eek blacking out whilst driving must be one of the scareyest things ever. Hope nobody else was hurt at all.

Good luck with the tests

Yeesh Debi, how did I miss all this ?? dammit girl :(

Seriously sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for an update.

Just dammitallanyhow :(

Peace, Prayers and Forum Power Debi and Bob and Megan

hi guys, thanks for all the good wishes...

just a short stop at home to pick up some clothes and a toothbrush for M - she's going over to a friend's for a sleep over.

bob is having an EEG and an ESP(?) tomorrow, it seems they did find a problem with the EKG, and one of the neurons that fires the heart is shot, there are two others and one of those might be bad too - it looks like the pace maker is a high possibility for tomorrow.

I had to get a notory to meet us at the hospital today, to notoraize a note from bob to the towing company where his car was impounded - they wouldn't release the car to me because my name isn't on the pink slip.

joy...

had the car towed to a body shop - the good news is our insurance covers the damage of the other car bob hit - the bad news is it doesn't cover the repairs of our car. seems we have "comprehensive" insurance not "collision" I guess comprehensive is a misnomer :(

The car is covered in case of vandalism, theft, debris hitting it, or a flood.
Not a collision. On a Southern CA street, what's more likely?

sigh...

That being said, the insurance rep is saying that despite bob being more then 51% responsible for the accident, he was not *negligent* so this is a good thing.

They still won't pay for the repairs on *our* car though.

So - read your policies and don't assume anything - comprehensive isn't what it sounds like - oh, and make sure all pink slips are in two names...

OK - off to take meg to her friends, then the grocery store for my m-i-l, maybe the post office & the bank...

...bob's first proceedure is at 6 am and we'll know by 9 if they're going to do the pacemaker.

tell me this will pass ;)

more later,
d

This will pass. :) One day soon you will all be together at home and getting on with your lives again.

"Comprehensive" doesn't cover collisions!
"get a notary to meet us at the hospital"
- like you needed more hassles.

I have been thinking about you guys all morning and wishing Bob good health. It can be lonely being in hospital with someone else who's sick. I hope you are getting plenty of support while you are there.

I know I'd want you in my corner in times of mental strength being called upon in maximum doses, you are well armed in this department.

Hang in there Debi.

Good luck with the procedure this morning... I suppose it's a good thing that the other car is covered - that'd be the last thing you need as well...

best wishes for a speedy recovery...

Thanks you guys - and Randy, thank you...I've spent my whole life growing up as a patient advocat in and out of hospitals because of my mom and taking care of my mil - I have to say, it's nothing I've ever enjoyed...

I'm off to the hospital. They're going to do the EEG first thing this morning to rule out seizures causing the black out, then by 8 he'll have the test that checks the other neurons in the heart and if needed, have the pace maker put in directly after that.

I'll check in later today...

Hang in there. I'm so sorry you are going through all this. We are all on your side & have shoulders waiting if you need a good vent session.

Best of luck for you & your family with all that you have to do.

Take care of yourself.
:)

Hi Debi, I just caught up on all of this news and I'm very sorry to hear of Bob's accident. It must be very hard for all of you right now. You're being so strong, which is no surprise. :) You will be in my prayers. Eagerly awaiting an update. I wish you, Bob, and Megan the very best.

I'm praying for the best Deb, I'm so sorry you all are having to go through this right now. This same scenario happened to my very young newly wed neighbors a few years ago, Mo was only 29 when he had to be medivaced to anchorage with what seemed like heart failiar. He got a pacemaker and seems to be living a healthy happy normal life now. I hope the outcome is positive for your husband Deb. Keep your chin up.

You are a strong woman. Im glad they found out about his health problems and can sort it out rather than the alternative (finding out the hard way).

We're all thinking of you and your family.

Hi Everyone,
I'll update fully later - but this has been a day of HUGE emotional rollercoasting....

I went from what I understood the doctors as saying was they were going to go In for open heart surgery - to the doctors completely *fixing* the problem, all within 4 hours.

I'll go into more details later, but I wanted you guys to know that bob is well, doing GREAT and will be coming home. I'm simply stunned and amazed at the turn this day took.

Thank you so much for the prayers and for keeping us in your thoughts.

I'm going to sleep now,
d

It sounds like something really good has happened with Bob?

Thanks for taking the time to post M2M.

I hope you're getting a great rest now. :)

Howdy M2M,
Sorry to hear about all the bad things your going through.
Stay positive and strong like you are and things will go well for ya. Tammy
