I am so happy to hear things are going well for Bob! You get your rest and relax. It looks like the worst is over and it's recover time!!:)

Hi M2M, so sorry to hear about everything that has happened. It seems like they have figured out what's wrong with Bob? Glad to hear he's coming home, that's great. Hope you and your family have a wonderful day; it must be such a relief for him to be coming home. I hope the health issues are resolved.

Hope everything continues to improve for you & Bob. Good luck with your day & getting some sleep. Think good thoughts. All that stress has to have burned a few calories here & there!

& I have to agree with what everyone else has said, you are one amazing strong woman!

Certainly glad to hear things are moving along in a positive direction. I'm sure the adjustments you all are about to go through will be yet another test of patience which you'll lead your family through with your incredible sensibility and determination.

Stay strong Debi :)

Good Morning Everyone,

I have a bit more time to post the details...

They took Bob in yesterday morning to preform an EPS test. It's where they send a catheter into the heart from the arteries in the leg. Once the catheter was in the heart, they shot electrical impulses to find out if the neurons that control the pumping of the heart were working (since the EKG read out showed that they weren't working properly.)

While they were in there, they recreated the experience that caused him to black out. They fibrilated his heart, which caused his blood pressure to drop and took him almost to blacking out then pulled him out of it. They did this several times. Apparently Bob's body's response to this fibrilation was something only one of the doctors had only seen twice in 20 years.

While they had the catheter in the heart - they performed an Ablation where they weere able to destroy the problem cells in the heart which forces the heart's impulses to take the normal conduction route/pathway.

They then tested him again by putting his heart back in fibrilation and repeated the sequence of events that led up to the black out - all with no effect. They completely fixed the problem - no pace maker needed!

Apparently, there was no way we could have ever known that he had this kind of problem. Most annual EKG's are short tests, and would not have picked up the problem, he would have had to be under observation for it to be picked up. He would have gone right up until he had a heart attack.

Today is Bob's 50th birthday. He gave us the best present he could have - and that's now, a clean bill of health and a fixed heart!

Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers & well wishes, they have meant more then you guys can ever know.

And to answer the question of burned calories, well, yeah, I'm at 175 today ;)

Fantastic news M! Yayayayayay! So glad that Bob is well and problem is fixed so you guys can help him celebrate a very happy 50th birthday! Happy Birthday Bob!

And if I do the math right, you have only 20 pounds to go. Way to go! :D

Thanks for yesterday's discussion, you gave me much to think about. I was overwhelmed that you took the time out of your hectic schedule to share your opinion with me. I took no prisoners and accepted no excuses on the other end of my phone calls you told me to make.

It was the kick in the ass I needed

Thanks much :)

I'm glad you're all together at home and enjoying good tidings - here's to a great day ;)
