130lb Journey Down the Scale

Hi all.

Well I was right a few weeks ago, I did gain about 5kg, I was at 135.2kg, and as of yesterday I'm back to 132.6kg, so not a long way off of where I was. I've been sick the last few days and haven't been eating much, which I'm sure has contributed to my loss, but hey, at the moment I'll take anything!

I made up a little calendar and have decided to make little goals each week that I can tick off each day on the calendar. Last week it was simply to track my calories, this week it is to stick to my calories and track them. At the end of 28 days if I have ticked off every day then I will get a reward. My first reward is a cut and colour of my hair which I'm super excited about - definitely good motivation for me at the moment.

Things in life are going ok. I didn't end up finding another job, so I'm going back to uni and will graduate at the end of the year :) I'm also undertaking a short course in Occupation Health and Safety which I'm excited about doing, but it just means that I'm going to be super super busy for the first 6 months of this year!

Hope all is well.
Lisa.

Hey Lisa, at least you did get back on the wagon and didn't let all that stuff bring you down!
I think your reward system sounds great, I might whizz one up myself :) if you don't mind me stealing your idea!
I did an OH and S course back in the day, definitely good to have on your resume.
Keep your head held high dude, that company doesn't know what it's missing :Angel_anim:

Look forward to your next update,

Jess

Hi everyone,

Things with me have been going alright. Not completely on the wagon, but got a hand on there. I've managed to maintain at about 132.5kg. I've just started the Optislim Life program, which I'm super excited about. I'm allowed 1200 calories a day, which is seriously not much, I feel like I'm eating next to nothing! I went over on my first day, but I figure that if I just keep going then a little blip on the radar won't mean anything. I'm hoping that the first week will find me back in the 120's... that'd be sooo nice!

I'm really enjoying the shakes, they're a lot better than last time, the flavours are SO much nicer and it's much less... gloopy. Lol.

Hope everyone is awesome. Sorry I don't come in and post much, I've been extremely busy with studying, things have just been crazy! I got a job interview, and I'm hoping to hear back in the next few days. It's only 8 hours a week, which fits in perfectly with my study!

Lisa.

Ok, so my first week didn't go according to plan, but I still lost 700g (1.5lb)!!! Yay! I'm hoping that this week I will stick to the plan and I will be back in the 120s again. I've exercised once this week, I'm planning to do another 3 sessions, but 3 hours overall in the week. Tomorrow morning is my first aquarobics class! YAY!

Just did my first aquarobics class (1 hour long) and it was heaps of fun! I'm definitely going back next week! Only an hour and a half left of exercise to do this week!

I started the Scarsdale diet yesterday, and so far have lost 1.7kg (probably just water weight). I started at 135.2kg (my highest ever weight) and I'm down to 133.5kg. Woop! :hurray:

The diet is a bit hard to follow coz it's so strict, but I'm finding it easier to just eat what I'm told as opposed to having to think about it. I think that's where I get into trouble, when I have so many options and I have to think about food - then I start to get cravings for some kind of high fat food and I fall off the wagon. I figure this diet is only for two weeks, then I'll probably start with the meal replacement shakes again twice a day, mixed with lots of health fruits and vegetables and lean protein for dinner... possibly with some carbs mixed in somewhere, but very little.

I was considering doing the Dukan Diet, but it's so much more restrictive with no fruits involved at all until I reach my goal weight. I just don't think that could be healthy for you!

I lost another 1.2kg this morning - probably more water weight but meh! I feel really good and motivated having lost 2.9kg already. I'm going to the gym today for a small workout of walking, weights and cycling. Very excited about that!

Thanks trus! I wish I knew if it was water weight or not. I just hope I'm not losing muscle. I didn't end up going to the gym, but I'm going to do a bit of weight stuff at home.

It is highly unlikely to be muscle at the speed you have lost it so don't worry to much especially as you are including weights in your routine, You won't gain muscle size while your loosing weight but the weight training helps to maintain what you already have.

You sound like you're on track. Like everyone says, a loss is a loss! As long as you're eating enough calories, you shouldn't be losing muscle.
I wish I could lose muscle on my legs. My calves are solid muscle. Yuck. My boyfriend loves them, though. Lol

"Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est."

Lol Ninja, the calfs might have some fat on them that will probably come off as you keep losing. Mine feel like solid muscle too! My thighs are big and bulky, I'm sure I won't ever be slim there!

I lost another 600g today! Brings my total weight lost up to 3.5kg (about 7lb)!

Lost another 300g this morning! YAY! I'm going to wait until Saturday to weigh in again because I'm afraid of seeing any gains (even if they are just water weight) lol.

Ok, I couldnt help but weigh myself again this morning coz I felt thinner, and I didn't lose anything. I have a feeling that its coz I'm not drinking enough water though. I'm eating the right amount of calories, never ever over what I'm supposed to be eating, and usually around 1000 - 1600 a day. I'm supposed to be eating around 2000. And I'm never hungry these days either, with so much protein in my diet I think that's to be expected. I will up my water today, and tomorrow I'm going to start a challenge with a friend to work out every day for 2 weeks straight, which is going to kill me, but I think it will help a lot!

Hey aussiegal! Damn, look at all those kilos you are SHAKING off so seamlessly! LUCKY YOU!

It IS really important to drink enough water to stay hydrated, apparently, if you are thirsty, that means you're body has been thirsty for like while now! almost an hour!

Remember, diet is like more than half the equation to lose weight, so keep it going girl!!

Thanks MissPoodle :) I've drunk a LOT of water and liquids today, so hopefully that will do something to get the scales moving down again. Gonna measure myself tomorrow before I start at the gym to get an idea of where I'm starting at, hopefully the gym will see me losing heaps of inches instead of kilos, which will be just as good :) I'm going to see my parents in about 4 weeks and I want to look slimmer.

You and I are the same weight, if I calculated right!
I keep my calories between 1400 and 1600. I know if I fluctuate them, it seems to confuse my body into losing the weight. I never go below 1400, though. When I do, my body stops losing the weight. My calories were so high for so long, that too much of a deficit puts my body into starvation mode. I know that the recommended low is 1200, though. 1400 works for me. :)
Also, if you are doing any strength training, that might be why the scale isn't moving. I was doing strength training, building muscle and stuff, and my scale stopped. I could feel myself getting smaller, but I was putting on bulk. lol For the time being, I'm only doing cardio. That seems to have kicked my fat off. I figure that I can start strength training again when I'm around 200lbs.

Anyway, great job on the losses! Keep it up and don't get discouraged! The plateaus just give you something to work harder for!! :coolgleamA:

Ninja - my calorie counting site recommends that I eat about 2000 calories a day. Are you sure you're eating enough? I haven't really gotten into any exercise yet, but planning on starting on Monday when my friend gets a membership to the same gym as me.

I weighed in this morning and I've lost 4.1kg this week, an awesome achievement I reckon! That's about 9lb... wow that number looks huge! I'm hoping for another 5.9kg this coming week to make it an even 10kg, which would just be awesome. I think maybe I'm hoping for too much though! The diet I'm on apparently guarantees about 10kg/22lb loss in the 2 weeks that you're on it. Of course I've read in other places that people have lost about 15lb max... guess we'll just have to see! Maybe with the exercise that I'm starting Monday it will kick it all up a notch too.
