, 2/3ds of the grove was lost. We didn't hike back to the further groves since it's just as heart breaking - in the pictures, this grove where we stopped used to have about 400 trees - now, there are about 80. Megan is heartbroken over this, and every year, we go out and count the new trees and take pictures of progress of the new ones.

Also, Anza Borrego is home to an endangered species of Pennisula Big Horn Sheep - our first trip, we were able to spot some sheep high up on the rocks, and I heard one guy say, "I've been coming to Anza for 20 years and this is the first time I've ever seen the sheep". We've been lucky - we've been coming for 5 and we've seen them every time :D

This time, was *amazing* We saw 5 ewes grazing, then, on the way back, we found a ewe and a lamb very close to us, and then while going around a trail head marker, a ewe came walking up the path and we could have stroked her she was so close - positively amazing!

Anyway - I'd love to hit diaries, but I'm working today, and this weekend is swamped - but I will try :)

Don't be - she's cursed with the frizzy's - just like me.
The only way to keep it from getting out of control is to blow dry it - and 9 times out of 10 she looks like a rag a muffin ;)

And I didn't try the carrying her thing - I was carrying almost 2 gallons of water - I didn't want to add her to the mix ;)

Great pics, Deb. Reminds me of my hike to the Goat Canyon Trestle, which is also in that area. I saw some sheep there once, but didn't get nearly as close as you did. Nice!

Oh, and Bob was playing around with some of the images from yesterday - the first is of some rocks and the other is part of a portrait Megan just drew of me ;)

Good job on the weight loss! Even if it's slower at least it's always going down!

I'm glad you guys had a great time on your hike, I can't wait to do some of that this summer.

OH my gosh, you have lost so much and done so well, I'm sure your family must be so proud of you, I'm sure your hubby can't keep his hands off you!! WOW, that is just amazing, are you still online?? It's late, but I have to ask.

The photos are great! What a great way to get out and invest quality time with each other. Your weight loss may not be what you want each week, but you do continue to see results at the end of every month. Think what that day would have been like with an extra 82 pounds?? You are setting a great example for your daughter, beauty that she is!

m2m you are fab.
have a fabilicious weekend
:D
