A brand new start

Not to worry, Jennifer and Cocogirl! I wound up going to bed without the ice cream. And I am a one scoop kinda girl, anyway. "Remember the wagon," is my new catch phrase, however. :D

...struggling to drink all that water...

Wanted to share something strange...
My official weigh in for this week is 185.5. That was Monday's weight. I only record Monday's weight. I do, however, weigh myself everyday. (Anal, I suppose.) On Tuesday and Wednesday my weight was 190. I couldn't believe that Valentine's Day was that "dangerous" so what was up with a 5 pound gain? Then today I hop up on the scale and I register 184.
What do ya make of that.
Totallyscrappy

Nothing out of the ordinary :) .It is normal for your weight to go up and dow during the day.It can be due to liquid intake, your period, and etc.Remeber your true weight is when you weigh yourself first thing in the morning, after going to the bathroom and before having anything to drink or eat. Also, always try to weigh yourself in the same clothes and do not move your scale from the spot.Congratulations on not eating ice-cream :p .One scoop girl doeasn't work for me,today is one scoop, tomorrow 21 scoop.Nop,keep away from the scoops.Think about it this way:the fact that you ate one scoop of ice-cream got you to the weight you are trying to loose now.

Hi scrappy I can jump on the scales of a morning and im around 2 kgs lighter then what I am of an afternoon (6pm is my weigh in time). I can have a couple of beers and Im a kilo heaver the next day. Truthfully I have no idea what to make of it ….. Makes ya watch what you put in ya mouth but ay

I can remember sugar not salt made me retain water when I was pregnant,..my doctor told me the reason why but now I completely forget the reason why ,..so my post is pointless,..kinda like forgetting the punch line.' :p

Oh who the heck cares,...your at 184 now!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Ladies! I'm so happy this happens to everyone! I don't know why, but I've noticed that my body "dances around" a new number before settling on it. Not quite like watching a roulette wheel, but something similar. 185, 186, 184.5 ... 184! It's almost like the body has to get used to the new number. Hopefully, I won't "settle" with a number for too long before continuing the downward glide!
When I saw the numbers dancing around that 190 that I thought I was "over" I started to panic. I just reminded myself of the numbers that I'm not even close to anymore...205, 204, 203... Calmness restored.

Thanks, guys!

I do feel awesome! In fact, I went shopping today. I went to Target and to Lane Bryant to buy some capri pants. I tried on the stuff in Target, but I really wanted red (you know, that pretty "brick" red that is so popular right now). So, not having shopped in a while, I wanted to go to Lane Bryant to see what they had. (On the website they had very cool red capris, but I didn't want to order off the net because of sizing.) Lane Bryant was kind of a bust (limited choices and not really what I wanted), so I went back to Target. (That and I decided that I really didn't want to spend a lot of money on clothes that won't fit for long.)

Okay, to make a long story boring... I went back to Target and bought a pair of black capri pants that cuff and button at the cuff (optional), a pair of hot pink capris that gently flare at the bottom, and a white shirt with very flattering hot pink and black thin stripes. Now, they are a bit snug (because I want to get some use out of them), but... get this... (drum roll, please) a size 18 for the shirt, a size 16W for the black pants, and a 16 for the hot pink ones!!! :D :D :D

A plain number. They were in the REGULAR section... NO W on the tag!! (Hey, that could be the title of a scrapbook page!)

Once, in high school, I wore a pair of size 16 jeans that belonged to a friend. But these are mine!!!

Thanks for being my cheering section!

Oh, yeah, today's food

cranberry crunch cereal (1 cup)
1/2 cup 1% milk
water

5 saltine crackers
7 marble cheese cubes
handful of covered pretzels
water

ham and swiss on whole wheat with mustard
broccolli and three cheese ranch dressing for dipping
peach slices and strawberries
1/2 a scoop of "chocolate lover's trash" ice cream
diet coke with lime

sidenote here: Isn't it hard to find a true whole wheat bread? I know the ones with birdseed in them are whole wheat, but most of the other ones that call themselves, "whole wheat," are just enriched wheat flour, not whole wheat flour.

Another sidenote: Fuunkymonk, I bought my peaches at Publix and they weren't any better than your Target peaches! I'll stick to strawberries for a while before I try another peach!

You crack me up, Jennifer! I lived in Canada for 5 years when hubby and I first married. (We are both Americans, though.) I loved the different plus size shops on the Canadian market. Many of the "regular" shops offered a plus size selection and several even offered another store. Cotton Ginny was my favorite, with Weekend Edition being a close second. Where we live now, the mall doesn't even have one plus size store. I used to be stuck going to Sears, Burdines, or Dillards. (As if I have bought new clothes recently!) You're right... not any more!!! (In fact, I've promised myself an outfit from Ann Taylor Loft for my birthday or Easter.)

Dillards,..oh you pour thing, you and your grandma could have matching outfits? UGH...
I love old navy and they have a plus size line now in the states,....not here yet. I love old navy,....especialy for the kids. Depending on the cut and how much "strectch " are in the jeans I can wear em now, and I have this lovely linen dress waiting in my closet for me to wear this spring, ....but I am really hoping by the time O.N. plus size comes to Canada ...I wont need it anymore.
Lets face it they dont always carry the cute stuff from a size 10, 12, 14..on up to a 18 ,..they like to add a nice big embroidered flower,..or some sequince,..yah,..like that just made me feel a whole lot smaller. Like what are they thinking, that all woman of size love the life of Vegas or something!!!!!!

Jennifer! ROFL! What? Not a Vegas girl? :D
That reminds me of my favorite comment about the making of plus size clothing. I really think that they take a size 4 outfit, place it on a photocopier and just "blow it up" until it is a size 18, 20, or whatever size they are trying to market. The trouble is... I don't have a huge neck, or exceptionally large wrists. (And for goodness sakes, my arms are NOT that long!)
Looking forward to clothes that fit better...

Oh no, you got crappy peaches too? They must be going out of season. Too bad, I love peaches.
It's so funny that you were talking about clothing and what you'll be able to wear soon. I was looking in a Delias catalog that my best friend gets, and I always look through it, but this time I was secretly picking out the things that I would be able to wear someday and I was getting so excited. They had a lot of cute stuff too. I'm always stuck wearing the same clothes to work and school because I hate going shopping and I can rarely find stuff I like. But someday we'll be able to wear all kinds of cute stuff! Yess!
