24lbs - My 11 Week Goal

Wow - life has been busy - well not really, but to busy to give me much time here!

I'm still on track and everything is going well. My weight for today was 152.2 - it's been hovering around 152 for a few days now - it's quite frustrating.....but I guess it wasn't that long ago that I was stuck in the 154's complaining - and I am less now...lol

I tried on some dress pants that I had got 4 years ago about 2 weeks ago(I stopped wearing them almost 3 years ago because they didn't fit anymore) and they fit - almost - I wzs able to do them up (I had to suck in..lol) - once they were done up they were TIGHT = to tight for public! The seams would probably burst if I had lept wearing them.

I tried on those SAME pants yesterday and they fit perfect in the waist - no muffin top or circulation cut off. BUT they are still a little to tight in the butt (looks like they are rising my ass) - so they still aren't ready for public - BUT if I keep getting the results I'm getting (which I plan on) then they should fit PERFECT and another 2 weeks.

I also tried on a Point Zero jean skirt and it fits again (when my butt shrinks it'll fit even BETTER).

I am finding it frustrating that the scale isn't moving fast - but I know it's unrealistic to expect results like that - that being said - I am ALOT stronger - I had a session with my personal trainer on tues and she asked how many push ups I could do - last year I could do ZERO, last month I could do 5, on Tuesday when she had me do pushups -I was suddenly at 10 and I couldn't believe I was STILL doing more - I made it up to 25 push ups, and I'm talking about REAL pushups on your toes NOT Knees.

I then was doing 1 arm dumbell row's and I had been using the 15lb weight - my trainer made me grab the 35lb! weight -I didn't think it was going to happen - but I DID IT! I was able to do 8 reps with the 35lb weight - I had under estimated what I could lift.

So the moral of my story today is - even though the scale isn't moving as fast as I would like - there are results happening - positive results, which I am happy about.

Who knows, maybe the scale is moving slow because I'm adding muscle as the fat comes off so the scale isn't going to reflect much of a change very quickly.

Congrats on all your progress! Even though the scale is moving slowly for you the most important thing is your fitness! You've improved so much it's unbelievable. Also, you're clothes are just fitting better and better as the weeks go on. So try not to focus on the scale but focus on all your accomplishments and keep doing what your doing - the scalle will follow! Awesome job!

Last night I started a cleanse program (CleanseSmart). I bought it almost 2 years ago but only took it for a couple days because my diet was crap and I was drinking a fair amount (alcohol) so there was no point in cleanse at that point in my life and I couldn't seem to get it on track...:willy_nilly:

I dug I out last night though and it's still good (best before 2011), so I started last night with the PM pill and took the AM pills this morning.

My diet is good now, I stopped drinking, and I exercise regulary, it's supose to be a 30 day cleanse - but I think I probably have only 25 days worth of pills ---- good enough.

I got another burst of self motivation :hurray: . I was feeling discouraged because there was only roughly 5 weeks left till my goal date and I was feeling like I wasn't even going to come close to my goal...but then I started thinking...the goal duration was only 11 weeks, so I'm just over 1/2 way though and the results so far have been great!...and that was ONLY in 6 weeks that I go tthe results that I have - SO 5 weeks could be LOTS of time to get some more awesome results - I'm just fine tweeking my regimine though - I'm trying to do cardio 6 days a week and weights 4 times per week.

Yesterday @ the gym I did 40min of cardio on the eliptical - I had it set to interval - I would do 2 minutes at very high intensity and then 2 minutes at a medium intensity - and I did that for the whole workout. After I was done that I worked my bicepes, tricepes, and shoulders (45min). I was forced to push myself because there was this girl at the gym that had the 10, 12 and 15 lbs weights all at her feet - she wasn't even really doing anything - except sitting and staring at herself in the mirror...oh well - it forced me to use the 20, 22 and 25lb weights - it was awesome. I was using the 20lb for my shoulder presses....it was hard - but that's the point!

