A 23.5 kg long journey down the scale

I still don't get it! Why am I not losing weight? For example today I've estimated my calories to 1360 kcal << 2500 kcal ! I should be losing weight but why am I not seeing that on the damn scale? :willy_nilly:

Breakfast: Pancake with strawberry jam, slice of loaf (250 kcal)
Lunch: Ham casserole (325 kcal)
Snacks: Clementine, 2 small cookies, piece of cake (225 kcal)
Dinner: Rice porridge, slice of loaf with low fat cheese (350 kcal)
Drinks: Water, coffee and skimmed milk (210 kcal)

are you weighing yourself in the morning?!
and are you watching your salt intake?

It might be that your gaining water weight with the salt!

With your calorie intake, and the exercise you're doing, you should be losing!

Yes I weigh myself first thing in the mornings, after I've been to the bathroom. I'm not watching my salt intake, though. But if I would lose weight I think the general trend still should be down, you can't put on so much water weight in the long run. I should be losing weight but maybe I have an extraordinarily low metabolism or I'm still underestimating my calorie intake or a combination of both. I think I still have to wait and see if I lose some in the upcoming two weeks or so.

i soooo understand what you mean...
ok i did have some bad food choices over the last 2 days...
but my calorie intake was never higher than 1250
and i had a really long workout too..
maybe it is about the salt...hmmm i ate out in restaurants....where i cant control the sale in the food.

Hmm, only 6 min. of cardio today. I got really tierd during that time. Again I did a few rounds of resistance training instead. Raspberry and blueberry got to be my favorite mix of berrys, so yummy! :drool5:

Lunch: Ham casserole, small slice of bread
Snacks: Apple, 2 small cookies, piece of cake, 4 chocolates
Dinner: Raspberry and blueberry soup with whipped cream, slice of loaf with low fat cheese

Thank you!

But now my wieght has been up and down for two weeks and I have not really lost anything...:banghead:

You still got progress by fitting into the jeans!! Awesome job :) Maybe its because your body is used to the exercise and the food so you need to shake things up? I sometimes would just treat myself to a high whatever day and then it seemed to work. Plus sometimes i just really wanted a high whatever day and wanted an excuse ;p

I'm sure somethings happening though! Hope the scale moves for you soon!

During the last 21 days my weight has been 84.x kg no less than 15 days. It really seems like I'm at real plateau weight loss wise. :banghead: I think I'll give it one more week then I shall see what I'll do. My body seems to be comfortable where it is and don't want to let go of any more weight. Since the cardio work outs don't work for me no more and haven't really resulted in any weight loss I think that I'll cut down my gym sessions to 2 times per week, doing resistance training only. I may have some firewood work coming up in March so I think that will do for my cardio exercise.

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Ham casserole
Snacks: 5 small cookies, piece of cake
Dinner: 2 rice cakes and a bun with sliced ham
Drinks: Water, coffee and skimmed milk

hey. sorry to hear about your plateau! i haven't read much of your diary, but what kind of cardio do you do? maybe try interval training, if you aren't doign that now? like 30 seconds moderate intensity, and 30 seconds high intensity? good luck... and good job on all the weight loss so far!! :D

Sorry to hear that it's not dropping off of ya...that's disappointing and discouraging! But you are doing all the right things!

Have you tried to count your calories? Perhaps you should try that. You may find that you're consuming more calories than you think.

Also, do you do both circut/strength training along with your cardio? You might want to mix it up a bit!

Regardless- you're working very hard and doing a good job of sticking with your exercising. It's a shame that you're not seeing the results you want- but keep it up! You really are working very hard, and should be proud of everything you're doing!

I have tried to mix things up, doing both weights and cardio during my gym sessions, I even have tried to do the cardio in interval training style. But lately I somehow can't manage myself to do the cardio. Maybe it's because I haven't seen any results on the scale lately. But I'm not ready to give up at all, I think that I can get quite a lot of cardio from firewood work coming up. And I will continue with my diet and food diary. I think I still can cut back on calories in my diet because I have no problem with hunger or such as it is. So at least cut out the daily cakes and maybe cut down on portion sizes.

Still 84.x kg. Maybe I really should stop having a small cake every day. The cookies are only approximately 30 kcal a piece. Really tried to take a small portion of rice with todays lunch, as I always does. If I not soon see 83.x on the scale I don't know what to do. I'm already probably eating less than my mother and she is 56 kg...

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Chicken breast with rice
Snacks: Clementine, 2 small cookies, piece of cake
Dinner: Sea-buckthorn and blueberry soup with whipped cream, bun with sliced ham
Drinks: Water, coffee and skimmed milk

Finally a reading of 83.x (again)! Hope for more of those in the days to come. Yeah, I can do 26 push ups without rest. I thought that was pretty good but looking at a online test results table that only puts me at the lower end of a "Average" performance level (24-34) for my age group. Well still better than "Very Poor" (<15) where I was a few months ago. At my target weight I think I could even get a "Good" result at my current fitness level. Problem is I'm far from there yet.

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Chicken breast with rice
Snacks: Apple, cream bun (400 kcal)
Dinner: Sea-buckthorn and blueberry soup with whipped cream, bun with sliced ham
Drinks: Water, coffee and skimmed milk
