Glad to see the 1,200cal day ( to help off-set some of the binge calories ) -

so cool to hear your Daughter is doing a duet with a Juilliard Prof- U must so proud of her

Beer, dip/,chips/salsa....not a terrible binge- U could have done a lot worse - I'm sure your fat-cells are Not multipyling after just 2 slip-days ( maybe their a bit swelled-up...but not Multiplying yet ! lol).

Hope the trip is nice - ? maybe consider some exercise ( walking? ) in the mornings - before the days get going - so U can balance-off the restaurant/food /away from home calories...:svengo:

cheers,

Maryann

Thanks! MA! Took my Daughter to Blue Coast Burrito today & I had NOTHING but a Coke Zero. Only had 1050 cals so far today. I am determined to keep my count under 1200. Yes I'm very proud of Liv. She is a good kid albeit she is a teenager & a bit moody.:driving:

:driving:Weighed this am. Right back N Saddle after 1200 cal day. I think I can make or exceed my goal for week but I will not know unless I can find a scale in Knoxville.

Spent some time reading back through the earlier posts. Very cool journey so far and best of luck with the goals.

Have you ever looked into your BMR? I started out in the 290s in January and when I looked up my BMR at the time anything under 2000 calories was too low to sustain.

Thanks FG! Have looked @ BMR but don't pay much attention 2 it. Rotation has always worked for me. It is sticking to healthy eating & exercise habits that has been my pitfall.

Looked @ BMI.Need 2B just under 200 lbs 2B @ healthy. Got a long way to go & short time to get there so have to keep the calorie intake down. :auto:

I am a fan of BMR but I'm with you on the BMI. Anytime my daily calorie intake fell below my BMR this year, I found myself hungry, irritable (and starting to lose lean body mass)

I place very little stock in the BMI number as it's meant to measure populations instead of people. The last time I was under 200lbs I had sunken checkbones and looked sick which still put me on the high end of a normal BMI.

Healthy eating and good exercise is definitely the way to go. Amazing how much better you feel when you get those two rules down.

Thanks MA! Knoxville's hilly & Concert Hall is up on a hill right next to that Monster Football Stadium so I got a whole lot of stair stepping in. Liv did a duet with a professor from New York City, who regularly performs with the String Orchestra of New York City, and has performed with Yo-Yo Ma. The leader of the Orchestra was Hillary Herndon who has performed with Itzhak Perlman among others. Liv who is always too hard on herself said, "I sucked," but she sounded GREAT to me and the professors thought she was "excellent."

I don't if you've ever tried to play a violin or viola, but to me those instruments :nopity: are almost impossible for me to play and I can play at least half a dozen instruments, at least half-way decently.

I've doing ok. I got off track last fall and gained back about 15 pounds, but I'm back now and determined to take off 60 or so more.

Binged a bit on Saturday. Wife & me had Texas Roadhouse Grilled Chicken for lunch and I only ate 1 peanut, but then while Liv was rehearsing I went to the Half Barrel to watch football and had 3 Lite Beers. Then we picked Liv up and it was too late to go back to the Resort and have a 220 Cal Healthy Choice so we asked Liv where she wanted to eat and, of course, she said, "Texas Roadhouse. So we went back there & I had another Lite Beer a handful of peanuts, a couple of rolls and a Steak Kabob. :)

Hey Free - glad 2 hear U got some stair-stepping in ( balanced off the beers eh ?) ...lol ( & at least they were light-beer- good choice again ! ).:beerchug:

- exciting for your daughter to have performed with the prof. - whos' performed with YoYoMa - amazing - I've never tried any string instrument - only key-board...and been' a few years now - so applause to your gal on her talent -

- sounds like you all had a very nice time - and good-work to U on keeping the "food treats" reasonable...( I didn't see any mention of french-fries in the posts) - so sounds like , all considered , U staYed pretty balanced with food choices.

Keep up the Good work , on your way to 50lbs. GONE ! ....it's a journey - Not a race - and you are marching - forward ho !

Cheers,
Maryann.

Keyboards are great instrument! U can make them sound like anything. I even found a decent sounding sax sample which saves me the trouble of keeping my lips in shape to play sax. I piddle on piano. Liv has been playing for 11 years now. She says she sucks on piano too.:nopity:

Didn't gain weight in Knoxville despite the binging. Guess it was all the stair stepping and hill climbing.

:driving:

Oddly even I usually don't gain when I go on trips 2 the Smokies, NYC or New Orleans because I do a lot of walking. LA is another story.

We've 3 wks of timeshare @ Quarter House N New Orleans. I love walking through the French Quarter listening to Jazz & Blues. We usually go to Gatlinburg once or twice a year and stay at Gatlinburg Town Square which is right in the center of Gatlinburg so I get a lot of hill walking in there which allows me to get away with binging a bit.
