A Day In The Life of m2m :)

Well, until I can get the weights on friday - I made do with a modified Steve Certified Work Out :)

4 miles - 43 minutes
Lunges 3 sets x 10 reps
Overhead Presses 3 sets x 10 reps
RDL 3 sets x 10 reps
Pull Ups (OMG - I suck) 1 set x 5 reps not of the pulling up part but of the lowering part ;)
1 set of 1 rep of actually pulling myself half way up then lowering myself down

Did I mention I suck at that?

I have never been able to do a pull up, don't feel bad. All I can say, is at least you try, which is what my gym teacher used to tell me because at least I did try.
 
i couldn't do a pullup to save my life! :)

i am so envious that you can go for such a long distance! i can't wait until i am able to do that!

how long did it take to accomplish that? i am only at 2 miles as of right now...
 
Oh, and I did add some pictures to the B&A section.

It's funny how no matter how much I lose, I still don't like the pictures of me!
 
Did you get one of those door frame pull up bars? or how are you doing the pull ups? Always thought they seemed cool, but wonder if they really would hold anything or just rip up my door frame...
 
No...Half way through my run, I come on a baseball field (there are 3 diamonds with two dugouts each)...

The door to the dugout is really high and is made of bars and fencing. I climb up on that and do the pull ups from the bar frame of the door.

It's very official like ;)
 
Heehee. I love your innovation in your exercise routines.
Pull-ups are really hard! Like most women, I have incredible lower body strength, but crappy upper body strength. I'm horrible at push-ups and usually do the "cheater" ones where I let my knees touch the floor. And I haven't tried pull-ups in a long time, but I bet I couldn't do very many. I can remember a time when I was so good at pull-ups that my gym teacher would call "That's enough" long before I got tired out. Oh to be young again... :p
 
Well, the pull ups are absolutely ridiculous at this point. I was able to pull myself half way up ONCE! From then, I started with my chin at the bar and slowly let myself down...so I guess that's the easy half ;)

And...I'm climbing up the side of a link fence door jam to get to the top of the bar.

Steve said I'm not supposed to care what I look like while doing it!

Just thought I'd say...it's a GOOD thing today isn't an exercise day (just a walk/run day) my arms are DEAD!

There are moments when it's quite disconcerting to see someone else out in a park I'd expected to be empty!! :D

I believe there's a scientific reason for doing things that way...but it pretty much has to happen anyway I reckon! :)

I always wonder about those contestants on the Biggest Loser. How do they keep going every day?
 
They keep going the same way we do...one day at a time :)

And yes - if I were to see anyone in the park, I'd freak ;) Granted, no one is at the baseball fields except the weekend - and the occasional gardener.

I hear you on pullups. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I have to do those "assisted pullups" at the gym. Of course, I make myself feel better about it by saying that I've got a lot more weight to pull up!

I figure in a year or so I'll be able to do 2 or 3 real pullups of my own body weight.
 
LOL Tom - I think what I'm doing constitutes assisted pull ups ;) I think Steve has me down for 2 sets of 5 reps! ROFLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

I'll just have to work up to that ;)
