50 Pounds to Subaru Journal

I just finished my peanut chicken lunch. So delicious. I took a walk down to petsmart and got a new fish for the office aquarium. That makes 3 days of walking during the lunch hour. I hope to make it a permanent habit - at least during the cool months.

Thanks for the support everybody!

This past week has gone so well for me. I'm down to 187.2, a new record low for me.

My roommate and I played DDR together for an hour last night, and I couldn't be more thrilled. She is trying to lose weight as well, but still hasn't really changed her lifestyle yet. I'm glad that she enjoys DDR so that we can be more active together.

I did the first day of the couch to 5k running program. I was so proud of myself - I was able to do it! Granted, I'm still on day 1 so they expect I just got off the couch, but I've never been able to run before and I think it would be so cool to say I can.

We have a small mountain here in phoenix called Piestewa Peak. It takes the average person 30 minutes to get to the top. A couple of years ago our office made a goal of hiking it, and it took me 3 trips to finally get up there. It takes an average person 30 minutes to get to the top, it took me an hour. It took 2 hours to get back down :-X I think I am going to make it another mini goal to get back up to the summit.

So, to recap:
Goal: 160 by 4/5/07
Mini Goals: Complete Couch-to-5k running program in 9 weeks
Climb Piestewa Peak

Sweet! and running is the best feeling. I was able to run 5.6 miles a few months ago and it was really wonderful to go that far... even though my feet hurt;) You are doing great and congrats on the 187!! I am looking forward to being under 190 on Friday's weigh day:) yay!! we rock~!

I PASSED THE HALF WAY MARK!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!! 186.2!

Now I am back down to the weight at which I have lived most of my life. I hit the mid 180s in early high school and have gone up and down around the mid 180s ever since

I am kind of disappointed that I have no idea what I weighed at my skinniest. I was in community college with no car. I walked a mile and a half to school, walked around campus all day, then walked to the bus stop, where I went to work for 6 hours standing and cleaning and such in a small game store. The weight just fled from me and next thing I knew I was buying size 12 even though I ate just as much as always. Oh if it were so easy with a desk job and a car!!!

About 3 years ago I really tried to lose weight, and made it to 173. Of course, I started at 190 or so - so I'm already doing better this time around.

I'm 10 days into back on track, and I'm hungry. Right now I have real, belly hunger and I'm trying to figure out what I am going to eat. I love that I can be actually hungry and still have the presence of mind to make thoughtful choices.

I've gotta go to work now - probably see ya'll soon.

I found a single serving of my ham & bean soup that worked out perfectly for breakfast. The beans were nice and filling, and the whole thing ended up at 120 calories.

I found a great tip in a cooking magazine to freeze soup in a muffin pan for individual servings. I didn't have a muffin pan, but I had little 6 oz pyrex containers that I used. The 6 oz is working out just great to complement a dinner salad or some other such thing. And, I don't have to worry about unfreezing all of the soup for my single serving.

Well - I officially started the costume yesterday. This month I am getting accessories done so that i don't sew the costume too big for me. Last night I got the first accessory done, a pendant the character wears. Since I said I'd be posting pictures, here they start:

yay Ashley! That is awsome! That pendent looks great too! I am impressed:) So happy for you:) *big hugs*

Thanks everybody!

Last night I slept over at my mothers and ended up snacking :-X But, I planned ahead, and ended the day at under 1600 calories. I got up this morning and did a workout video before going to work.

The biggest thing that is irking me right now is that i didn't have my scale last night so i have no idea where i am. I'm going to push hard tonight and see results tomorrow!

Oh! And this morning I noticed that when I look down I see my second roll of fat instead of my first. The first has shrunk enough for me to see the second! HOT DOG!

Love the rolls shrinking! My favorite saying is I look like a marshmellow with rubber bands around it:D he he he. yay! Do you remember Oprah when she wheeled out a wheelbarrow with huge pieces of pretend fat and each large chunk represented 5lbs? It's amazing how much each 5lbs makes a difference in your body!

about the simulated 5 lbs of fat: here is a picture of a 1 lb of fat, 5 lbs of fat, and a 20 lb body suit thing

Hey everybody -

I have mixed feelings right now. I just did 45 minutes of DDR and an hour on the elliptical,so I feel great. But this evening I ate a full two item plate at Panda Express, so I feel terrible. But, I got the Chicken & Mushrooms and Beef with Broccoli, instead of the orange chicken and sweet & sour pork I usually get, so I feel great. But the scale looks like it will be up tomorrow morning, so I feel terrible. But my calories ended in range, so I feel great.

<sigh>

very mixed indeed lol. u r not the only one. but wat matters is we'll reach our goal when we keep persevering and climb over those 'mountains'!:D
