A change for life

Another week over

Vacation came and went pretty fast. I did enjoy sleeping in and napping ;-) Anyway...

Thanks for the comments and support guys! I feel good and am really liking this new type of life. Still gotta tell myself it will come and not get too down it's not happening fast enough. it seems you get a taste of what's to come and you can't help but want it tomorrow.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still on it and comming along nicely. Talk to ya soon.
 
Wow, 20lb keep up the great work. I just started working on loosing weight, it's hard to think about what I'll look like 60lb from now but you said it right, "if we fail to plan, our plan will fail". Great attitude! Hang in there! :)
 
well my weights been fluctuating between 240-245 this last week but I did reach a goal early! I successfully wore a pair of pants I have been keeping in my closet for oh, 2 years! Got one more pair that is ohhh sooo close to looking good enough for work. Goal for those is second week in october. I'm on my way!!!
 
My routine is becoming pretty stable.
I hit the gym everyday, whether for cardio (treadmil or eliptical) or for weights or both. I'm lucky that my brother is training me. That means he pisses me off (who wants to listen to their younger brother???) but he also motivates me. I'm seeing the difference and in about 3 weeks I'll post my 6 week picturs since joining this forum. I''ll dig a little deeper into my routine here soon.
 
Monday.....

What a weekend. Didn't do real good eating wise, but I am not getting down on myself. I had a really good shoulders and chest workout tonight. I think the weight loss isn't showing up due to the increase in muscle mass ;-) Anyway, decided I wasn't going to weigh myself until I post some new pictures in a few weeks.

I'm hitting my water intake and for the most part making smart food decisions. I guess I need to hit those websites everybody's been touting on here to track calories and sodium, etc.

Work Sucks...Anyway

Good day today. Ate a muffin for breakfast, Spinach Lasagne and Sweet Potatoe for Lunch/afternoon snack. Roast beef and tomato on whole wheat bread for dinner and my protein shake right now. Did 40 minutes on the eliptical and 45 min weight training my back. Got some nice compliments at the gym from one of the trainers there, says I'm shrinking and looking good ;-)

Haven't weighed myself in 5 days or so. My goal of being 243 by tomorrow has already been reached so no need to weigh myself. Guess i will weigh in a week from tomorrow to see if I'm successfully at 241 (I should be :)...

Can't wait til friday for my paycheck so I can stock back up on my healthy foods. Gotta say, it's great eating good stuff, but the good stuff seems to be alot more expensive that the bad stuff. Oh well, can't put a price on your health.

Congrats on hitting your goal! I just read through your previous posts. You said some really inspiring things in there. Keep up the great work!!

It kind of makes me mad that the healthier stuff is so expensive.. then everyone complains at how fat America is. *sigh* I suppose this isn't the place for a rant is it...lol. have a great day Dave. :D (Ps. eveytime I see or heard the name Dave I think of cheech & chong - "Dave's not here man!"... lol)
 
I can't stand that it's cheaper to stock up on junk food than it is to stock up on things that are actually GOOD for you.

You are doing awesome!! Keep it up, and way to go reaching your goal early!
 
Groceries!!!

My brother Ted went to Sam's Club today and bought a bunch of good stuff!!! Looks like taking my lunch to work tomorrow....
Ted was telling me today that another trainer at the gym told him I was looking good. Just the motivation I needed to go hit the eliptical and do a kick ass leg routine with the weights. Had my protein shake and some granola and am ready for a good nights sleep.

Cardinals won game two of the NLDS!! Well, time to chill out and enjoy the evening..g'night and good luck all

Has it really been a week?

Well I can't believe it's been a week since my last post. Oh well..
This past week has had some ups and downs. I ate good food for the most part, but maybe a bit too much of it??? Drank beer on Sunday night watching the Cardinals game :)

I felt weak and a little down on Monday though. But I got to the gym and started keeping my calories at around 1800. Today will be a little bit more as I am going to have a few beers with some Mets Fans from work as we watch game one tonight at the bar. I want to stick to around 4 beers, which (as unhealthy as it sounds) will replace my normal after workout protein shake...oh well...still have to live life right?

We are starting a biggest loser contest at work. Excellent, just the type of motivation I need to re-focus on kicking ass....

Just dropping back in for an update. The snow came and blanketed us on Friday the 13th and well, needless to say, I ate whatever I could find with the week long power outage. Seriously, no power from 5pm thursday to 3pm on tuesday. So me and my brother ate out quite a bit. Then my older brother came to visit from Orlando. Plenty of Canadian beer and of course pizza and wings. It's amazing I didn't put on 10 lbs!!

I'm still around 245 mainly due to the fact that I really didn't overdue anything. Even with eating out, I wasn't eating until i was stuffed like i used to do. Although it wasn't sensible food (ate at two barbeque joints), I stuck with good sides and smaller portions.

Still got lifting done for the most part and hit my legs tonight. I need to jump back on that cardio train though. Tomorrow is the day to get that back on straight. Oh, by the way...Go Cardinals!!