I have a session with my trainer tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. Tomorrow is a leg day for me and I'm going to get her to show me some new workouts.

I think that's the best way to think! I'm glad you went from thinking negative into thinking positive. You've come so far in this short amount of time that I know you'll do great during the remainder of your 5 weeks!

Your workout sounds awesome! I just did my chest, shoulders and triceps yestersday. However, I definitely didn't do it at that heavy of weights! My arms are majorly week! Not only that though, on the DVD that I'm doing (part of the P90X program) you're doing a lot of pushups and that just kills my arm strength. So normally I could do heavier weights if I wasn't doing pushups but due to having to do both... I had to decrease the weights, lol.
I really like how you did intervals on the elliptical, I think it's much more effective than doing one intesity the whole time.

Do you ever go backwards on the elliptical? I started doing that just to break up the time and going backwards does work different muscles (I could feel it, lol). So I was doing 5 mins forward, 1 min backward and doing that for the full 30-60 mins.

Anyways, great job! You're doing awesome :D

Backwards??? I never even thought of doing that - I can't even think how that would work...I am DEFINATLY going to try that tomorrow! I hear the P90X program is pretty awesome - are you liking it?

Yestersay I had a session with my trainer and I got a really great butt workout - I was going deeper into my squats so it made it more benficial - I'm always so worried about my knees and back getting hurt - my trainer said I work to much and that I shouldn't worry about something that doesn't hurt - if it hurts then tone it down - so now I'm going to keep that in mind when I'm at the gym,

Today when i weighed myseld the scale said 150.2!!!!! I also had these cargo pants on that I bought in decemeber and they are WAY to big in the waist - my ass and thighs are still the biggest part of me - BUT eventually that fat too will HAVE to go away (when there is no other fat maybe)..lol

I'm looking forward to seeing my results when I measure my self on March 7!

Yeah I didn't know about going backwards either until I saw people doing it at the gym. The only thing with that is you're going forward fast you have to slow it down a little to stop the momentum so you can start going backwards. When I do my backwards stent I tend to do it really fast. So it's like intervals! lol

I can't wait until I'm down to your weight *dreams*... lol. Man I'm struggling just to try to get out of the high 180's, lol. Damn weight!

Good job on everything so far!

Hey there :)

I have been readingyour diary and you sound like you have been doing great! :) We are about the same height, but I let myself get all the way up to 170! :( I am finally down to 165.2, and can't wait until I get down to where you are! Good luck on your weight loss, and I'll come check in on your progress to cheer you on! Keep it up :D

You will lose the weight - time and patience is all you need (and sensible diet and exercise of course!). My heaviest weight was much higher then 170lbs - that was when I was 17 or 18 - I lost the weight and made it to 135lbs when I was 21-22...but I started drinking more beer, eating insane amounts of junk food and really didn't do any exercise...and then all of a sudden I was 164! - but I'm not going to let THAT happen again - and neither will YOU when the weight come off!

Today when I got up and weighed myself I was pleasently greeted with the scale NOT being in the 150's anymore ...that's right...I'm into the 140's! TO be exact - 149.4lbs...only 9ish lbs to go - and I have about a month to do it!

Stomach is flat and bicepes are big....still a layer of fat on everything...but in time it too will disappear!

At the gym yesterday I was doing reverse rows using the 35lbs dumbbell - and I could make it to 10-11 reps....last time I tried with that weight I could JUST get to 8 reps and that was a struggle....I love getting stronger! Everytime I go to the gym now I can't wait to see how much MORE I can lift!

My workout days have changed a bit - I got to the gym Monday-Friday and do intense cardio all 5 days and weight lifting monday wed and fri. Core workout I try to do all 5 days.

For the last few weeks I've had to close on Saturdays at work, which means I work at noon - and I like to sleep till 9 on saturdays, so I just feel to rushed if I go to the gym....occasionally I'll go after work..but sometimes I'm not done till 7pm-8pm - but the gym near my work closes at 8pm on saturdays and sundays (24hrs mon-fri). I COULD drive to the West Edmonton Mall location - but that's pretty far. SUndays I always take off.

