it's been almost a month since i have been here and i am so sorry. i see you are totally kicking it and starting to help others. You are truely doing an amazing job and must feel GREAT.

I am a bit off today, I had a minor accident yesterday while cooking that caused minor burns to my thumb and index finger of my hand.So I kinda have restricted movements,Till then I am following my diet and letting it heal so I can be back with a vengeance :)

Hi so my minor burns have healed :) I don't have any restricted moves to make,I am so relieved!Anyways I did my prananayam today and I will be doing 20 minutes of cardio later in the day,I am also planning to start my bharatnatyam practice,dance is a good way to burn calories :)For those who are unaware, bharatnatyam is a classical dance from southern India,often said to be dancing yoga :)
 
hiya...........So here is my journal for today -Did my pranayam,30 minutes of bike with rpm 45 and my dance practice a good 30 minutes :)Hey but I did eat a couple of cookies yesterday,could not resist them,When I do moderate exercise,I tend to follow my diet religiously, and when I do more of physical activities , i over- indulge and that also in high carb foods...Like if I have a choice of fruit and cookies ,I will pick up a cookie :(,Not that I have not tried making right choices,even if i pick up a fruit, I still feel hungry ......Anyone with similar problem .......?

Yes, i have that feeling too. Sometimes no matter what i eat, good or bad, i am still hungry. There is nothing worse than being hungry. With me it can lead to some bad things. I will often binge and eat in excess.

I need to make sure i am eating enough food and not restricting my calories too much. I like to space out my meals every couple of hours so i never get to that ravenous state. Also, there are sometimes when you are hungry and need to eat a little extra, dont deprive yourself. Hope this helps..

Even I try to eat enough, as per my dietitian's guidelines,have buttermilk,have fruit serving,have your 15 almonds quota,but there are some days that make me hungry even if I have this all:svengo:It might be some kind of stress eating......maybe cause then when I have a cookie or something else that's not permitted in my diet, I feel good.Earlier I use to fuzz a lot about it but now i don't,may be a little, but that's ok :)

Todays journal---- Had done 45minutes,bike and then 45 minutes turbo jam cardio party :)
 
My city has come to a standstill due to swine flu pandemic :( We are all taking the necessary precautions,things will be fine soon.........

Today I did 60 minutes of bike and then my dance practice for 45 minutes, am feeling much much better :)

I think I read a few weeks bck that you are doing Bharatnatyam. That is super cool!! I want to join a Bharatnatyam class too, but my coordination is really bad. So my friends are suggesting Kathakali (which is also supposed to be intense but not as intense as Bharatnatyam). I want to learn a dance form, but also get some exercise out of the way. What do you suggest? Your input will be most appreciated.

Hi there,there was nothing much to write about in my journal as I was following the same routine so I thought would put it on weekend-
My daily workout- 45 minutes bike and 45 minutes bharatnatyam
I wished to increase my workouts this week but could not do so, I will increase it later as my body gets accusustomed to the workouts :)

Hi Juni,Thanks dear for stopping by my journal,I am glad to know that you are interested in Indian dance form,I think your friends are suggesting Katthak,It is one of the most elegant dance forms and yes it is rigorous too,As far as Kathakali goes,it is also vigorous with a lot of make up and accesories but I am not a fan of it,and I prefer Katthak :) You are doing very well girl,your thread is on my should visit list on this forum :)

We are going to be a couple of dancers!! :hurray::hurray: This is very exciting.

And good going on the workouts. It is amazing how disciplined you are, 90 minutes of exercise daily is no joke. And I didn't know you were a doctor, either. Nice!!

Hi all its festival season here,so lots of sweets, laddoos and modaks :)Its going to be weight gain period for atleast 10 days of the festival :cuss:I managed to do 45 minutes of bike yesterday that's all,I don't think I will be doing any exercise today.........But I am regular with my pranayam

Yes it is indeed very exciting, we can have jugalbandi( In jugalbandi, both musicians and the dancers act as lead players, and a playful competition often ensues between the two performers.).It will be fun :)

It must be a great time of year for you. Festivals are always fun. We have fairs and festivals during the fall season so they will be right around the corner.

Remember this is a lifestyle and not a restriction. Dont beat yourself up if you have some treats. Everything in moderation and you will be fine. I'm sure you have been working hard so you need to enjoy yourself as well. Have some fun!!!
