I met a guy at the gym this morning.. We got to talking,, He's 22 years old, about 5'11 and 120 lbs. Very skinny. He says for the last 2 1/2 months he has been eating 6000 cals per day.. His diet is excellent. All the right proteins, carbs, etc. He eats CLEAN. He is super frustrated about his weight and says he has even lost a couple pounds since raising his calories. I even asked him if he was positive he was eating 6000 cals a day and he is positive on that.
For one thing, I told him to pick up Scrawny to Brawny, not because I've read it but some of you guys says it works wonders. He also said he only runs 1 day a week for cardio.
Now his weight training.. thats another story. He does 3 days of upper body, 2 days of lower.. and he will do a morning of lifting, say like for upper,, and in the afternoon he will do upper again. I told him that that HAS TO STOP. No twice a day workouts. He says it just makes him feel the burn more and I told him he is overtraining and that would probly preventing him from gaining as much muscle since recovery time is interrupted.
But it still blows my mind that the kid can eat 6000 calories and lose weight?! wow! Any ideas here on advice to give him?
