A brand new start

Hdy, Texas, You can't be half bad if your weakness is donuts!! I love donuts... especially on Sundays after church. Luckily, here the donut shop is closed on Sundays. Last week I had a donut from WalMart and it wasn't the same. That is probably a good thing. Most of the time I don't really feel like I am being deprived, per se. I just know that I eat to calm my wracked nerves (now, how would they get like that?) and if there are no things in the house that will do the job then I can't eat them. Usually, when I truly want something because I want it and not because I just need to sink my teeth into something rather than exploding, I have it, because that true desire doesn't happen much. And when I really want something in particular I sometimes can get away with a "close second" or a homemade version rather than a store bought one. Haven't found a "close second" for donut lust, though. (Tried a bagel with jelly. Nope, didn't work...)
Went for sweaty walk in the park today. YES!
Did so, so on the food. Good breaky and lunch... plan fell apart when I discovered water running in the house, but not anywhere I could see it. (Turns out there were two nails nailed into the pipe and it took 3 months for the water to find it's way around the nails to puddle inside my wall. God love the neighbor (just so happens that he works for the builder). He came over and called the plumber and got it fixed. He even said that he would come back in the morning and put my utility room back together.
Anyway... this happened as I was already rushing around like a maniac trying to get dinner ready and the boys were nuts... and I'm tired just thinking about it...

Trucking along here with a two pound loss! yes!!!
Weekend food was a complete bust! Can't seem to drink enough water and got no exercise. But! I am riding the two pound loss all the way to a dedicated week! Help me, Girls!

You bet, Christina!!
Just sitting around feeling kinda crappy (cold coming on) and thought I'd check in! I was going to get up early today and I overslept. Then I was going to exercise, but the phone rang and it was the carpet man coming over to fix the seam on the carpet. No exercise. Hmm. Just a lazy day. I went through the boys clothing to get some cooler weather stuff out for them. Stuff that fits! hehe.

You can't exercise later? My day gets so busy...I wake @ 5 to get to work @ 7 and then exercise comes after work but that's if I don't go to a meeting or see friends...The bus takes a while to get me everywhere! :)

Seems like Mondays are the days like ....woops what did I do this weekend. That's how I was...but Now I'm back on track, like you! Way to go!

It just doesn't happen later! Like right now... I am wearing my exercise "gear" because I told the boys I was going to exercise. Then the phone rang, and the playdough attraction wore off, and the computer called me, and I'm now covered in Little People with a zebra sniffing the zoo keeper's bad breath...
I used to exercise after they went to bed, but that just isn't happening lately. I really like getting it over with, so that I don't take away from my kid-free/hubby time in the late evenings.
Ah, I should just quit my whinning and get my butt in front of the dvd!
I'll check back in 35 minutes to own up to my good or bad behavior!

You betcha, Skinny! "Richard" and I did a little sweatin' to the oldies tonight. I feel really reved! I'm noticing that I have an easier time getting my water in if I'm working out hard. (I know, I know... duh? But, somehow that clicked for me tonight.)
Christina,
I hear ya with the little money; little shopping! Luckily for me, God gave me three boys. I just move clothes over and my boys are still young enough to not mind hand-me-downs and to not wear them out before passing them on. Plus, it always seems that God gives me a friend with a boy just a bit older than mine. Phew! And my kiddos find this fascinating. "Mom, was this shirt Adam's or Josh's." (Friends' kids.)

Today
Breakfast birthday cake
milk
bbq buffet lunch (coleslaw, bbq pork, green beans, cabbage, sweet potatoes, hash and rice, macaroni and cheese, half sweet tea)
snickers bar
diet pepsi
1 medium granny smith apple
1 small gala apple
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
toasted pecans

Can you tell it was a friend's birthday? We delivered a breakfast birthday treat to her house early this morning. Then her daughter watched the boys while she and I went out to lunch. Then we all (her two and my three children) went bowling. (The boys loved the bowling!) We all had a vending machine treat at the bowling alley. I told her it was the best birthday. Haha. As you can guess though, I ate that apple because I needed a very light dinner! :)

Off to watch a movie!

Today's exercise
sweatin' to the oldies

I love my dad. Yesterday I had a craving for oatmeal cookies. I was online looking for a recipe when my dad called. He asked if I would bake him some cookies and mail them to him. "Sure, Dad. What kind would you like?" He says, "How 'bout oatmeal? I haven't had those in a while." "Dad, you won't believe this, but I'm on the interenet right now and I was looking up oatmeal cookie recipes!" I let him pick which recipe to try and they were good. Which is why I love to bake for other people... so they don't stay in the house! (Like they would with three boys and a husband!)
Another conversation with Dad... just tonight. I made some joke about the ceiling fan costing $115. (Which it didn't, but...) And he said to me, in this quiet, cautious voice: "You know, for another 40 dollars, you could've gotten an air conditioner." LOL! The man slays me!
Anyway... in a rambling mood, I guess!

Okay if you like baking and sending cookies to people my address is........lol
my mother has my sweatin to the oldies and "toning with richard" tapes....I need her to give them back...they are nice to have around when you cant make it to the gym

KC,
You are too funny! I love to bake(I find it very theraputic), but the only way I can do it is to give it away...
(I've said it before... me baking is a lot like asking an alcoholic to tend bar!)
Those Richard tapes do come in handy when you can't get out. I just got done doing the Oldies one. My 3 year old was watching with me and he asked, "Why is that guy with the red shorts and two shirts in the front all the time?!" Haha. I said, "Because he is Richard." LOL

Okay, guys...
I need to start doing more about my caloric intake. I've upped my working out (now doing about 5 half hours a week) and I'm not noticing much movement on the scale. I know WATER intake would boost my downward spiral, but I need to take a bigger bite outta my calories (ahahaha). I want to start counting calories. Can you recommend a user-friendly site that lists calories?
Thanks!

I know what you mean about baking being theraputic, it's the smell I think. I have been burning some absolutley gorgeous scented candles lately and I realized that they are all food smells, pecan pie, grandma's kitchen, cherry pie and finally hot chocolate. It's as though the smell of baked goods keeps me happy. Weird I know but hey if it works :D As for calorie counting I haven't the faintest I'm sure a google search should bring something up.