Only working out 5 days a week instead of 6 hasn't had a negative effect on my success though. I think the key is to make up for the 2 days off during the 5 days on.

On another note - thinking back to when I first started and before - I'm alot happier now and I don't get depressed or stressed out as often! My fiance said to me months ago that exercising would make me happier and feel better, I was skeptical, but now that I'm 2 months in - I can really notice an improvement in my mood. Even a co-worker commented the other day that I seem more energetic and happier!

Glad you are feeling happier! I remeber back in the day how mad you were about the weight and so not happy...Glad that has changed for you. Happier withmyself is where I want to be to. Man by the time I see you I won't even be able to recognize you!

Well - Today has been one of the crappiest days EVER.

I woke up this morning absolutely stressed out, with a stomach ache and I was generally not well. I ended up calling in sick at work which I felt bad for (an trust me when I called in they mad me feel bad) but I couldn't go in.

I went back to bed.

Then when I got up I went over to my computer (I had forgot to turn it off last night), and when I moved the mouse to wake it up - it was unresponsive and the montior had no signal - so I turned if off with the power button and back on - nothing. THis happened once before and it was the video card so I took it all apart and cleaned it put it back to gether and turned it on and it turned on - GREAT - turned it off. Plugged in the rest of my stuff - usb cables network etc... turned it back on = DEAD - no signal nothing - took out video card to use on board video - nothing.

Now I am using my old computer that I built in Collage 8 years ago. GRRRRR - I got the other computer to replace this one - and yet the one I built outlasted everything else - really pissed me off. Oh well and least I have something.

ANYWAY - that was WAY off topic - sorry about that - I'm just sooo pissed off. Now on top of all that I ended up not going to the gym today or working out at all, I rebooked my training session for today and I am SUPPOSE to go to a mandatory staff meeting tonight - which I don't know if I can make because I'm still feeling like crap...arg - I don't know what to do.

I do know one thing though - I MUST go to the gym tomorrow and stop feeling sorry for my self for having such a shitty day.

That sucks! Work should not make you feel guilty about calling in sick. If you don't feel well, you shouldn't be there and if they don't understand that then it's their problem. I'm glad about working in the hospital because when you call in sick you call a scheduling office and they just say ok. You don't have to talk to whoever you would be working with, so that makes it a lot easier! Though I still feel bad depending on where I work and how busy I know it may be and hope that they find someone to replace me. But hey, if you're sick, you're sick!

I hope you're feeling better soon! I also hope you'll be able to fix or get your computer fixed. You're right though, at least you have something to use in the meantime.

Sorry to hear that you were not feeling good. Can't beleive that they made you feel bad for calling in sick. What a bunch of dopes!... Dont worry about the gym it will be there another day you just need to worry about feeling better!!

Wow you still have that thing! Well just goes to show that you knew what you were doing when you made it!

Hope you feel better!! :)

Well - it all seems to be falling apart.

Am I being dramatic - probably :cuss:

Lets start with the positive:

**I went to the gym yesterday and had a fantastic workout. I worked my biceps triceps and shoulders and I am feeling it today. I also did 30 min of cardio.
**I generally at well, I don't think I went crazy on the calories. (I'll explain why I'm not 100% sure in a bit).
**I got some decafe swiss almond chocolate coffee, so at night (or when I've maxed out my caffeine intake :angelsad2: )I can still enjoy my java - I love coffee.
**The other day was wearing my favorite jeans and realized they don't look very flattering anymore - when I bought them they were my tight jeans - and one point I stopped wearing them due to dreaded 'muffin top'. But now - they are my loose jeans :coolgleamA: I'm constantly pulling them up when i wear them.

