A brand new start

Hmm hourly childcare. Yeah, that might be an idea. Babysitting definitely takes a toll on your house, though. Not to mention your nerves! But I guess, having taught kids before...

Better yet, put an ad in the paper, call yourself a governess, and slap on a fake accent and $50/hr rate and your set for life!

Seriously, though, hope you find something. ;)

Hey Scrappy, I was in Orlando during the three hurricanes last year and it was just awful, but I cannot imagine what those poor people in New Orleans are going through. Today in class we were talking about how we feel guilty for complaining last year. It's just so terrible.

The daycare idea sounds like a good plan. Doesn't Jennifer run a daycare from her home? Might be something for the two of you to chat about.

You're doing great!

Grils, you are the best!!!
I do not want to do actual, consistent childcare, just occasional babysitting. (I was thinking of calling it, "At the Drop of a Hat." Whatcha think?) So, people would be less likely to put me on their taxes, not pay me, etc.
I am afriad of the toll it will take on my brand-spanking-new house, but again, if it is hourly, less likely. And if a certain child is the spawn of Satan I can just not take him/her again.
I'm liking the Governess deal. You are too funny, Ex!
The hurricane thing. I'm still just sick about it. You're right, Fuunky. What we whined about was soooo not like this. For two of the hurricanes, I didn't even lose power! I whined that I was stuck inside my house with nowhere for the kids to go. And if only those people were stuck inside a house with nowhwere for the kids to go. I just keep thinking about the pregnant people and the single moms with a few kids. And the thought of relocating. It just reminds me of the wild west when people left everything behind and went off for adventure. What adventures will these people have? And all those people who boarded busses to TX assured that their families would be on their way. And they will be, but I doubt they will be sent to the same place since the Astrodome is filling up, as will other places. And what about the cities in TX? They are being so generous, but how will they fare. Thousands of people enrolling in their schools, entering their welfare system (I would think, since they left with nothing and have nothing), fighting to survive!
I hate to drone on. I'm normally a very optimistic person with little patience for whining, but I'm just trying to make sense of it all.

I don't have television here so I am not up to date on all the news. When I sign on the internet a few news pics pop up, but I never really read them. After all this talk of Hurricane Katrina, I watched some news online and could not believe what I saw. I had no idea it was this severe!
I feel guilty beyond belief! This hole time I just kept ignoring my little news pop-ups and thought they were annoying! I sat and watched 350 pic slide show about some of the people that were affected. I would not wish it on my worst enemy.
I will pray for all that it has affected, diretly and indirectly.

Scrappy, "At the drop of a Hat" sounds cute! You know you are so creative. Thats why you do scrap books heh?
I still never made a scrapbook. Don't know if I'll ever have the TIME! LOL

The aftermath of Katrina is just mind-boggling, isn't it?
I strive to be creative! I've recently been making little albums made with paper lunch bags. I just finished one for my MIL. Helps get me through the day without chocolate! LOL
Went walking yesterday. Been making better choices with food...

I know I should be posting, but not sure what to say, because I sound like a broken record (cd?). I'm doing better with meals, but am falling prey to M&M's. Haven't had enough water. Took the kids out to ride trikes in the neighboring church parking lot, if you call that exercise. :)

Here's the plan:
Take Aaron to school and get Dave and Sam to do the exercise video with me before 9! I'll post to see that I did it!
Let's see!

Did the workout again yesterday, but today I was too busy to squeeze in a workout... went to look at a daycare for the boys, did the grocery shopping, and went to lunch with the mommy's group. Looking forward to that workout in the morning.

Thanks, Fuunky and Newbride! Didn't work out yesterday because I thought DH and were going to walk the neighborhood, but that didn't happen. But... we are off to walk as a family in a couple of minutes...
Talk to you later!
