24lbs - My 11 Week Goal

Great job on hitting the gym and ignoring your self lol 9 that kinds sounds bad lol) I would go after work lol sleeping in is nice( not that I get to ever lol). Keep it up girl you rock!
 
I did it again! I finished work and went straight to the gym. I had to work a bit later than planned, so I didn't get to the gym till 9pm. I did an intense leg work out and switched between exercises very quickly to keep my heart rate up.. Whole workout took almost an hour.

I weighed myself this morning...148.8lbs!!...for 1/2 a second then the scale jumped up to 149lbs...lol, it was like the scale was teasing me....oh well, soon it will be lower than 148lbs and I'll be the one laughing!

I'm looking forward to Sunday - Sunday is the day i take my measurements! This will be the 3rd measurement taking! I'm excited to find out how many inches I've lost so far! Unfortunatly I'll be going off memory since my inch/weight log is on my fitday program on my broken computer....oh well.
 
I congrats you for going after work. For me, that's about the hardest thing to do! I'm always so tired after work that it's hard to make myself workout. So good on ya for that!

I thought of doing that actually - then I decided I should blow it up with fire crackers!!!! I haven't actually blown it up yet - but its time will come! After I go to Sask and get some fire crackers - or get a fire permit and buy some here (you need a fire permit in Alberta to buy them..easy to get though).

I weighed myself this morning and it was 148.4lbs!!!!! I weighed myself 4 times to make sure it was right and every time was 148.4lbs...

I don't work today (love days off!). I'm probably going to go to the gym later this morning for some cardio. It's a cardio day - so I might just go for a walk (if I can convince my fiancée to come with me...lol). When I go for walks I like to go to the River Valley and walk along the river, but i's near downtown Edmonton and there is lots of bums and stuff sometimes so I like to take someone with me so I can go into the area that's dense with trees)
 
WOW 148.... I can't wait for that day! lol Though at this pount I'd be happy to see the 170's. Good job on all your weight loss so far!
 
Today is terrible - well the last couple days kinda have been actually.

I'll start with a little history.

Ever since my computer broke I haven't been really tracking what I eat (except in my head) - I'm not binging on junk food or anything per-say, but I think I might be eating more than I should, plus I have eaten somethings and then remembered after I ate it that I already ate something unhealthy that day so then I end up eating more than I should.

I ended up drinking the last couple days . On Saturday I had a bottle of wine (not the whole thing myself though..lol). But none the less, that was a lot of calories I didn't need. THEN yesterday, I went out to a restaurant and had some beer...a rich red ale probably 1 billion calories!!! I haven't drank or gone to a restaurant in over 2 months and I use to drink regularly and eat restaurant food all the time so a minor slip up isn't that bad I guess.

Yesterday I went top the gym when i was done work (before the beer of course..lol) and my work was crap. I did about 20 min on the elliptical (215calories burned - I could have stayed on longer, I wasn't tired or anything but I was just wanted to move the workout along and go home) and then I worked my chest, back and core. I was generally not in a good mood so it was hard to stay motivated and enjoy the workout. I ended up only doing 2 sets of 15-20 reps of the chest exercises I planned on doing instead of 3 sets of each and for back exercises I ended up only doing 3 sets of 8-10 reps at a heavier weight. (instead of 15-20 reps). Core workout was just ok.

This morning I woke up and was going to take my measurements - it was going to be an exciting day- but I don't know if I am going to now. I weighed myself and it said 151.4!!!!! WTF!!! 2 days ago I was 3lbs less! I just got my period so HOPEFULLY that's where the weight came from temporary.... that's probably also why I am in a shitty mood.

Oh well - I've bitched enough and laid out a bunch of problems. Now I'm going to be productive and list my solutions for all these problems.

1. I need to get on track keeps tack of what I eat - starting today I will use Fitday online regularly (even though it's slow compared to the program). I'm also going to have to re-add all my custom foods (that's going to take some time since I had around 40 custom foods..oh well)

2. No more drinking for a while!!! I splurged and now I must resist. The occasional drink is OK, but not right now.....it is my fiances b-day of Friday - so I might get a bottle of wine for supper that night - but that'll be it!

3. I think everyone has shitty days at the gym. So I'm just going to let that shitty workout pass by and I am going to stop thinking about it. If it becomes a trend then I'll get concerned. But I know that won't happen.

4. To make myself feel better I'm blaming the weight gain on my period. ...could be - I've gotten pretty bloated around that time of the month before - so I doubt it's unlikely. I don't think it's possible to gain 3lbs of fat in 2 days while exercising still. But 3lbs of water - probably.....grrr. At least my clothes still fit! That being said - I'm going to wait till NEXT Sunday to take my measurements - that way if I am bloated at all right now it won't effect the measurements.... (I'll take the measurements once the scale goes BACK to 148.4 or less)
 
Hey, just wanted to let you know that your shitty days are way better than mine! I mean if you only go to the restaurant once every month or two, that's awesome! My hubby and I struggle to keep it down to once per week!

