M2M -
I use Limewire to download songs on the IPOD. I just use the trial version. It does a fantastic job and its free. Only downfall is you cannot preview the music.

Wow. Your plan looks super great. I'm rooting for ya girl. :)
And wow. You're almost to the big 50.
I've been plateau-ing since forever. Soon you'll just walk right past me to the big 50 finish line. :)

Hi Everyone,
I ended yesterday with 1489 calories - I tell ya, sometimes it feels like work getting that many!

Megan has a freind visiting over last night, and the parents are due to pick her up this morning, and I didn't know what time, so I didn't take my walk this morning - I plan on doing it this afternoon.

As for the iPOD, I honestly don't even know what limewire is - Bob is downloading a bunch of music today so by tonight's walk, I should be set!

And C - I won't walk right past you - we're walking this road together!!

M2M,

I know what you mean about really having to work to get the calories up. I never ever thought I would have trouble eating my recommended intake of 1800.

Tunes on the road? Keep a lookout for cars... rumour has it that they hurt when hit by them.

Hi Everyone,

I just got back from my endurance walk - I went 7.3 miles in 135 minutes (18.49 minutes per mile). Each Sunday I plan on adding a mile until I'm up to 13 miles at a shot and then the goal is to get it down to 15 minutes a mile.

Tomorrow's plan is:
Monday - Xtrain 2 circuits & 2.5 miles Moderate (3 mph)

I won't do any intensity bursts on days I do the xtraining circuit. I'm still sore from yesterday's xtraining - OMG it so kicked my butt!

It's 9:20 pm and I'm only at 890 calories today and that's with breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner & dessert. I plan on eating something when I'm off the computer since I don't want to end the day like that, but I hate eating this late too. Yes Mike, I never ever thought I would have trouble eating my recommended intake either! Geesh

So, have I mentioned how much I love my iPod???

Bob downloaded a ton of music today and I put it on my ipod and just started listening alphabetically - the really cool thing is that I was loving the music that was downloaded, and then a Dave song would pop up, it made his music all the more sweet :)

Ohh...and my walk tonight was late (6:15p-8:30p) and I'm walking home in the dark and Green Day came on singing Boulavard of Broken Dreams - it seriously goes well with walking alone in the dark! LOL!

And Mike, thanks for the heads up about cars, I've heard that silly rumour as well! Besides, Lee told me I had to look up occasionally to make sure I'm still in the same state - so it's all good :D

Good Night you guys!

Thanks Lee, I feel really good about all this :D

As for this morning, I decided to only do 1 circuit of cross training exercises. I did 2 circuits day before yesterday and my muscles are just now starting to recover ;) I think I jumped the gun a bit!

And instead of walking 2.5 miles - I walked 2.

I did finish yesterday with 1100 calories. I really don't like eating that late anymore, but I don't know which is worse, eating late or ending the day with 890 calories and risking my body thinking I'm starving it.

OMG M2. You are doing incredible. How are your new runners or did you get any? I was searching through your diary and found that your husband and daughter got you a new iPod. That is so kewl...I bet that makes your walks that much more quicker. I really want an iPod too :( ... I am planning on taking up walking during the day because right now it is so very hot here but we are getting a reprive with cooler weather soon. Also tomorrow is my "quit smoking day" so I guess I better pick up a good habit to compensate for the bad habit. :D I know in the long run I will start to feel 1,000,000 times better..and I can't wait. Have a great day M2 and take care.

WOOOHOOO! You are doing incredible!!!!! The cheering section is going WILD!!!!!! Congrats on your loss and your hard work...you are proof postive of what can be acheived!

M, I think that goes through all our minds. your hungry and don't want to go to bed hungry but it's late. The calories are too low and you really need a few hundred more. With all the exercising you do it shouldn't be a huge problem. Keep it you I think your doing great. Me if i walk all the way to the mail box its a good day.... ;)

Oh, C - I'm so glad to hear that you're walking!! You've been in my thoughts a lot lately! I know that when I walk, I feel energized and it helps me deal and cope with the stresses easier.

Jodee - CONGRATULATIONS on your quit day!! It's not easy - but damn, is it worth it. I know you'll fee 1,000,000 x 10 better in the long run - GOOD FOR YOU!!

Spelin, You are such an amzing cheerleader! I love knowing I have you in my corner :D I hope the party is a HUGE fun bash tonight!

Lee, I think you're right - with all the exercising I do, grabbing those calories at night wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen to me. The funny thing, was I wasn't all that hungry when I came home from walking - it was my head telling me that I couldn't end the day with too few calories.

Hey M2M....wow you are doing so well!!!! We definitely are going to have to rename you Forrest Gump!!!! LOL!!!!!

Oooh, Scarlett, what calculator were you using?

This was from another diary and a few days ago....but someone turned me on to this one and it's soooooo much better!!!!! It also led me to believe that part of the reason I've been plateauing is because I haven't been eating enough....can you beat that?

Wishing you a great week!!!

Thanks M2. My husband and I went for a 2 mile walk tonight and I was telling him about you and how you aquired your iPod. :D I thought that I would tell him your story so that maybe one day soon he will also surprise me with one. ;) Yep tomorrow is our quit day and I am really happy about it. Yes I know it will be tough but I can do it. I will do it. I will be so much better without it. I want to be able to walk 5 miles without huffing and puffing. It will happen.

Hugs for you M2. :D

Hey M2M, thanks for dropping in to visit my diary. Your ticker is certainly heading in the right direction. And I totally agree with what you say about walking. I so need to get back to that.

Good Morning :)

I am so excited! My walking buddy is home from her TOO long vacation (she's been gone since 21 July!) It was so motivating getting up this morning to walk knowing I was meeting her!

I put in 4 miles at 3.5 mph. For two miles, I would walk for 4 minutes then jog for 1 minute - for the last 2 miles with Betsy, I didn't do the intensity bursts.

Yesterday, I got in 1202 calories - I'm not sure where those 2 little calories came from but there they are ;) I still want to get between 1300-1500 so I'm working my way up!

I'm going to buy some small hand weights to go with my circuit training exercises - I'm thinking only 2 pounds each, but I'm afraid it will just about kill me!

Scarlet - thanks for the link! I think the reason I've been plateau'ing is for the same thing - too few calories.

Jodee - you're so cute! I hope telling your dh the iPod story will motivate him! Although subtlety has never been good for me, you'd have to hit me on the head! And I don't think I answered your earlier question, yes, I got some new shoes, some New Balance - they're nice, and roomy, supportive and will do until they wear out, but they're not THE shoe, I'll find them some day!

I'm really kicking around the idea of getting the NIKE+ shoes to go with my iPOD http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/gear.htm

And CONGRATULATIONS! This is the day!! Go you :D Remember, it's tough, but you CAN get through today, tomorrow and the rest of this week!

DQ - thanks :) Remember, you need to take it easy!
L-Jay - it's good to see you back!! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there. I haven't really been online a whole lot lately. My husband is out of town and I'm realizing it is a lot of work being a single mom. I really don't know how some women do it. Anyway I'm popping by to say hello and sorry that I haven't come by your journal in a while!

You sound so very excited that your walking buddy is back. I know how it is when your walking buddy is unavilable. It just isn't as fun.

My walking buddie got stolen from me when my back was out and I couldn't go for my usual fast and long walks. I walk with her every now and then but I mostly walk with the baby or by myself with my mp3 player. I must say that it is nice to gab for an hour uninterrupted while you get your exercise!
