302 ---> 220. Guys, It can be Done!!!!

First, I would like to thank everyone for the kind words. It is great to see such a supportive community as we have here.

Second I would like to answer this question:

Could you post your schedule for your weight training routine ie. what things you did and how many times and one what days?

Ok my workout routine is pretty standard.

its as simple as lifting and cardio at least 4x per week.

-when i was really cutting the big weight in the beginning, it was a very strict diet combined with regular cardio (not so much weight training in the beginning).

My advice, would be to do a solid routine of weight lifting combined with a LOT of cardio, in conjunction with of course a very healthy diet.

Here is what i usually do:

DAILY:
------------

15-20 mins of hard cardio in the morning and nothign else until my session later. (i suggest running, or stairstepper at varying intensity levels. You should be winded severey at the end of the 15 minutes)

LATER LIFT / CARDIO
-pick a muscle group (like chest and triceps)
-experiment with weights that will enable you to start with maxing out at 12 reps, then 10 for the next set, then 8 for the next set, and 6 for the last. SO, you will be inccreasing weight obviously.

-try a bunch of diferent excercises for that muscle group (look online for a good workout routine)

-then after you have exhausted your muscles, go and hit that treadmill. 20-30mins at least! And you need to be exhausting yourself!!! 30 mins of half intensity cardio is weaksauce and will not yield the type of results you want.
---------------

REPEAT for 4x per week with differnt muscle groups.

and, like I stated before, your diet HAS to be on point. no cheating during the week unless you want cheaters results.

after you get used to a routine, you also need to switch it up because your muscles will get used to that same movement.

I suggest Bodybuilding.com - The Future Of Bodybuilding! Huge Bodybuilding Site. for a lot of good info

Keep it up guys!!! (and gals!)

-Bryan

Bryan,

This is the first time I've felt compelled to post here and I just wanted to say you are my inspiration bro!

You and I had almost identical starting stats (I'm 6'2 and was 304 pounds). I'm now down to about 267 but I've been discouraged lately. Seeing your post has really helped me.

Thanks man and keep up the good work!

Hey there!
First off, Great work with the 34 lbs! That is a big step - and it is obvious that you are motivated to move some weight!

Ok, here is a recipe for fast weight loss - diet wise:

This is ALL I ATE for the 4 mos...

-salad (prepackaged in the dole bags or whatever) try to get spinach (its darker and better for you)
-fat free cottage cheese. TONS
-LOW LOW LOW fat lunch meat. Best is HAM. Buy it in bulk.
-APPLES. Fuji is my favorite
-Egg whites. You can boil them yourself to save money!
-Fat free shredded cheese if i wanted it on my salad
-TUNA!!!
-canned veggies all the time. Green beans are cheap. Carrots are good. Spinach is great. (i used to eat it right out of the can)
-I would season my salads so they tasted good with pepper, HOT SAUCE, mustard, anything really.
-Some dried fruit on salad sometimes in moderation
fat free salad dressing only.

And honestly, the best secret of all.........

COFFEEEEEE!!!! i filled up on coffe all the time. The caffeine, although maybe not the best for you, will speed up your metabolism and burn your fat away. Not the safest, but it works.

-the diet was essentially a modified atkins. I steered clear of carbs big time.

This combined with playing basketball lost me 80 lbs in 4 months.

** again, maybe not the healthiest, but i was only eating ~1200 calories a day. Also, i worked at a job where i was on my feet a lot. The fat just melted away honestly.

NOW GO LOSE THAT WEIGHT!!!

just another pic for motivational purposes.

Sorry i have an emo/myspace douche-tastic look about me- im not like that really haha !

I was wondering if you had any issues with loose skin? Ilost 70 already but don't have any at all and wondered at what weight you see it?

Hey Bry,

How old were you when you took that before photo and how much do you weigh and how old are you in the newest photo.

p.s. great job youve done, massive transformation. keep it up.

i know this is a very strange compliment...but you look alot nicer after you lost weight. You looked kind of tough/mean in the 'before' pictures. Usually it's the opposite? Anyways, you look great. congrats

bump for old times sake! Update:

I have since gotten married, had back surgery (herniated l4-l5), had a son, and am finally back to working out 4-5 times per week. Weight fluctuated up to 255, now I am back down to 242. Too much good food and beer combined with back injury.

I will soon be back down to 220 and stronger than ever!

My congratulation on weight loss and best of luck for last 20 pounds.

so sorry about harnia.

i have a question for you.

I am 20 KG overweight than my ideal. thrice lost it for my wife and marriage then got it back.

she left me anyway so doing it one last time for ME.

I have a broken cartilage in knee. Interval training in 100KG kills the side of my knee (with knee suporter).

now i am down with weight.

i train my muscle in isolate.

Here is my question (and thanks for reading till), should i go low weight high rep like 20-25 OR High weight and medium rep like 10 to 12.

i mean what is that you did?

dont find much people who is into weights here.

Thanks