About the alochol, I rarely drink either, so if you rarely drink too, that won't kill ya!

As for the crappy workout, everyone has those days for sure. You should be happy that you went though! My shitty days tend for me to just not work out at all (which I did twice this week... or was it three times, I know, horrible!)

So as far as I'm concerend, your crappy day or two isn't too bad! Of course you feel bad because it's not as good as you usually would do, but hey, you still put effort and that's what's important. Can't be perfect all the time and it's a learning experience. Good job on coming up with solutions at the end of your post though! I think that's awesome.
 
Hello, you just need to remeber we all have really bad days and eat/drink what we know we shouldn't but you also have to treat yourself once and a while so don't beat yourself up. As for the gym at least you went and did something that was better then just going home and watching tv. You are still doing great. :)
 
I read that your period could add up to 5lb to your body weight, so keep on blaming theme. As for the bad day it's over and done with can't change the past time to move on. You have a good plan going!!!!!!Keep it up!

GOOD!!! That is TOTALLY what I am going to blame it on! Makes sence! Couldn't be a worst time to gain a few extra pounds...lol, already cranky enough...nothing like wanting to throw the scale out the window to top it off...lol

Today was the start of a new week - this is day 1 again, clean slate.

I went to the gym when i was done work and busted my ass on the elliptical. I tried the whole thing going backwards (thanks Risty :) . I did intervals at a really high intensity - it was quite the workout. According tot he machine during the very intense times I was burning 14-15.5 calories per min. The rest of the time i was burning 10-12 calories per min. Overall it was roughly 450 calories burned.

I then followed it with intense shoulder, bicep, triceps workouts (about 45min). I did most of the workouts using the cable machine and barbells for my workouts. My arms felt bigger when I was done :). I like that after workout pumped feeling your muscles get.

I also found a program similar (pretty much exactly the same) to Fitday that will work on Linux. They make it for Windows, Mac OS and Linux. It's call Diet Controller. I'm trying out the 10 day trial to see how I like it. So far I like it alot. Fitday's webiste is great to use - but it's sooo slow to load and edit etc. compared to an actual program.

Tomorrow is a cardio day. I'm not sure if I'll be going to the gym before work or working out at home. I can't go after work simply because i wouldn't be getting to the gym till almost 9pm and I have to work at 8am the next day - I'd be too tired.

Well today's not a total write off.

I didn't go to the gym or workout at home today - I had some seriously bad cramps and now I have to leave for work in 30min... I wouldn't have been productive at the gym at all today. I went hard yesterday so i don't feel bad.

I finally figured out how to get FItDay to work on my Linux operating system! So now I can track my calories easily and I was able to restore my backup file so I have all my measurements and everything again! No more slacking on my diet! (using a program like fitday makes life SOOOO much eaiser) - (the program is a little glitchy - but I expected to happen - I'm using a program to run the program...lol)
 
Good job on getting fitday to work! It's too bad you don't have an Iphone or something like it because there's apps like that and I found a good one. I was using it consistently for a long time just because your phone is always there and handy. I've been lazy lately though... Heh...

Cool. I saw one that works on my phone but it looks like it would be annoying to use, and the keys on my phone are kinda a pain in the ass, and since it wasn't free, I didn't bother. If I had an iphone I would totally get the one you have. You should keep using it! i find that carefully monitoring my calories making it easy to not over eat and it makes me somehow have less cravings....it's weird.

I just added up everything I ate today and I thought that for sure I had eaten way more calories then I thought I should have. I was sure that I had eaten more than 2000 calories - I had 2 granola bars throughout the day, 2 pieces of toast, some chicken, french dressing, hamburger patty, asparagus, sautéed garlic mushrooms, 2% fat cottage cheese, 1-2 tbsp margarine, spinach, cucumber . It turns out all of that is only just over 1300 calories. THAT"S great. I'm not hungry at all and I don't feel bad about the granola bars.

I try to eat between 1100-1800 calories per day. If I average out 1 week - I want the average for a week to be 1500 calories per day. I've read that switching up your calories alot from day to day stops your body getting use to it and it stops your body from thinking it's starving (because it's not a daily low calorie diet). This will help prevent plateauing and keeps the weight coming off... from my understanding....it seems to work, and I never feel hungry and if I eat too many calories I can make it up the next day because I know I have a week to make it balance. (I don't use this as a binge one junk food ticket though - it only works with sensibly healthy eating and only occasion treats of a healthier kind.)

I think 1100 cals are a bit low. They say women should never go below 1200 calories. So just maybe try to make your minimum 1200. You don't want to be doing anything negative to your body!
