50 Pounds to Subaru Journal

Ahhh, yeah 500 cals for one is pretty bad. I know at this one place we have here you can buy mini ones, but I'm not sure if you can buy one mini one... I avoid that place big time! I go there maybe once a year.

OOOO, 9 days until the convention! I'm so excited for you, I think if I went to one I'd die of a heart attack! Are you gonna post a pic of you in your costume? I'd soooooo love to see the costume! You're gonna have so much fun! Try not to spend toooooo much ;)

Oh, I'll post a picture! And probably start a new journal that day as well. 50 pounds to subaru will no longer need to be my title (or my achievement... Oops!)

I am wearing some jeans I bought just before Christmas and I forgot my belt. They are falling off of me! Like to an uncomfortable level - I keep having to hike my pants up.

One of my coworkers brought berry muffins to our staff meeting. I ate two - but at least they were homemade size like cupcakes and not like monster-muffin sizes. Fitday put them each at about 150 calories. I skipped my afternoon snack for them and ate a lower calorie soup for my dinner at school.

Then, when I'm at school, one of my professors stops by our speech lab with a box full of egg rolls! Apparently one of her classes had a speech on how to make egg rolls and they had like 3 dozen left over. I ate three :-X

Fitday put each at 103 calories.

So, at 9:30 I'll be at 1289 calories. And I didn't work out this morning. But - I'm trying to work out more regularly and up my daily calories to 1400-1600 with fewer cheat days. So - I guess I'm kind of right on track. And I'm still going to work out this evening.

Still doing well!

Yum, egg rolls. I think we're having my in-laws over for chinese this Friday. It'll be bad! portion control, portion control................

Hope you're having a great day!

Portion control! Portion control is so important but I'm so bad at it.

8 days to convention <squee!>

After this convention I'm going to start work on repairing my Narcissa costume. She is the one I was wearing for all of my "fat" pictures.

I have to fix some damage that was done during the convention and <squee again!> take it in for the new me. I'll be wearing it again for Phoenix ConGames on June 14, then for Movie 5 on July 13 and Book 7 on July 21.

Just imagine how hott I'm going to look by July 21! Dang! I'll post after pictures to compare my old Narcissa to the new one.

I've discovered a new-found like of yogurt. I liked it when I was a kid then got turned off mostly because of the texture. I haven't eaten it in like 15 years. Now, I decided to give it another go, and it's delicious! And it takes forever to eat a whole serving! And Dannon Light & Fit only has 60 calories a serving! Hooray new diet food option! This may replace my standard half cup of cottage cheese breakfast.

I can't wait to see your costume! I also can't wait to see the new Narcissa one! It's awesome to see someone in the same thing, but thinner! You'll look awesome!

PS - I loves yogurt! I like to eat the Danone Silhouette Vanilla one! Then I add fruit and stuff, it's I think 45 cals per half cup... something along those lines. I have a lot of calories memorized... or at least I know the general area of the cals.. so sad.. lol.

Mmmm....mongolian BBQ tonight. I took it out and immediately divided it in half before starting to eat. Yay for me! It's hard to guess calories on something like this, but I imagine my half plate to be around 250-300. Lean meat, lots of veggies, small noodles, clear liquidy sauce, can't be too bad.

Tonight I sleep at my mothers - yikes! But she has strawberries, so there's a chance I'll be good. It also helps that I have really good snack alternatives at work now so I can have yogurt instead of a candy bar during youth group. Or maybe popcorn instead of chips. Either way, I should get to my mother's at 9:30 running at only 1100 calories or so - so I can splurge if I need to.

Hi Ashley! Trying to catch up on some reading. You are doing great with your eating habits!! I am very impressed and CONGRATS on the 174!!!!! yay!!!! You are now ahead;) lol but I will catch up again!!! :D lol I hope you are having a good Friday! Excellent job!!

I noticed you haven't been on as much as previously! I bet you're busy busy busy making your costume! I'm so excited to see it! One day, I want to go to an anime con and dress up! I almost went once but then my plans fell through, the friend I was supposed to go with (after having all details sorted out, a place to stay, everything...) said she couldn't go cause she didn't have enough money. I was so upset! I personally wouldn't make plans with other people unless I knew for sure I could do it or afford it. That's as close as I got. Ah well, maybe one day! And on that day I will be sexxy and fit! WOO! I'm so excited for ya!

Yup, i've been sewing! But I also usually don't get on much on the weekends.

I finished all of the major parts of the costume today. I just have some little details to work out, securing loose snaps, adding a hook & eye, ironing everything, etc.

Yay!

Here is the costume without the lower sleeves, wings (can't put either on myself), forehead tattoo, wig or shoes (too much trouble for this pic).

Oh, and a reference pic of the character:

Wow!! I can't believe you made that!! You look great!!! I can't wait to see the completely finished product but that looks wonderful!!! You have done so well!! Congratulations:)

I'm feeling mixed. I think I'm going to be OK with myself at the convention - there are just so many pieces of the costume itself to look at that my 2 inches of stomach can't be that devastating.

I need to get on a different sleep schedule. I plan to get up in time to work out every morning but I'm too tired. And my friends coming to work out with me hasn't been that great. They get me to go some nights I wouldn't otherwise, but we usually end up going for a walk at about 1/2 the intensity I would have otherwise done.

Then there's all the advice Steve keeps giving that keeps convicting me that my workouts are less than ideal. He posted this article quite a while ago: http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=1490871 - and it's a darned good article.

But I don't want to do weights or HIIT - because they hurt! A lot! But I think I may have peaked at what steady aerobic exercise will really do for me. It's getting harder and harder to get my heart rate up, even on the elliptical. I need to up my intensity but, <whine> I don't wanna!

There is a small mountain near my apartment I talked about recently. Maybe hitting that instead of the gym would be a better alternative for a while. It's really hard work for me, but I can do it in reasonable time. It opens in plenty of time for me to get out there and to work on time.

Then I just have to get up in time :-X

Hey hey!

I can understand how you feel about the whole weights and HIIT thing. Now I read the HIIT thing steve wrote as well, and I'm no where near ready for that. However, I do use weights 3x per week. And ya know what, it is hard, but the next day when you're moving around and you can feel it in your muscles that you did a good weight workout, it feels absolutely awesome! Sure doing cardio is great (I do cardio also) but doing the weights is just as important. Think of it in this way if anything... the more muscle you have the more calories you burn period! So if you build some muscle, you'll burn more cal's in general. And not only that, you'll get fitter and you'll look a lot better. Sure we all want to lose weight on here, but I sure as hell don't want the 'skinny-fat' look. I mean, if we're putting all this effort into losing weight, shouldn't we get the best results possible?

Now, if someone wasn't ready for weights, I wouldn't want to push it on them, however you said yourself that you may have peaked on your aerobic workouts. I don't think you have to do HIIT do get the results you want, but I definately think strength training is essential in weight loss.

You should just try it, start off light and then build up. You'll see that's it not so bad as it seems. I actually like the weights a hell of a lot more than cardio. It doesn't get boring like a long cardio session, and it definately feels like it's doing something! I don't think it hurts, but it is challenging... in a good way though! So, give it a shot, you might end up liking it. And besides, you body will look all that much better once the weight comes off!

OH!!!! I didn't see the post of the actual pic of you in your dress. You did an AWESOME job! I know I couldn't sew that for the life of me. And I think you look great in it :)

Oh and btw, in my diary I posted before and now pics (page 5... in case that changes by the time you check this next) if you want to see them :)