Here's the not so positive stuff:

**I woke up today and really don't feel like going to the gym. I have to work at 1:30pm and I feel rushed already even though it's only10am. I could do turbo jam here but it really is a pain in the ass because my living room is small and I have to drag furniture out of the way and even then my space is limited and right now I can't stand the though of having to listen to the annoying music that goes with Turbo Jam - 1 time I tried turning off the sound and playing a CD of my choice. It didn't work so good. I didn't know when they were switching moves I had to base it on memory and I kept screwing up and having to stop and start alot. It was very frustrating.

I like the idea of turbo jam, but after doing it a couple times a week for the last 2 months I have began to dislike it. I like the workout but I find the DVD (people and music) annoying now.

I AM going to take my gym stuff to work tonight and when I am done work @ 8pm-9pm I and really going to try HARD to drag my ass to the gym for some cardio.

**I no longer have FitDay to use to track my calories...well to be exact I now have to use fitday online. I use to have the program, but it's on my other (broken) computer...but even if I had it, this computer is running on 'Simply Mepis 8.0' which is a Linux operating system. I just installed it last night (windows that was on here was no good), I'm told I can get a windows emulator and still run Fitday - but right now I'm still trying to figure out how to do ANYTHING :ack2: with this operating system.

** I weighed myself this morning. 150lbs. Up a little from the 149ish, but not that bad. I was hoping for a bigger loss then that, but the weekend was a diet of a diet breaker - as in I ate WAY more junk then I should have. Oh well, I'm back on track today. (and yesterday was good too)

I agree, that's one thing with at home dvd's, you tend to get sick of them because it's the same thing over and over again. That's why I like P90X, it's a system of I think 11 or 12 dvd's, so there's lots of variety. There's a specific program to go along with it (actually 3 different versions depending on your goals and/or fitness level). Also, if you don't like the music, there's always the option to turn of just the music, just the voices or both! So with the kenpo one I turned off the music and put my own (I wanted something more upbeat to go with the punches and kicks!). The best thing about the program is that you're never repeating the same dvd more than once in a week (except the rest week which you do core synergistics twice and yoga twice)... but for the majority of the program you do a different dvd each day of the week and that helps you from getting bored. Not only that, but it's an awesome workout at the same time, definitely gets you working hard.

Ok, so that was my P90X rant. lol... If it's something that appeals to you, definitely check it out! Oh and to do it you don't need a lot of equipment either (floor mat, free weights, resistance band (for the chin ups if you can't do chin ups, which you will also need a resistance band door anchor which costs a couple dollars) if you can do chin ups then you can get the doorway chin up thingy and that's it). They suggest a heart rate monitor, but it's not necessary and I don't have one.

On the note of your jeans, I'm jealous! It's awesome they're not your tight jeans anymore! Mine are starting to become that way, so I can't wait until they get too big to the point I need a smaller size!

That's how ALL at home work out videos should be!! It's sounds like P90X is really keeping you motivated. I'm going to check! :coolgleamA:

I went to the gym today after work like I told myself I would. There was a moment around 7pm that I though about skipping the gym - but I ignored myself.

When I arrived at the gym I was surprised by the number of people that were there! (8:30pm). I always go to the gym at some point usually around 3-4pm or early (9-10am) depending on my work shift. I was glad to see a lot of other people working out it made it feel 'right' being there. (I'm sure that just sounds crazy - but I don't really know how to explain it). I finished 35min on the Eliptical on Interval and (according to the eliptical) burned 400 calories.

Tomorrow I close again at work (start @ 1:30). I haven't decided if I will go to the gym in the morning before work or after work like today. Tomorrow is a leg workout day (and of course I try to do cardio everyday). I'm hesitant going after work because i really like just going home after work and doing it in the morning just gets it out of the way......but if I do it after work I can sleep in longer, and since Friday is my day off.... I guess I'll see how I feel in the morning.

Hey good job keep the workouts going!!!! I just read about your work giving you attitude for being sick, kind of made me laugh since I missed work on tuesday and now my boss totally ignores me, I say good morning when he comes in the door and he just walk by no replying, the other VP ask me what was his problem. i just wanted to let you know you are not alone!!!!
